Avatar n tn Hello, Dermamelan contains Kojic Acid, Phytic Acid, Ascorbic Acid, Arbutine, Titanium Dioxide and Retinyl Palmitate. These products block the formations of melanin (pigment) by inhibiting the tryosinase – an essential enzyme involved in the formation of pigment. It can have various side effects like skin redness, peeling, flakiness and tightening. I suggest you to consult a dermatologist and discuss it with him before going in for any treatment.
Avatar n tn I have just read that you are not supposed to use any product with retinol palmitate while pregnant. I am 20 weeks along and just looked at my facial lotion..yup retinol palmitate...
325086 tn?1217971180 All information I can find specify that only Vitamin A from Beta Carotene is suggested for Liver health. However, the "ALL ONE" powder from Nutritech has 5,000 IU as Vitamin A Palmitate, along with 7,000 IU from Beta Carotene. Is anyone aware if this is an accepable form of 'A'. It claims to be non-toxic.
Avatar n tn Finally, since about year he began giving him INVEGA (paliperidone) injection 50 mg which he is fine with it. The problem is that he has become sperm non-existent as he told me. Will it disappear in case he stop taking the injection after a long period of use???? I am very confused, particularly as he wants to get married and be a father.
Avatar n tn For the past couple years I have been on paliperidone which is generic for invega which I know can cause extreme weight gain. Couple that with my increasingly poor eating habits, I definitely ballooned in weight. For about the past two months I have gone on a heavy calorie restriction that I know is deemed to be unsafe and unhealthy. I want to say now that with respect, I would prefer you focus on my question at hand and not about telling me to eat more food than I currently do. Thanks.

Avatar f tn ALA is better for the skin if used internally, although you will find it in many lotions. The genesis of the skin theory is a dermatologist, who then started marketing a formula that included ALA, ascorbyl palmitate, and some other supplements I don't recall offhand. You can find that formula made by Source Naturals and Bluebonnet; one is called Eternal Skin and the other, I think, Skin Eternal. They copy the formula of this dermatologist. The lotions contain the same ingredients.

Avatar n tn Country Life or Carlson Labs offer vitamin A from CLO. Try 10,000 IU of A and start with 1 teaspoon of cod liver oil, the EPA and DHA will also help. Carlson Labs has CLO with 400 and 500 mg of EPA and DHA per teaspoon. Consider working up to 1 teaspoon CLO 2 times per day. With the A from CLO and the actual CLO, you should notice immediate improvement in the tics as well as reduced hyperactivity/ anxiety. The most important food to avoid is gluten (barley, wheat and rye.

Avatar f tn There are no doctors on this forum. There is a dietician on the other nutrition forum for professional answers. Vitamin C is always acidic -- it is an acid. To make it alkaline you buffer it with minerals such as calcium. There's also a synthetic Vitamin C that's fat soluble called ascorbyl palmitate. But as to what you're doc is doing, he's using it as a medicine, not a supplement, so the normal rules wouldn't apply. Linus Pauling championed this.
Avatar n tn There is no treatment for RP but some studies have shown a possible beneficial effect of retinal palmitate supplements and they are usually recommended in appropriate doses. Continue your research about RP just in case that is the diagnosis. I have had many patients with RP who have had basically a normal life with just a few visual limitations. Generally not airline pilots, or brain surgeons but happy, functional people.
