Common Questions and Answers about Pancreatitis symptoms jaundice

pancreatitis

Avatar n tn Blood work normal except this last check the included the CA 19-9, came back at 473. Ct had shown mild pancreatitis with pancreatic duct dilation. EUS procedure was scheduled and now canceled due to coronavirus. Do we have reason to worry is this most likely just pancreatitis.
5525494 tn?1369235489 If back pain was from pancreatic cancer, would there also be other symptoms like jaundice, weight loss, nausea/vomiting or can back pain alone be cause for concern? Also is back pain associated with pancreatic cancer always severe or can mild back pain cause cancer for pancreatic cancer.
Avatar n tn Thanks a lot for your info, do you have the same symptoms as I am? i was actually seeing a good doctor specialize d in liver, the thing that stuck on my mind is the 3 times jaundice...
Avatar f tn Hi. My sweet chihuahua, Charlie is 11 years old. He was diagnosed with Cushing's disease about 1 1/2 years ago. About 9 months ago, he had one of his anal sacs removed due to cancer, followed by radiation (as far as we know there is no metastasis). He also developed bladder stones around the same time as his anal sea resection, so they removed the stones at the same time. He's been on Urinary SO since then.
Avatar m tn The other causes could be jaundice if there is yellowish discoloration of skin, food poisoning if the symptoms occurred shortly after taking food, peptic ulcer disease and sometimes cholecystitis and pancreatitis. Hope a urine analysis did not reveal an infection, as urinary tract infection can cause these symptoms. Discuss these options with your consulting doctor. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the reply, my dr has not ordered the pancreatic enzyme labs yet, she feels it is GERD related. I suppose without any other symptoms of pancreatitis it would be low. I am a very anxious person so it's most likely a mixture of the two (GERD and Anxiety). I have no fever, no vomitting, no jaundice, I am at a loss.
Avatar f tn Yellow tinge to the eyes is one of the symptoms of jaundice. A fever and not feeling well all over (malaise) sound like you might be having some issues with your liver, gall bladder or pancreas. I think of a couple of things: Gallstones or a Gallbladder that is not functioning right. Pancreatitis: Inflammation of the pancreas which can cause jaundice and feeling ill. Hepatitis A or B: Any form of hepatitis can cause these symptoms too. You should see your doctor asap for testing.
Avatar f tn I dont't know about the hepatitis but I do know from experience it causes pancreatitis and yellow jaundice when you drink too much. It wouldn't hurt for you to drink a lot of water. I am in recovery from drinking too much all the time. The elevated enzymes can be a sign of liver or pancreas problems.
Avatar m tn Pancreatitis can often be diagnosed clinically based on symptoms and/or labs (e.g., lipase, and to a lesser extent amylase). CT can confirm this, showing fat stranding around the pancreas, but the main role of CT is to evaluate complications of acute pancreatitis (e.g., necrosis, collections, etc.) and/or sequela of chronic pancreatitis (e.g., calcifications).
Avatar n tn Are there any other changes in behavior or any other symptoms aside from the jaundice and vomiting? Did she happen to get into a bunch of fatty food before symptoms showed up?
Avatar n tn The other causes could be jaundice if there is yellowish discoloration of skin, food poisoning if the symptoms occurred shortly after taking food, peptic ulcer disease and sometimes cholecystitis and pancreatitis. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. In the meantime take oral fluids. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Another gastroentologist believes that they should wait for about two week may blue it will pass to avoid pancreatitis.
Avatar m tn ima 33y/o male ive been having oily stools for almost 5 months, weight loss of almost 50 lbs total despite having a healthy appetite, mild but constant middle to lower back pain,Constant burping and bloated have had 2 abdominal CT scans one without contrast and one with oral and IV contrast Both Came back clean ,no sign of Cancer or cancer spread as i am truly convinced i have Pancreatic cancer ,my back bothers me more sitting in a chair or laying down, the last CT scan i had was in mid july, also
Avatar f tn com/cancer/pancreatic-cancer/pancreatic-cancer-symptoms#1 When they speak of light stools they are speaking in terms of jaundice which usually has other symptoms such as yellow skin or eyes. Do you have that as well? If not, I'd not necessarily associate light stools with pancreatic cancer. GERD is likely to cause yellow stools. Could that be a possibility for you?
658828 tn?1225046595 I have been reading online and think I may have Pancreatitis? Are these symptoms consistent with Pancreatitis? I also have read about Fibromyalgia as well b/c these autoimmune diseases seem to occur together, but I just cant get myself to think that this is just a muscoskeletal pain problem especially since its mainly in the area where my kidneys are located. I have an appt with a GI dr next week so I am hoping i can get some answers.
Avatar n tn s weeks before I can see the gastroenterologist. I have no other symptoms of a problem with the pancreas (no jaundice, abdominal pain, etc). Are there causes of an inhomogeneous pancreas on ultrasound besides cancer and pancreatitis?
Avatar m tn Hi, Im posting this question for guidance as am getting frustrated by lack of answers and hoping some replies may be able to move investigations onwards. Below I have listed symptoms which started 19th October (today is 24th November). Elevated ALTS (77, 140, 72, 106 in four blood tests) Pain right hand side - constant dull ache, sharp pains, burning sensation and a feeling that something is being squeezed and twisted like a stress ball.
Avatar n tn html The above link gives you a long list of what normal bloodwork numbers are supposed to be. Your physician is supposed to explain why you have jaundice, which is based on what some of those numbers mean if they're abnormal, along with his information from your history and symptoms and other tests he performs. A couple numbers may be off, but often it depends on how they relate to other numbers, etc., as to what they actually mean.
Avatar f tn You seem to be very knowledgable with the whole pancreatitis thing, so I pose a question to you. I had Pancreatitis in Nov, spent a week in hospital, IV fluids, pain & anti nausea meds etc... found stones in the gallbladder and removed it 2 weeks later. I still had the nausea and some pain (esp. after eating) post laper. choly.
Avatar f tn Fever, chills, and jaundice are uncommon symptoms. Patients may also present with acute recurrent pancreatitis. " More layman's terms:http://yourtotalhealth.ivillage.com/sphincter-oddi-dysfunction.html from the site, quote: "The disease you are describing is known as sphincter of oddi dysfunction (SOD). The sphincter of oddi is situated in the upper intestine, or duodenum, at the site where the pancreatic and bile ducts enter.
Avatar f tn The other causes could be jaundice if there is yellowish discoloration of skin, food poisoning if the symptoms occurred shortly after taking food, peptic ulcer disease and sometimes cholecystitis and pancreatitis. Please consult your primary care physician for further evaluation. In the meantime take oral fluids and OTC acetaminophen for the pain. Regards.
Avatar m tn A few symptoms that are only present when I have pancreatitis flare-ups are small black specks in my stool or sometimes even small red spots. I don't know these are of any concern as related to blood or just rather undigested food from my pancreases inability to perform fully. Most of my questions to the doctors go unanswered and other symptom explanations are shrugged off.
Avatar m tn m worried that this might be either cirrhosis/ gallbladder issue/pancreatitis. Besides my symptoms, I have no signs of Jaundice, swelling of my feet, skin itching, nausea, vomiting, not much loss of appetite or spider veins which do point out to cirrhosis. I feel that I have a very slight mental fog but generally able to think alright. In the mean time, I'm taking steps to refrain from drinking alcohol by stopping consumption but not completely abstaining (drinking once a week).
Avatar n tn If your report says that your bilirubin is high, then you probably have jaundice (jaundice is the accumulation of bilirubin under the skin) and some type of liver disease that needs further testing and diagnosis. My two cents. Take care and God bless.
Avatar m tn The other causes could be jaundice if there is yellowish discoloration of skin, food poisoning if the symptoms occurred shortly after taking food, peptic ulcer disease and sometimes cholecystitis and pancreatitis. Please consult your primary care physician for further evaluation. In the meantime take oral fluids and include plenty of yogurt in your diet. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn (We manage it very well with diet and Vetsulin but it takes dedication, a rigid feeding schedule and 2 shots a day.) Keep an eye out for the symptoms once your pal is well. Early symptoms include increased drinking, iurinating more (accidents may be a sign), weight loss, increased appetite, dehydration and sudden cataract formation.
