Pancreatitis and odor

Common Questions and Answers about Pancreatitis and odor

pancreatitis

Avatar n tn I was a longtime sufferer of pancreatitis and have diabetes. You have to try and normalize your system. Cut out all processed/highly refined foods, do juicing, and small consistent meals. Make your husband quit smoking....it makes the pancreas work too hard. Since his is chronic, its all about maintenance, and allowing the body to do some healing as well! If you want I can send you a plan I used which saved my life, and kept me functional. The doctors will just give you meds to ease pain....
Avatar f tn m going 2 hypothesize here that his liver and pancreas are near exhaustion and that he is causing toxicity/poisoning in his system....hence the smell!
Avatar f tn I read that metroznadole can be used to treat pancreatitis if it is an infection. That is why I noticed that it helped with the odor when I would take it for something totally different. I will update after the EUS. Yes diet is very important. I have started a bland diet. I also eat six small meals instead of three meals. We probably think that salads are good for us but the truth is we need all of our fruits and vegetables to be cooked. Nothing raw. Google foods for a bland diet.
Avatar n tn Trouble was I had a really bad Nicorette habit. Low and behold I have chronic pancreatitis and if I chew the gum--the pancreatic pain skyrockets. I would say "YES" Nicorette either causes, triggers, or aggrevates pancreatitis.
Avatar n tn My dog had acute pancreatitis over the weekend and I took him to an emergency vet on Sunday and to his vet on Mon. They both kept him overnight, IV, blood work, meds, and his vet did a rectal x-ray and abdominal x-ray with barium to look for obstruction. He found dirt/sand. My dog ate cat poop covered in dirt. He is at home now doing fine and I have him on a bland diet of canned white chicken and brown rice only. However, his lower abd/belly is a little distended and hard.
Avatar f tn im now being directed to take a gastric emptying study which i already have had done a year ago and those results were normal..my question is...is here a link between pancreatitis and bile reflux? and if so, would it not be indicative of an obstruction (due to the minor dilation) of my pancreatic duct....is there any remedies or speculation around these test results?
Avatar n tn I had hyperparathyroidism and it was my understanding that was separate from my thyroid issue. I'm not sure that is clinically correct though. Hope you get more answers.
Avatar m tn Now its been basically non-stop, confirmed by mri, that it is chronic pancreatitis, and fatty liver. Im being sent to a pain specialist for the pain, and hoping he can offer relief, because Ive been recieving very little help from my doctor with that. Im 5'5", used to be about 138lbs, and now am 162, with gain of 10lbs a month on a low fat diet, no meat, no bread, soft food. I dont understand except unless wieght gain is from thyroid going wrong, im hypothyroid.
Avatar m tn lately i'm feeling bloating in my stomach and change in stool odor. its like more gas i have to release and it smells bad when i poop. what might this be? i've been really stressed lately and too anxious as well. i think i'm depressed coz of frequent mood swings and panic attacks. and after eatin when i feel like full and burp it feels kinda sour. can IBS cause this or is it some kind of bacteria. i feel like this since after i made out with a girl.

Avatar n tn t really given much say in the matter, as the pancreatitis was a nasty attack and I was strongly advised to get my gallbladder out asap after it. It was a straightforward procedure, with no after effects. I can't really say I felt better, because apart from the pancreatitis incident, I never had any problems beforehand! I do sometimes suffer with the "dumping syndrome" which, whilst unpleasant, doesn't worry me too much as I believe it's normal.
Avatar f tn t seem to care about the Pneumobilia and one Dr seemed to think its normal and I might have it forever, but I am concerned especially about possible infection coming from the small bowel into the Biliary hepatic vessels and also can this air be causing the ongoing Pancreatitis?
Avatar m tn But as for a problem just with the pancreas, there are about a dozen reasons for pancreatitis, and so the cause must be found and treated, in addition to treatment for the inflammation going on in the pancreas. Assuming you have pancreatitis, the very first thing a doc would do is put you in the hospital and give you I.V. fluids and then you cannot eat and drink for two days. Since you cannot drink for two days, that's how come you need I.V. fluids.
Avatar m tn been suffering from pancreatitis and doctors thinking my gallbladder may be messed up....How common is it to have had a normal HIDA scan with no apparent stones?
Avatar m tn or it could be pancreatitis.. if you've been drinking or hitting NSAD's really hard lately..the pain is pretty high with pancreatitis and you'd be doubled over..but not always. A blood test for pancreatitis can be used if you've been drinking a lot.. either way with an ulcer i'd avoid alchohol/tylenol/asprin like the plague. That'll kill your stomach.
Avatar f tn You might have pancreatitis. That could cause all 3 symptoms, and the elevated enzymes. Other causes of your symptoms would not likely do that. Make sure your doctor checks you thoroughly for pancreatitis.
Avatar m tn Well I/we know she has a drinking problem, she has started drinking again. She said she researched and drinking Red Wine does not hurt her Pancreatitis. In my feeble attempts of research I have not found anything that supports her thought process. What scares me is she was in a Coma for about 5 weeks and came real close to death for the first week or so, the doctors didn't think she was going to live.
Avatar n tn I was just recently told by a docotr that the weird symptom that I expireince are due to a GI tract issue. I have been dealing with a bad body odor for two years now and edema which I never had before but the docotr says they are 2 seperate issues. She said my edema is related to my weight gain and the body odor is related to a GI tract issue and told me to start probiodics. I was just wondering if you don't mind what your symptoms were to determine it was a GI issue.
Avatar f tn I am a 60 year old female who was diagnosed in the late 80s with acute pancreatitis and still have sporadic trouble today in 2014. A few weeks ago I was diagnosed with hcv and was wondering what effects I would have with the two diseases together, for instance if given treatment for my hep-c will it make my pancreas worse or will I even be able to do the hcv treatment at all?
Avatar m tn We called the vet and they gave her fluids and a shot for nausea hoping that she would get better and she thought maybe our dog had gotten a bit of pancreatitis from thanksgiving. Grandkids feeding her! Well she didn't stop throwing up even though she has spent the last night in the hospital. They gave her fluids and nausea shots and all blood tests came back normal. The vet says she has an enlarged liver.
Avatar f tn During a recent trip to Mexico, I came down with 'travelers diarrhea' - fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomitting, dehydration. Upon arriving back in the states, I was readmitted to the hospital due to elevated amylase and lipase. I didn't have the severe pancreatitis pain until later that night and then only one other bout two nights later. A CT scan, ERCP, and internal ultrasound were all normal and I was discharged after 5 days.
Avatar f tn Acute pancreatitis is most commonly caused by gallstones and alcohol. However, other mechanical factors may cause acute pancreatitis due to obstruction of the pancreatic duct and ischemia of the pancreas. We describe the first case of a parastomal hernia causing acute pancreatitis." There is information on the web if you place the question in your search engine.
