Avatar n tn ve been out of hospital work too long, but I have not heard of J waves before. If your physician told you his opinion and you still don't believe it, I would suggest you seek another opinion. Then you might have some piece of mind over your child.
Avatar f tn I had my j-pouch surgery a year ago. Things have been great. Lately, I have noticed my BMs have a really bad odor--what could be causing this?
Avatar f tn My son has a J name, it is a combo of Jamarcus and Devonté, Jamarté (Ja-mar-tay). Try combining your name and your kids names, maybe dad's. Good Luck!
Avatar m tn I had a lot of trouble finding out what J1, J3 etc really meant. I finally found an online PDF article from "INSIGHT The Journal of the American Society of Ophthalmic Registered Nurses, Inc.", October-December 2004, which says (paraphrased) that: J1means you can read 4 point type, J2 is 5 point, J3 is 6 point, and J5 is 8 point. You can search the web for "Rosenbaum pocket eye chart" and see one device that measures J values at a distance of 14 inches.

383882 tn?1254921985 My partner had J-pouch surgery on Feb and is having a reversal to reconnect and close his ostomy this weekend. During the time he's had the ileostomy pouch he's dehydrated twice. I'm wondering what are the chances of that after the surgery is complete.

Avatar n tn The small intestine would be connected to the anus. He would create something called a j-pouch out of the end of the small intestine. This j-pouch is meant to replace the rectum for storage of waste. Full control of bowel movements is retained. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this surgery and would be willing to tell us what life would be like post surgery. We have not definitely said we'd go with the ileoanal surgery instead of the ileorectal.
1288945 tn?1271972452 In 1990 I underwent a surgery called the J-pouch in which my colon was removed and an internal pouch was created so I would not have to wear a ostomy bag. The surgery was very successful but what I don't understand is why more people with UC don't undergo this surgery? I see an ad on TV for a medication for the disease yet once a person undergoes this surgery they are off all medications and can live a normal pain free life.
Avatar f tn I have had a J-pouch for 8yrs and it has been problem free. For the past month I have had severe pains in my pouch which is very painful when I go to the loo.I used to have good j-pouch capacity but now I am going to the loo constantly and can hardly walk at times. I will be talking to my surgeon next week but does anyone know what this could be?
