Common Questions and Answers about Pancreatitis symptoms list

pancreatitis

Avatar m tn Thanks for the reply, my dr has not ordered the pancreatic enzyme labs yet, she feels it is GERD related. I suppose without any other symptoms of pancreatitis it would be low. I am a very anxious person so it's most likely a mixture of the two (GERD and Anxiety). I have no fever, no vomitting, no jaundice, I am at a loss.
Avatar f tn ve ever had is a (drum roll please)...................CRAMP????? Hahahahaha, dipshit! All my symptoms point to Pancreatitis. I am going to my regular GI Doc on Tues, excited to maybe get some answers. I also "googled" the results of my Transvaginal Ultrasound, ha! I seem to have a "Complex" cyst on my left ovary. Those are the kind that have to be evaluated right away and removed, they are not good!
Avatar m tn thanks for the coment ,ive always felt like the CT scan missed what the problem was, i mean i went down the list of symptoms from Chronic pancreatitis and Panc Cancer, and it was 6 for Yes and 1 for no on CP and it was 4 yes and 4 no for panc cancer, not that u can go,oh u have CP ,because of that, but ive been having these symptoms since June 6th 2013,my GI doctor 1st thought IBS,so i went two months with trying to fix ,went back after the two months ,he did the CA 19-9 and the CBC,and now co
Avatar n tn The American Medical Association must have a site where you can search for doctors accepting new patients. In Ontario, Canada, you can go to http://www.cpso.on.ca/ (the The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario). Alternately, you could probably attend an after-hours or walk-in clinic and see an on-call physician. Finally, if you still can't find a decent doctor, maybe call your local hospitals and ask for a list of physicians accepting new patients in your area.
Avatar n tn It is easy to read and understand and you can search for terms specific to your situation. Chapter 12 deals with the Biliary System and the various problems and their symptoms. You're welcome to read my journal (www.medhelp.org/user_journals/list/469934?sort_by=title) if you want, because our situations seem quite similar. Keeping a journal is a great idea and there is one on your home page.
Avatar f tn Hi, understand your concern. With pancreatitis usually the lipase and amylase values are increased many folds. And if chronic the imaging studies will usually show pancreatic fibrosis. In the absence of these findings its unlikely that you have chronic pancreatitis. The other causes for the pain could be infections of the bowel and bladder, prolapsed intervertebral disc or inflammatory diseases of the colon. So, if your symptoms persist discuss these options with your doctor. Regards.
Avatar m tn ve avoided all carbs and sugar on the advice of dr google, I started to suspect it could be Pancreatitis as a side effect of the hand foot mouth virus. This diet seems to help, I barely feel the pain now, it comes and goes. I have also been peeing a lot, but I've been drinking a lot of water. Not necessarily because I'm super thirsty, but when I'm not feeling well, I try to drink a lot of water.
82861 tn?1333453911 He can count on having several cases of pancreatitis coming in along with the usual overindulgence GI symptoms. Pancreatitis is expensive to treat because it's usually done in-patient and the condition is fatal more often than not. Much as dogs love human food, it's better to be safe than sorry and keep them on their usual diet. Educate your guests that human food is off the menu for your dogs no matter how much they beg.
Avatar f tn re headed to an acute bout of pancreatitis and trust me, you do not want that to happen. Pancreatitis often turns into the gift that keeps on giving and becomes a horribly painful, chronic condition. Alcohol abuse is a common cause of pancreatitis and any doctor will tell you that alcohol has to go out of your life forever or you risk another acute attack. Alcohlic hepatitis is another condition high on the list of suspects.
Avatar f tn My chocolate lab "Skip" is about 10 years old and developed pancreatitis for the first time. We took him to the doctor he never vomited or diahrea until the day after he got to the vets office. His amalyse was high like 8000 and his glucose and white blood count low but we got an ultrasound to make sure not cancer. He started to show improvements with the IV and antibiotic. Now a week later he is starting to decline and the vet has tried everything.
Avatar n tn anything salted/anything cooked with or containing onions/grapes/raisins(ie fruit cake, pies etc)/chocolate/ even LIVER can affect some dogs badly!....the list is quite long. Also I wouldn't want to feed MY dog on...lumps of fat/leftover pizza crust/pastry/mass-produced white bread/sugary snacks/salty snacks/all the kind of junk we humans think we can get away with eating! But sometimes, if I have something left over which I know is ok for dogs, I will add it to my dog's next meal.
Avatar m tn My cat was DX w pancreatitius & met all symptoms for a few weeks / the meds worked but it got bad. Then a big turn happened. He started eating & now won't stop! His constant meowing is driving me crazy.he lost weight whwhen really sick. He is still underweight but why does he demand food 24/7? I'm so stressed out I can't think straight. Upset too if his DX was wrong we spent so much $$ on labs/meds. Now I'm not sure/don't think he has it! Help.
Avatar n tn I have read that gallbladder surgery is dangerous in the presence of pancreatitis and that the pancreatitis can also cause gallbladder disease or vice versa. Anyone had similar question?
Avatar f tn OMG I can't believe I'm not the only one dealing with a puppy with pancreatitis...My puppy has been in and out of the vets office more times than I care to count since we got her in May. This little Chessie is just miserable. She will be great for a few days and then within a matter of a few hours she can be in pain and so sick. I am able to do IVs at home if I need to, but my question is what do you get them to eat? Pumpkin she loves...yogurt at times.
Avatar f tn I had ERCP done in March of this year, after an initial bout of acute pancreatitis I was well for about three month after which the pain started to return. My Doctors are now looking to do another ERCP with stent replacement (I still have my gall bladder), has this happened to anyone else, did the second op resolve the problem? I hate the idea of having this done again when it mught be better to have my gall bladder removed, afterall too many op's has to be risky.
1727909 tn?1314845210 I'm having gallbladder pain and symptoms- has anyone gained weight after the surgery? And what is it about GB removal that makes you gain weight?
Avatar f tn Last year was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Am again suffering from similiar symptoms. Hospital told me not to eat till I saw family doctor. He told me not to eat for 3 days, drink water only. Symptoms got better starting eating carbs after that. 8months later and similiar symptoms, fatigue, bloating. Shall I assume the liquid diet for a few days? Not sure what the doctor or hospital will do other than tell me that and don't want to waste 12 hours in the ER again, let alone the cost.
1485641 tn?1287974298 When sick, Pete will become lethargic and have symptoms including vomiting, diarrhea and loss of appetite. This usually will last up to a week and in some cases leads to severe dehydration and require iv fluids from our local vet. He is now experiencing another episode and it's killing us to see him like this and we feel helpless not to be able to help him once again. He has been to different vets and specialist and undergone all kinds of tests, all with negative results.
Avatar n tn The endoscopy found mild gastritis. All other test are normal. The pancreatic specialist did not mention pancreatitis at the time and only prescribed nexium and sulcrafate for the gastritis. I am 67, and never had a previous bout with pancreatitis. Moderate beer drinker. How should I be treated?
Avatar f tn You may have chronic pancreatitis. Find a biliary specialist soon. You should get testing to determine if you have this or not. If you do they will advise you what to do to help.
Avatar n tn I had my first attack of acute pancreatitis last week. It was a mild attack. I spent a couple of days in the hospital on IV. I'm feeling much better and haven't had another painful attack. However, I still seem to have soreness on my left side, but not in the same location as the pancreatitis pain. My stomach is also still bloated. My attack was 5 days ago. My question is; is it normal to have some residual soreness after acute pancreatitis?
Avatar f tn //www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/pancreatitis/symptoms-causes/syc-20360227 It's my understanding that sometimes in severe scaring cases they will do surgery or use nerve blocks to help. But more information would be beneficial for more discussion.
