Avatar f tn 30pm). My blood work came back good he said. Oh, I also have 4 ovarian cysts that I had to go to the hospital and pay for the results, nothing has been done about those. I am at my whits end, something is wrong and not one Dr. has been willing to try to get to the bottom of this. I have gained 30+ pounds and I don't even eat, my stomach can't handle it. I get over full just drinking water.
Avatar m tn About a month ago I had hand, foot and mouth virus. It was bad, it lasted for 2 weeks. Our 2 year old daughter got it, then I guess she gave it to me. We are traveling at the moment, we're staying in Australia with my wife's family. I went to the hospital and got this diagnosis to which there isn't really any treatment besides pain management. Since getting over that, I just noticed a small, sharp pain in my abdomen. It seems to be local to the lower left side.
Avatar f tn Received blood results. ALT 74 AST 123. My glucose is 112 and my tryglicerdies are 306. I have no abdomonal pain but do feel very fatigued. I just recently had gone to the hospital for heart palpitations and feeling like i was going to pass out. Are these levels still able to come down? Or is it possible that there is no turning back at this point? Very nervous.
996946 tn?1503249112 Maybe I should resubmit my question? Or at least rephrase it? Or post it on a different forum? I have been on coumadin for a-fib for 6 months and I am wondering if it has any effect on blood sugar levels?
Avatar f tn Hi, post procedure you are having repeated symptoms of pancreatitis and if not controlled with conservative measures, its best to have it removed. There could an obstruction to the duct which is triggering these episodes. Regards.
658828 tn?1225046595 I have been reading online and think I may have Pancreatitis? Are these symptoms consistent with Pancreatitis? I also have read about Fibromyalgia as well b/c these autoimmune diseases seem to occur together, but I just cant get myself to think that this is just a muscoskeletal pain problem especially since its mainly in the area where my kidneys are located. I have an appt with a GI dr next week so I am hoping i can get some answers.
Avatar m tn In order to progress to chronic pancreatitis, you would have had a number of episodes of acute pancreatitis before that. The symptoms of pancreatitis are so miserable, you would have known you were experienicng 'something.' Elevations in pancreatic enzymes should be checked out. Probiotics are wonderful products. Many find they can help to bring bowel habit problems back into line, but they're no replacement for testing. H.
687079 tn?1230948612 my dpctor has diagnosed me with biliary dyskinesia and i just want to be sure before i have surgery that others have experienced some of these symptoms too, or any symptoms that you may have had would be helpful too!
Avatar m tn I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. It's unlikely that pancreatitis results in acute liver failure/necrosis (ALN)- while pancreatitis can result in ELEVATED liver function tests (LFTs), it shouldn't cause failure. Cause for ALN include blue-green algae exposure (in stagnant ponds), sago palm ingestion, xylitol sugar-free gum, a few medications, etc. Sometimes end-stage liver disease (cirrhosis) can also cause acute liver failure also.
Avatar m tn Anna, these were my symptoms when i first was in the hospt. w/ my pancreatitis, i had high Amalyse and Lipase levels and dull aching pain in my mid to left abdomen(for a week).., and since then my stools have been abnormal, I also have lost about 15 pounds, and i indeed have had a stool test for fat and mine came back negative. Thanks for sharing your story anna, hope your test comes back okay I just would like Dr. Rogue to give his opinion on what he thinks is wrong with me.
Avatar f tn If you can get in to see a doctor, you should. It could be many different things. Could be gas, indigestion, acute pancreatitis, or a few other things. I'd skip the general practitioner and try to go straight to a GI. They will probably run blood tests at first. Hopefully that will help figure out the exact cause.
Avatar f tn I have presented with dizziness, light headed, mild nausea last Friday, Doctor ran multiple blood test and only reported thyroid low and sugar elevated higher than ever since diagnosis in 2000. A1C came back 11.7 (ridiculous) my glucose was 297 mid morning but not fasting.
Avatar f tn Oral pancreatic enzyme supplements are utilized to aid in the digestion of food. Patients who develop diabetes require insulin to control the blood sugar. It is important to remember that no treatment will help relieve your pain if you drink alcohol. A diet low in fat is necessary and sometimes it is easier for the patient to eat more frequently in much smaller portions.
Avatar m tn In the trauma centre, he kept throwing up due to the extreme pain. The doctors ran many tests and found out that his blood sugar level was very high. They also found out that he had very severe acute pancreatitis. Additionally as they scanned him, they found he had a cyst on his pancreas. He was in hospital for a couple of weeks and got better gradually. Doctors established that he had acute pancreatitis and secondary diabetes. The cyst was drained.
Avatar n tn stomach problems (stomach burning), mild diarrhoea (which i've had for some years already on and off. Its specifically notable that i still have it now because I take lots of fibre on my diet). Fibre seems to be helping but stool is still 'softish' a few days per week, stool colour normal, brownish. Bowel movement once a day or once every 2 days.
Avatar f tn Hypoglycemia/ low blood sugar would be considered blood sugar levels less than about 70. Your result of 103 is normal, not hypoglycemia. It is likely that your symptoms may be from other causes. Sometimes headaches can be a sign of not drinking enough - so a glass of water and a few minutes to relax / be quiet - may help a lot. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn I remember waking up some day 11 years ago when I was 19 and I had all the symptoms on the Earth. dizzyiness, shortness of breath, bad vision, sweating a lot, peeing a lot drinking a lot, always hot, heartache etc.. I made tests for every knowing disease both in Ukraine and Syria and nothing..everything is alright with my lungs and heart and all other organs. Now, I am 30 and I still have these symptoms which I kinda got used to it.
Avatar m tn Hi, I saw a post of a case similar to mine where the liver was affected as well as the pancreas with wieght gain instead of loss on a low fat diet. Im wondering what causes that especially in pancreatitis? I loss alot of weight a year ago, was real sick with abnormal bruising and weakness, falling down, ect, this was before pancreas started acting up again, prior to that I had only one acute episode of pancreatitis.
543435 tn?1282242679 Has any doctor ever suggested he may have chronic pancreatitis? You can have chronic pancreatitis and have flares of acute pancreatitis. This can be hereditary or from drinking or many other reasons. If you have this disease then you are unable to digest a lot of food. Sticking to a low fat diet and taking specially prescribed enzymes to help digest food seems to help some people with this. Usually a diagnosis is made from an endoscopic ultrasound procedure or from CT scan.
Avatar n tn Liquor itself will lower your blood sugar (liquor is all 0g of sugar, including liquors like rum which are based from sugar cane), but if you pair it with a sweet mixer (juice, soda, etc.) it will raise and lower your blood sugar. I usually find that when I drink, the mixers raise it first and the alcohol lowers it later. As for insulin, I use an insulin pump with a 1 unit / 11g of carb ratio.
Avatar f tn I recently got out of the hospital for an attack of acute pancreatitis. They did a cat scan, MRI and EDG and couldn't find the cause of my attack. The cat scan and MRI showed that I had multiple lymph nodes in my retroperitoneum. They were under 10mm on the cat scan but as large as 17mm on the MRI. I'm a 41 year old female and I don't have a history of alcohol abuse. I smoked for 25 years but I quit after having this attack.
Avatar f tn Hey, my names Natalie and I have just turned 18. About 2 years ago I was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. Being 18 I'm starting to think about my future, my future consists of having a family. I'm not currently trying to conceive but I am curious as to pregnancy with pancreatitis, problems and outcomes. I don't want anything sugar coated.
Avatar n tn Also please consult a gynecologist to rule out hormonal imbalance of peri menopause. Possibility of polycystic ovaries should also be looked into as they also affect the blood sugar levels.
