Finally, since about year he began giving him INVEGA (paliperidone) injection 50 mg which he is fine with it. The problem is that he has become sperm non-existent as he told me. Will it disappear in case he stop taking the injection after a long period of use???? I am very confused, particularly as he wants to get married and be a father.

For the past couple years I have been on paliperidone which is generic for invega which I know can cause extreme weight gain. Couple that with my increasingly poor eating habits, I definitely ballooned in weight. For about the past two months I have gone on a heavy calorie restriction that I know is deemed to be unsafe and unhealthy. I choose the intermediate/distance vision option (have my nondominant eye set for intermediate with a toric monofocal; wear a distance contact in my dominant and will eventual have an IOL set for distance). I like this option. As a near sighted person I was always struggling to see distance and like to be able to do so without glasses.

If I go with a single focus IOL I was thinking of having it set for intermediate rather than distance because I do a lot of work on the computer and I sew, etc. However, I am active (ski, bike.) My surgeon has said he has only set single focus IOLs at intermediate for wheelchair bound people and that it only gives you clear vision for 3 to 5 feet and he strongly recommends against it. m new to progressives and have been unable to adjust, the progressives i have take away peripheral completely and just give me a very small intermediate area, computer use is almost impossible and gives headaches with them. i was told my prescription is preety high that is why peripheral distortion is so much. Hello, I have a cataract surgery in my right eye(distance, dominant) and I am currently checking out mini monovision in my left eye with contact lens set for refrective errro of -1.5D to simulate mini monovision before going for cataract surgery in my left eye, with(Lft eye) which I can read computer, though to be more sharp and clear I need to go little closer. However, covering up my dominant right eye provides a somewhat blurry intermediate vision. I am concerned that if I have both eyes with a Restor lens that my intermediate vision (conversing with people, shopping, eating ,etc) will be blurry. I have never worn glasses in my life but developed cataracts in both eyes. My vision is excellent now because my dominant eye gives me the majority of good sight along with the clear Restor.

The natural lens with the cataract is removed, and then the artificial lens is inserted afterwards.

My surgeon said l should go with either Eyhance , a monofocal that gives both distance and a bit of intermediate vision or Vivity an EDOF which gives both distance and more intermediate then Eyhance but has a lower contrast level then Eyhance. My surgeon says his has good results with vivity .

I have very bad cataracts and had a Restore IOL put in my first eye five days ago. Distance vision came back in a few days to 20/25. Intermediate vision isn't too bad. Reading distance is only clear at one particular distance, approximately 12 inches. Any other distance is blurry. From what I've read about Restore, I expected the near distance to be very clear.

You had mono-vision not mini-mono. True mini-mono is one eye for distance and other for intermediate (distance bias) or one eye for intermediate and one eye for near. The reason that not all cataract surgeons do IOL exchange is that it is relatively rare (much less than 1%) of the cases that need it. Some cataract surgeons specialize in post operative rare complications like needing IOL exchange, scleral fixation of dislocated IOL, etc. I would seek out this type of ophthalmic surgeon.

I am nearsighted for 50 years and the thought of not seeing intermediate or close scares me. I want to have my dominant eye set for distance and my other to intermediate. My doctor said he wants to do both the same at -5 so i will be slightly nearsighted. I wanted one eye set to -1.50 and one to distance. Why would he say this and not do it the way i want. Hi, I am having cataract surgery on one eye next week. The other eye is myopic at -2.0. I can read with it and see at arm's length. I have decided to go with a traditional IOL (fixed focus) but can't decide whether to choose one for intermediate vision or for distance. I would really like to be able to see clearly without glasses 3-5 feet away, like sitting across the table from someone or having a conversation.

Thanks, Dr. Hagan, for the recently updated "Before You Consider Cataract Surgery" article My plan (being presently high myopia) is to have as good near and intermediate vision possible with a standard monofocal IOL and use progressives (as I do now) for distance. If I understand correctly, in order to get better intermediate as well as near, I'd go for a slight difference (mini monovision) in refractive error between the two eyes such as -1.75 and -3.00.

Then i had a western blot at 6 weeks post suspected exposure and it came back intermediate with p18 band equivocal. Then immediately i went for HIV RNA PCR Real time quantitative and it came back as HIV 1 virus not detected <20 copies/ml. But am not able to take out that one equivocal band from my mind. Do i need to go for further testing? Can HIV RNA PCR be false negative during intermediate westernblot. Please help me. I am going crazy..
