Pancreatitis blood infection

Common Questions and Answers about Pancreatitis blood infection

pancreatitis

Avatar f tn Hi, and welcome to the Infectious disease forum. Unless you have a blood infection I doubt that the knee infection and pancreatitis are connected. It also depends on whether you are immunocompromised. Have you had a super high fever and chills? If so I would see the doctor. The bacteria from the knee infection would have to leak into the blood into order for it to get into the pancreas and vice versa. Did the knee infection happen soon after it was placed in the knee?
Avatar f tn Cranberry pills can only help with the pain of a UTI by sweeping the byproducts of the infection out of the urinary tract. It will not treat the actual infection. Urinary tract infections can be terribly difficult to treat for any animal, be it human, canine or anything else. All it takes is one little bacterium to survive treatment and the infection comes right back. That's one reason it's so important to take all antibiotics until they're gone.
Avatar m tn cyclopam or meftal - spas, then we take her to hospital, they admitted her n done blood tests, ultrasound, abodomen x-rays and CT scan too. as she stated complaining severe backache too. in her CT scan doctors found her pencreas head size is bit bulky, they called it as Pencreas mild infection. but for secrure side they did MRCP too. everything was normal, only that infection they found. after this doctors stopped her food n water even. Daily her Blood tests done(Lipase n Amylase).
Avatar f tn I have noticed with the blood work since 2011 that she keeps getting this infection, I know from her white blood count. Since Aug. 31st she also had an abscess near the bottom of her throat/chest that opened up itself and drained not puss but clear liquid and blood. I had her on Amoxacillian (sorry not sure how to spell that) 500 mg twice a day for a month before Aug. 31st because she had a bad cough.
Avatar n tn I went to the doctor the other night for chest pains and found out I had acid reflex..... When they ran the blood tests they found I had elevated Lipase ( H 299). For the past few months I have had stomach discomfort.... What could this mean? This discussion is related to Elevated lipase level.
658828 tn?1225046595 I have been reading online and think I may have Pancreatitis? Are these symptoms consistent with Pancreatitis? I also have read about Fibromyalgia as well b/c these autoimmune diseases seem to occur together, but I just cant get myself to think that this is just a muscoskeletal pain problem especially since its mainly in the area where my kidneys are located. I have an appt with a GI dr next week so I am hoping i can get some answers.
Avatar n tn Have you considered actute pancreatitis or chrnic pancreatitis? Look up their symptoms and if you think that is what you have then the first thing to do is to ask your doctor for blood work and an ultrasound.
Avatar f tn Also has anyone ever had normal blood levels with pancreatitis?
Avatar m tn Thank you, I did take him to the Vet. Had blood and urine workup. Blood workup was good. Urine showed high ketones - (probably why he is losing so much fat (3 lbs since October.) fat that he has lost maybe in the last month. The Vet thinks there might be an infection (one lab was very high - and it is only high when the sugars are high, but his sugar were good, so far she doesn't know what is going on.
Avatar f tn I am struggling with several issues associated with management of kidney disease in my 18 year old terrier mix rescue dog, who was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease 5 weeks ago, on the heels of an episode of acute pancreatitis. He had been on metacam for osteoarthritis (elbow, spine, hips) for about 2 years, so we have been monitoring his blood work at least every 6 months. His creatinine had been creeping up slowly, but entered the abnormal zone at 1.
Avatar n tn Pain only started after using antibiotics (Amoxicillin, Clairythromycin) thus doctor suspect pancreatitis. Although blood reports and ultrasounds are normal but since endoscopy was normal and the fact the pain has almost disabled me because physical activity like walking aggravates pain and gives you cramp like you got punched in upper stomach pain, doctor thinks it could be pancreatitis.
Avatar f tn My chocolate lab "Skip" is about 10 years old and developed pancreatitis for the first time. We took him to the doctor he never vomited or diahrea until the day after he got to the vets office. His amalyse was high like 8000 and his glucose and white blood count low but we got an ultrasound to make sure not cancer. He started to show improvements with the IV and antibiotic. Now a week later he is starting to decline and the vet has tried everything.
Avatar n tn I had a acute pancreatitis attack verified by a ct scan but my amylase and lipase levels never elevated above normal. My white blood cell count did go up significantly. I have a history of heavy drinking but have been alcohol free for almost 2 years. Gallbladder is questionalble with sludge but no inflamation. Doctors are mystified about the low enzyme levels and what to do next.
Avatar f tn Ask your doctor to do a blood test for amylase & lipase levels.
Avatar m tn I woke in the am without the initial symptoms, but instead had a full body rash that was developing and extreme soreness on both sides of my lower back. (I had assumed kidney stones or issue, but the later blood work and urinalysis suggested not.) Went to the doc 2 days later as the rash covered nearly my whole body. The rash was so pronounced and severe looking (though minimal discomfort) that all of the physician attention was spent on it.
Avatar f tn hi thnx 4 ur input...im already diagnosed h. pylori & it caused my gastritis since 2011....but i been treated... now im suspicious about this new back pain...cuz it happens when my GI issues go crazy.... when do GI problems give back pain?. i've never heard of this..
Avatar n tn If the pain is in the left lumbar region (see the quadrants of abdomen—a google image should get you this), then this could be due to stomach issues (like acidity), it may be due to pancreatitis, or spleen issues or kidney stones or kidney infection or due to urinary infection or colitis. An ultrasound of the abdomen followed by urine and stool examination may help clinch the diagnosis. You may need additional tests like CT scan of abdomen, serum amylase, lipase etc.
Avatar f tn I have a history of acute recurrent Pancreatitis over 10years long, with dual Sphincterotomies done 9 months ago that also resulted in a retroperitoneal small bowel perforation and ongoing frequent attacks of acute Pancreatitis. My ampulla goes into a diverticulum in the small bowel. A Triple phase CT Scan done today shows air in the intrahepatic radicals, and in the bile duct, which is dilated to 8.8 mms. There is also air in the Pancreatic Duct which is mildly dilated in the head 4.
Avatar f tn I am not familiar with diverculitis but I do know elevated lipsase and amylase is a sign of pancreatitis which can come from many things like meds, cystic fibrosis, genetics, alcohol, or high tryglicerides. Did you dr mention this?
Avatar f tn Is there anyway that all four tests and blood work missed liver disease and/or pancreatitis?
Avatar n tn What are the possible triggers on these elevated lipase and amylase readings despite previous normal readings for the last 2 - 3 years (last blood test was about 1-1/2 months ago).
Avatar n tn It sounds like your husband has at least pancreatitis based on CT, but it is unusual that the other blood work was normal. Usually pancreatitis presents with elevated amylase and/or lipase. Significant weight loss is concerning for cancer. Jaundice, dark urine, and light stools would also be concerning if present.
