Painless lump in knee

Common Questions and Answers about Painless lump in knee

lump

Hi, I have a painless, relatively hard lump on the outside of my right knee. It only really caused me discomfort about three years ago after playing tennis for a long period---it throbbed for a day or two, I guess because of the pounding on the hard surface. Otherwise, I cycle, run on a trendmill and use the rowing machine fairly frequently with no problem. I've had this "bump" for five years or so. I used to do quite a bit of road running 10-15 years ago, maybe 20 miles a week.
Enlarged (but a lot smaller than the lump below my clavicle) Hard Painless Moves when I touch it (the lump below my clavicle doesn't) I'm not sick or anything. No fever, chills, night sweats, loss of appetite etc. I just get headaches, but I have had migraines since I was little so it's normal to me. So I'm not sure if I should be more or less worried! I really just want to find out what this is! CT scan should show it since they are doing my left clavicle and neck.
I've noticed it for a little less than 2 weeks now -Thank you in advance also it is not harder and painless
Then it all cleared up, but later i found a painless lump on my shin, which didn't hurt unless you pressed it hard. It was from that point on, i started having random pains, sometimes long and dull, and sometimes short and sharp. It doesn't really have a usual area, but it tends to happen more in my knee, middle shin and the upper thigh. Sometimes when i walk, my right knee clicks. Rarely, when i lie down for a while (this happened once or twice) my leg just jumps.
My 14 yr old poodle has a lump on her knee. I took her to the vet and I was told that it was a tumor. On March 15, 2012 when I took her it was as big as a golf ball, and since them it has grown as big as a baseball. Her vet informed me since she is so old he did not feel confident to do the surgery to remove it. She shows no symptoms of pain but she does look very uncomfortable. People tell me I should put her to sleep, but I am not ready and I don.t think she is either.
I have a large soft painless lump that suddenly appeared above my knee what could it be?
I get the same in the right knee. If I kneel full weight on the knee it feels as if i've knelt on a sharp flint. Really thought I'd done just that the first time it happened. Pain is intense as long as I keep weight on it. Localised below and to right of patella. I can't trigger the pain by running or by moving the joint in any way although the area is slightly tender if I press it hard. There is no lump or indication of any foreign body under the skin.
This is a fluid-filled lump at the back of the knee. This is caused by fluid built up under pressure within the knee cavity in response to an inflammatory problem within the knee. Another condition that can cause popliteal pain is 'popliteus tendinitis'. This is probably what you have. This is an inflammation of the tendon of the popliteal muscle. It causes pain on deep squatting and on standing up.
Ordering a Mammogram is the right thing to do to make sure that there isn't an underlying problem..and also to check the developing lump that you suspected having in the same breast, prior to the injury. I really hope that it's nothing serious, but it's always safer to have lumps in the breasts investigated. Please let us know,if you wish, about the results of your Mammogram. Wishing you all the best...
I also have the lump that has been growing in size over the last 4-5 years in the xyphoid area. Also have difficulty swallowing. Don't sleep on my stomach often - more of a side sleepr. Glad to hear that it is not serious.
My doctor put me on Amoxicillin(sp?) and the underarm lump decreased in size. The lump beneath the arm eventually burst and I treated it with peroxide and neosporin. Although the undarm lump isn't totally gone, it's very small and painless. But the problem is all these other small, uncomfortable bumps that have popped up since. What has kept them at bay is a treatment of mixed Lotrimin and Neosporin. Once in a while I'll clean the area with peroxide.
Almost a week on from that the node under the arm has definitely gone down although I can still feel it so hopefully in a few more days that will be completely down, today however I have noticed something else which is a lump (again very small) in the middle of my thigh, pretty much half way between my knee and hip on my quad muscle just under the skin, it’s not red or sore and as far as I can tell is nowhere near where I would expect to find a node.
I have a large lump on my rib that is right below my left breast. It is not in my breast but below my breast.I had a tumor removed a year ago in my right breast, which was benign, but this is strange. It is very large and very distinctive. Can you have a tumor on your rib and not in your breast that might be Breast cancer and what do you think it can be. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger.
2 years ago I had knee surgery which kept me on crutches for 11 weeks and still hobbling. The significance of the knee surgery is that during the recovery period (16 weeks) I had pains in my foot and leg as though a cop was beating me with a nightstick. Sudden impact type pains. Again, I tell my doctors. At the time, the lower back did hurt but I was adamant with docs that it was the MIDDLE of my back where I have stabbing pains.
I was reading all the post and seen that a warm cloth would help with the pain of the lump in my bikini area. As I read on further I decided to try the warm cloth, i added epson salts to the water and used the wash cloth as a compress. After I had finished reading the other post, I decided that I had held this long enough, when I took the cloth from the lump I noticed that there was a lot of brown puss coming from the lump.
Assuming you are otherwise healthy, this likely does not warrant an urgent appointment since you have not noticed any change in the area in years, but I would bring it up at your next visit. Importantly, if the area were to grow or if you were to develop other concerning symptoms, then I would go see your clinician and have it checked out sooner.
It happens about 2x a day, lasts a few seconds and it has moved around my body. Started in the left wrist, went to the left knee, then ankle, and the over to the right knee. Now it's been happening behind my right thigh for about 2 weeks. Very strange.
Globus hystericus is a subjective sensation where people feel a lump in the throat. At times, it is associated with difficulties swallowing. They are probably related to psychological problems. The most common cause is gastro esophageal reflux disease - GERD. GERD is treated by antacids, bland diet, small evening meals and elevation of the head of the bed.
of the hip thing goes away, as these things often do (like the periods of stiffness and pain in my left knee). You probably know the dangers of complaining to doctors too much unless something is really keeping you from your normal daily activities. I had one pretty uncomfortable day at work, but so far it's been tolerable otherwise. My experience has been that doctors rarely have clear-cut answers for you anyway.
I have a lump on my right side just below by ribs that my doctor said was a fatty tumor. since then I have found one on my right arm right by the elbow and recently one just below my left knee. Could it be something more serious?
It did not hurt at all to begin with, but now I have started to feel some pain (if its related to the lump or not is uncertain). The pain is in my left testicle, and continues down my leg and stops around my knee. After reading some other posts from people with similar symptoms, they often wrote about thick or hard veins near the testicle, and I feel that there are some noticable veins in my case as well.

Then I started feeling pain in my knee as well and after a little while the foot pain wasn't too bad but i had constant back and knee pain if i was standing for any periods of time. I try coughing or drinking but the throat noise does not go away or even change it. I can tell it is not in my lungs, but in my throat. I can breathe shallow and minimize the noise but I feel out of breath then. My daughters say this wheeze is not my snore. They say I wheeze before the snore on intake and then exhale. I hear the noise during the day but I really have to listen to hear it as there is always too much back ground noise.
I read there's a specific type of cyst for the shin-calf area , not sure exactly where yours is Popliteal Cysts A popliteal cyst, also called a Baker's cyst, is a soft, often painless bump that develops on the back of the knee. A cyst is usually nothing more than a bag of fluid. These cysts occur most often when the knee is damaged due to arthritis, gout, injury, or inflammation in the lining of the knee joint.
I appreciate the response. Thank you in advance for the answer to my question. Recently I noticed a lump in the inner lower gum, underneath the third molar on the right side (as seen from my "point of view". It could be the second molar as on both lower gums one tooth had been extracted from each, and they seem to travel.

I don't only want to know how much can be done to help facilitate its desolving, I do use hot packs, but how much longer will I continue to suffer pain, usually hot burning pain like hundreds of hot needles rushing into the area to feeling like someone is torching the site to complete sharp pain in the right knee and part of the leg as well? The swelling on the knee will also sometimes feel like its ready to burst as if it were an extremely bad, large pimple.
Well, Here I am 4 - 5 weeks after the discovery of a large, painless lump in my collarbone. Immediately I got up from my magazine read and looked in the mirror to find a huge visible mass where there used to be a dip in my collarbone. I got to researching it and diagnosed myself with a swollen lymph node...which could be the sign of lots of things, or nothing at all according to google, search engines, etc. I called my doctor and they didn't seem to panic...
