pancreatitis

504535 tn?1210527032 The pain is in my abdomen and all throughout my back. My stool is yellow during an attack of this pain. And my shoulders always hurt during these episodes. I have had many tests performed, including CT scans. Is pancreatitis elusive? Could it be evading tests?
Avatar m tn s pale (small yellow chunks, yellow mucus when I wipe, and yellowish-brownish color in the water). Before I get to my questions, a little background: Back in Nov 08, during a physical and ultrasound to check for what was first thought to be an ulcer, the Doc told me there was some inflammation of my pancreas and liver (alcoholic hepatitis), and to stop drinking immediately, since I consider myself a heavy drinker.
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for your reply. I am talking yellow stool, but at times it is almost white. I had pancreatitis prior to having my gallbladder out due to gallstones. Three weeks after my surgery I began to have the upper right quadrant pain. My doctor thinks the surgeon may have left stones in my common bile duct. I fear that I may have Sphincter of Oddi. Again, Thank you for your reply.
Avatar m tn Blood work, urine test, stool sample and abdominal ultrasound...all clear. Are these signs of pancreatic problems?
Avatar m tn I have read all over the internet and can remember reading a million posts by docs saying yellow stools are absolutely NOT normal and can be indicative of many things. I have had brown stools all my life and now they are yellow? That cannot be normal. This all happened after a period of heavy drinking that lasted about 2 years. I explained that to him and he still maintained the color change was normal.
6708370 tn?1471490210 This makes total sense as my husband has bile duct damage/blockages and therefore when he has decreased bile output (which is most of the time), his stool is yellow in color. When it's brownish in color, his bile output has increased. Hepcandme As Mike pointed out, it can also just be a result of what you have eaten in the days before.
Avatar m tn My main concern now is that my stools have been yellow/pale consistently for the past week now, and have varied only slightly from yellow to light brown before that during the last 2mo. I also have been struggling to maintain my current weight (last time I weighed myself I was 188lbs; before all of this started I weighed around 197). I don't have any significant pain. I am often gassy. I have been diagnosed with hiatal hernia. I do have times when I feel a bit weak.
Avatar f tn I have pancreatitis. Have had 8 weeks of extreme pain. Pain has now subsided. CT and Ultrasound keep showing mild pancreatitis. A cause cannot be found as i have no gallstones and i dont drink alcohol. I have seen a specialist, who sent me home with pain meds. I now have diarhea, for the past month. Sometimes it is oily. Stool sample shows nothing. Blood work shows slight rise in A + L levels. Nothing to be worried about. I have lost 14kgs in 2.5 months. Most of which was lost in the last month.
Avatar n tn My dog has little to no appetite and has been vomiting yellow bile. Should I wait it out or have him seen?
266195 tn?1215310411 Stool that is pale or grey may be caused by insufficient bile output due to conditions such as cholecystitis, gallstones, biliary dyskinesia, giardia parasitic infection, hepatitis, chronic pancreatitis, or cirrhosis. Bile salts from the liver give stool its brownish color. If there is decreased bile output, stool is much lighter in color. Reflux can be a symptom of some of these as well. Personal experience: I was getting the same thing, heartburn, pale stools, etc.
Avatar n tn Did ct, and blood work. Said blood work indicated touch of pancreatitis, and saw 10mm spot on adrenal gland. Said it was probrably adenoma. week later having a lot of low back pain and stomach feeling yuk but no longer swelled.Doc did Cea test. Came back a 6.I am a smoker. Went to gastro doc. had colonoscopy 2 years ago. i benign polp. He is not concerned by cea. Said it would be very rare for me to have colon cancer.
Avatar f tn Okay, sorry for bumping this up, but I'm reading more on oily farts/ stool and everywhere says pancreatitis or a tumor. I HAVE to know if I'm in desperate need of medical attention. I did call the doctor and said I had orange in stool, and she said it was probably the peach tea I was drinking, but I had forgotten to mention it was oily and came out with gas. I remember this happened before, and I was told fat malabsorption, but it went away after a few days.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm also a 22 yrs old patient who is having upper left abodominal pain for like a year, I had CTscan, abdominal ultrasound, Barium enema, Sigmoidoscopy and everything turned out to be normal.
Avatar f tn I have been having bad upper stomach and mid chest pains for about 2 and a half weeks, which is coming from the pancreatitis diagnoses i got a couple or 3 years ago. The last couple of bowel movements I had looked weird. They looked like a whole lot of pieces glued together, really ragged, not smooth as they normally are. Does anybody know if that's a normal part of pancreatits?
1475515 tn?1287189318 Certain food items like cabbage, radish, turnip and certain meat products too cause a foul smell in stool and cutting down these food items also helps. If it persists, then talk to your doctor. Other causes will have to be looked into such as intestinal infection, celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, short bowel syndrome, malabsorption syndromes, chronic pancreatitis or hepatitis and cystic fibrosis. Of these, IBS often results in fishy smell. You will need to consult a gastroenterologist then.
Avatar n tn Other than that it could be due to too much sulfites in diet. Sulfites are present in all juices, molasses, yellow dye in ready made food stuffs, and red wine. Sulfites are present in lesser amounts in mashed potatoes made from dry powder, pickles, tinned shrimp, cookies, crackers, and readymade pie dough. If you have been taking these things in a good amount, then cut down the intake. Also take a lactobacillus preparation and yoghurt with your meals. In all probability the smell will go.
Avatar n tn Did the vet perform a CPLI test to see if your dog had pancreatitis? The causes of vomiting and diarrhea can be many things, such ingestion of a foreign body, ingestion of something toxic, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, parasites, organic causes and more.
Avatar n tn Hi Jexbo, Yellow stools is normally a sing off the stool passing through the Colon to quickly. When the stool starts of it is either yellow or green, and the bile that the liver produces then turns it to its brown tyoe of colour. If it is passing through to quickly, the bile cannot interact with it, therefor causing the colour to remain unchanged. Also, Malabsorption is another reason for the stool staying yellow.
Avatar m tn Could a low functioning gallbladder without stones cause pain in the right upper quadrant and left, as well as pale stool and diarrhea with occasional nausea? I know having a gallbladder out might not fix anything so I am not interested in rushing into it. But could it be aggravating my pancreas? Should I test again for Cdiff? Thanks for the help.
Avatar f tn ive searched online for a lot of things involving yellow stool and i would find many things like parasite or bacterial infections or had to do with my enzyme count .. i dnt want to keep annoying the hell out of the doctor because i feel like they are alreadi annoyed by me lol .. but wat can i do .. i just wanna go back to normal i would always see this thing to take digestive enzymes because it will let your stomach actually aabsorb the food you eat instead of retain it ..
