pancreatitis

Avatar f tn Yep, heartburn can be from pregnancy.. In the last 3 days it's just hit me and today I'm 10 weeks!
394931 tn?1208115595 so i have very bad heartburn, upset stomach, with pain. i get heartburn bad enough to cause me to vomit, or i eat and i get severe pain right afterwards a very yucky feeling, where i am doubled over in pain and it lasts for anywheres from half an hour to an hour. if i eat or drink anything i have bad heartburn doesnt matter what it is. my doctor prescribed me pantoloc for the heartburn which is not working at all. all it does is make me vomit..
Avatar n tn m really worried because I did some research and I read the most common causes for exocrine pancreatic insufficiency are cystic fibrosis (which i dont have) and chronic pancreatitis, and, if you have CP that its not curable and there is a severe lower life expectancy associated with it. Is this all true and does it sound as if I have this?
Avatar m tn I have had pancreatitis before and this does feel very similar. Fortunately, this time it went away but pancreatitis is extremely painful and doesn't go away. I was kept in the hospital for 7 days, no food, no water, intravenous fluids and strong pain medication every 2 to 4 hours as needed! I NEVER want to experience that again but I can't help but fear that I will. My pancreas was damaged by both the diabetes and by the pancreatitis so my chances are high of having this reoccur.
Avatar f tn for the past few years i have been having terrible tummy trouble, burning in tummy, feeling sick, pain in stomach, had gall bladder removed 4yrs ago due to repeat pancreatitis, sometimes i feel like i have got a nervous stomach, really dont know whats the matter, had gastostrophy came back all clear,so i know my bowels are fine, get severe heartburn, and feeling like i have got a lump in my throat,Honestly really making me feel down now,Any help appreciated This discussion is related to Can constipatio
Avatar n tn Trouble was I had a really bad Nicorette habit. Low and behold I have chronic pancreatitis and if I chew the gum--the pancreatic pain skyrockets. I would say "YES" Nicorette either causes, triggers, or aggrevates pancreatitis.
266195 tn?1215310411 how long you think i should give it to go away, couldnt it just be low iron or something?
Avatar n tn it has helped and cut back on caffeine, sodas and greasy foood and incorporate more fresj fruits...like melon, may be and papaya is great for heartburn and apples...
760260 tn?1238083189 Could you have some chronic pancreatitis problem? Also many with IBS are well muscledd and healthy so I'm not sure that should knock out the diagnosis. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
Avatar f tn im now being directed to take a gastric emptying study which i already have had done a year ago and those results were normal..my question is...is here a link between pancreatitis and bile reflux? and if so, would it not be indicative of an obstruction (due to the minor dilation) of my pancreatic duct....is there any remedies or speculation around these test results?
Avatar n tn I had hyperparathyroidism and it was my understanding that was separate from my thyroid issue. I'm not sure that is clinically correct though. Hope you get more answers.
Avatar m tn 2 questions..1 can you just stop taking this if you been on it for over a month and negative side effects from doing so?... reason im thinking about stopping it is i have bile reflux since april and was stable with meds since then..then i starting take florastor at first no problems only positives that came but now im experiencing increase in burning in my stomach chest and throat so the florastor is the only thing ive done differently recently..
Avatar n tn I also have kidney disease which was diagnosed 15 years ago. Since my surgery I have suffered from severe heartburn, nausea and diarrhea. Often waking up in the middle of the night to vomit. My stools are either black or often green usually no more that liquid. Is there anything I can do to eliminate the need to stay close to home after eating a meal? Is there possibly another cause for these symptoms? These symptoms are getting progressively worse.
Avatar n tn Ive put on 25 pounds somehow in the last 4 months. I cant eat . about 4 bites of food and im done, oh and spicey NOTHING , i would be soooo sick, so if your intersted in what happens wednesday let me know and i will let you know how it goes with the scope, i went in for gall bladder however the surgin said this wasnt sounding like gall bladder he wants to check for ulcers. however test did show gall bladder is only working 26 %.
Avatar n tn After I eat I very quickly develop a very intense burning sensation, very similar to heartburn, however it is in my lower left quadrant. Sometimes combined with nausea. I have found that the burning is more significant if I have had a large bowel movement. I have been taking Miralax for the last 2 months in hopes the symptoms would subside. However, they still occur. The burning/pain is not every single time I eat, but at least 4 times a week.
Avatar m tn Now its been basically non-stop, confirmed by mri, that it is chronic pancreatitis, and fatty liver. Im being sent to a pain specialist for the pain, and hoping he can offer relief, because Ive been recieving very little help from my doctor with that. Im 5'5", used to be about 138lbs, and now am 162, with gain of 10lbs a month on a low fat diet, no meat, no bread, soft food. I dont understand except unless wieght gain is from thyroid going wrong, im hypothyroid.

Avatar n tn t really given much say in the matter, as the pancreatitis was a nasty attack and I was strongly advised to get my gallbladder out asap after it. It was a straightforward procedure, with no after effects. I can't really say I felt better, because apart from the pancreatitis incident, I never had any problems beforehand! I do sometimes suffer with the "dumping syndrome" which, whilst unpleasant, doesn't worry me too much as I believe it's normal.
Avatar f tn t seem to care about the Pneumobilia and one Dr seemed to think its normal and I might have it forever, but I am concerned especially about possible infection coming from the small bowel into the Biliary hepatic vessels and also can this air be causing the ongoing Pancreatitis?
Avatar n tn I had some minor pain in my upper abdomen and back, really bad heartburn and terrible bloating as well. Some days are worse than others and i'm sooooo sick of it!! I have had my gallbladder out, was in the hospital for a while for pancreatitis, Cat Scans, Ultra sounds, MRCP's, a colonoscopy, stomach empyting study----everything came back NORMALLL. i'm going for a pancreatic function test later this month to test for chronic pancreatitis.
Avatar m tn been suffering from pancreatitis and doctors thinking my gallbladder may be messed up....How common is it to have had a normal HIDA scan with no apparent stones?
Avatar m tn or it could be pancreatitis.. if you've been drinking or hitting NSAD's really hard lately..the pain is pretty high with pancreatitis and you'd be doubled over..but not always. A blood test for pancreatitis can be used if you've been drinking a lot.. either way with an ulcer i'd avoid alchohol/tylenol/asprin like the plague. That'll kill your stomach.
Avatar f tn You might have pancreatitis. That could cause all 3 symptoms, and the elevated enzymes. Other causes of your symptoms would not likely do that. Make sure your doctor checks you thoroughly for pancreatitis.
Avatar m tn Well I/we know she has a drinking problem, she has started drinking again. She said she researched and drinking Red Wine does not hurt her Pancreatitis. In my feeble attempts of research I have not found anything that supports her thought process. What scares me is she was in a Coma for about 5 weeks and came real close to death for the first week or so, the doctors didn't think she was going to live.
Avatar n tn I think reflux or heartburn but you should make an appointment with your doctor to discuss it.
