pancreatitis

Avatar f tn The amylase and lipase test will be high if you have pancreatitis otherwise it may not have been pancreatitis and possibly referred pain. It is good you are following up the GI doc maybe they can figure out why you have these problems. I don't know if there is any connection between the pain near the pancreas and liver bruising. hope you get well soon.
Avatar n tn I have been to a Rheumatologist (wasnt that impressed with him) he checked ccp Igg, is this the samething?I dont think he was looking for Autoimmune pancreatitis , I think he was looking for lupus or or something. What was your treatment?. Was your ANA elevated to? Mine has been normal some also.
Avatar f tn About six months ago I started experiencing pain in my right upper quadrant, just below the ribs. The first time I experienced it, I was turning over in bed and something caught inside me like the muscle in my abdomen was ripping loose. When I released the strain of turning over the pain went away. However, I was left with this constant little pain in the area that feels like a bee stinging me sometimes and sometimes just a little ache like someone penching me inside.
1952776 tn?1325606457 When I was diagnosed with the Sarc I was prescribed Azathioprine which I found out over the three years I took it has damaged my pancreas and I am left with debilitating chronic pancreatitis. My liver enzymes over the years have been elevated off and on but no jaundice just fatty liver. Because my ANA is so high and I tested positive for the RA they went ahead and tested me for lupus.
Avatar m tn They put me on pain meds through IV nearly cut the pain. Took chest X-ray, another ultra sound of the left side more towards middle now and blood work all normal. Set me home with pain patch and follow up with surgeon. So I did he set me for an MRI no contrast of abdominal and pelvic area showed nothing. I swear this is pancreatitis since it can't be gallbladder cause it's removed. This is acting just like my gallbladder did. But everyday I am in more more pain on that side.
Avatar f tn thing so I looked IgA up and saw that it could be lupus as well as multiple myeloma. I have been having back pain, and a lot of infections lately it seems (throat, ear and apparently a bladder infection, all within 2 months). As well, I have been having muscle soreness as soon as I wake up, so I upped my potassium intake and it seems to be working okay.. but this back pain is still there.
Avatar f tn It can be a lupus associated pain and fever, but less likely to start this way. Also lupus is unlikely to cause high fever, severe headache or abdominal pain. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Please consult your doctor regarding this. I sincerely hope you will find this information useful in your journey towards better health. Hope you get well soon! Good Luck and take care!
422425 tn?1307992990 Hello everyone. Well I was just diagnosed with SS piggy back to Lupus. I was just wondering how long it will take for my lip to heal. I had the biopsy on Thursday and it is still very sore and numb. I feel like I have been to the dentist. I really hope it is gone before Christmas and I can't start the predisone until my biopsy site is healed. Any info would be great....
Avatar n tn PLEASE, CAN SOMEONE HELP ME FIND A GASTROENTEROLIGIST THAT CAN HELP ME MANAGE THE PAIN OF SPHINCTER OF ODDI DYSFUNCTION. There are no specialists in this area who can do manometry of my liver. In 2002, Dr. Bailey at Duke Univ. made three attempts in a period of nine months to access the bile duct and measure the pressure inside my liver. He was unable to do the manometry and I developed a severe case of pancreatitis.
422425 tn?1307992990 Hello. I am new to this forum and looking for some answers. During a CT scan last summer my DR found that I have several masses in both kidneys. After a biopsy I was diagnosed with interstitial nephritis. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this? Does it ever go away? I have large amounts of blood and protein in my urine and my kidney functions are decreased and have been for about 4 years already. I am scheduled with a kidney dr in a few weeks.

Avatar n tn What are they actually treating and what symptoms do you have other than high liver enzymes. Do you have Lupus or Autoimmune Pancreatitis/Hepatitis where the immune system is going haywire?

229538 tn?1300377767 Is she on pain meds? sounds like pancreatitis is quite painful and its a good idea to use pain control to promote healing. for long term pain control the most recommended opiate is BUPRENEX or TRAMADOL for cats. good pain control would also make her feel more like eating, but on the other hand loss of appetite can be a side effect of some of the medications...so need good Vet advice there. Are you assist feeding her? If she is not eating well, hepatic lipidosis is a very serious worry.
Avatar f tn In the absence of these findings its unlikely that you have chronic pancreatitis. The other causes for the pain could be infections of the bowel and bladder, prolapsed intervertebral disc or inflammatory diseases of the colon. So, if your symptoms persist discuss these options with your doctor. Regards.
Avatar f tn I myself have been going through this pain. I just spent 6 days in the hospital with what they called panreatitis. I have the same pain it sounds like that ya'll have had. I had my gallbladder out in 1998 and have IBS and hyatial hernia and acid reflux. Now I am having to deal with this. I am also told that I am going to have to get the ERCP done because gallstones may be creating the problem. Also a big thing! CT Scans and MRI's do Not always show stones.
Avatar f tn Ask your doctor to do a blood test for amylase & lipase levels.
Avatar n tn A sphincterotomy was performed at this time (Sphincter of Oddi). At my 2 week surgical follow-up I had no pain whatsoever. Pain in the right upper quadrant developed within the next few weeks. I have now had the pain every day for over 4 months. It is not horrible, but it is annoying and distracting and diminishes my quality of life with my two little girls. The pain is sometimes burning, just under my rib cage. Sometimes it feels as if something is poking or stabbing me from deep inside.
Avatar f tn Anyone else out there suffering from Chronic (and acute) pancreatitis and/or sphincter of Oddi dysfunction? Would love to chat about how to manage these disorders.
Avatar n tn Can the medicine Zanaflex cause Pancreatitis? I have looked up information on this med and it states that 1 out of 20 patients could develop liver damage. I was diagnosed with Pancreatitis on 10/14/08. I had never had it in my life. I am afraid this medicine has caused it. I have never ever picked up any type of drink other than diet pepsi and jucie. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am so scared and hurting.
Avatar f tn Chronic pain-all over my body pain in back of head that goes down into neck, dibilatating joint pain, swelling hair loss X-treme Fatigue weakness memory loss/confusion Muscle cramps cold intolerance rash eczema in ears PLEASE HELP ME! Again, I appoligize for the length.
Avatar n tn Does the duct dilatation set off an inflamation of the liver and pancreas and cause the pancreatitis pain? Also can the duct dilatation heal on its own in time? I have no desire to undergo an ERCP as I've heard such nightmare stories from people who have undergone but yet I'm so tired of not feeling good and having pain and just would like to feel good again. Thanks for your help.
1878464 tn?1320559437 To post an update, I was just diagnosed with non-systemic lupus. The ICD9 code given is 695.4 which is discoid lupus. Looking at pictures from http://dermnetnz.org/immune/cutaneous-lupus.html it appears that lupus profundus is more accurate. I have started another thread in regards to the question of the type, but I wanted to conclude this thread with the diagnosis.
