Avatar n tn For the past maybe two years I have had charlie horses occuring in my neck. Or maybe its in my throat because when a charlie horse comes about, if I swallow, it tightens it more. The on-set of the charlie horse I have noticed has varied. I had one once after coughing up some water I had swallowed while swimming. Another time I was playing with my dog on my bed (laying on my back) and extended my head back and a charlie horse started.

Avatar f tn I have just discovered a lump on my carotid pulse area, it's not painful at all, my GP is referring me to an ENT specialist but only as routine, I am female age 35, he said he would be very surprised if it is anything sinister, but I am very worried about this.
436191 tn?1256646306 It speaks of cases of Hashimotos (not Subactuate Thyroiditis) - in which there is extreme pain in the neck which radiates to ear/jaw/throat etc. I wondered if anyone here has heard of or experienced these symptoms with Hashimotos. I have a 2.4 cm nodule on my right thyroid (detected 7 years ago) and recently have tested for tpo antibodies and given the diagnosisi of Hashimotos. My thyroid levels are reading in normal range and the TSH is about .4 .

Avatar n tn I noticed this weekend a big lump in neck between adams apple and base of neck; the lump moves when i swallow - went to er and it said swollen cartilage - i'm not comfortable with this diagnosis. Anyone else experienced this? thanks.
Avatar n tn I'm just about 27 years old and I've had this hard lump under my ear for about 3 months now. Its growing and now it's about 3 cm long and 3 cm wide. It's not painful and I believe it's a lymph node. It's really hard- bone hard and it's stuck to something inside of my neck, I can barely move it. My daughter has been extremely sick for the past several months and so I basically put myself on the back burner. Now I'm realizing that wasnt smart.
Avatar n tn I've had a sort of lump on the back left side of my neck for about 2 years now. It's not very big, and it's situated in between the back of neck and the side of my neck kind of where the hairline begins. It has not grown in the two years since i've noticed it, it isn't sore to touch or painful whatsoever. As well, I can only feel it at certain angles and i really have to push into my skin to feel it, it feels hard like it could be a bone or a muscle or somthing.
Avatar n tn Lipomas occur in 1% of the population. They presumably arise from fat that may occur in the back, hips, neck or other parts in adults. An epidermal inclusion cyst is a sac like structure with skin debris inside. These types of swellings are usually not malignant. You should consult a surgeon for a proper diagnosis and treatment. The diagnosis is through physical findings. Sometimes a needle biopsy or a CT scan may be done to confirm the diagnosis or rule out any malignant changes.
Avatar m tn So I have a lump or inflammation of what I presume is a gland between my large neck muscle and under the back of my jaw line. Last week I was ok but developed a sore throat and headaches late last week and by the weekend I had a sore throat, vomited once and developed a sore neck and this lump all in the space of a day. I dunno what it is but if I turn my neck now it's not that painful but before it felt like I had strained a muscle in my neck and the lump itself is quite tender to touch.
Avatar n tn I had ductal carcinoma in situ and invasive ductal carcinoma. It DID hurt for years! My mammogram finally showed a change this year when it became invasive. The area of spiculation was 2 cm and assumed to be benign calcifications for ten Years! Get a second , third or fourth opinion if needed and get a biopsy.
Avatar f tn Sometimes breast can feel lumpy without a distinct lump, what you are feeling for in a self breast exam is a new lump or in the case of usually lumpy feeling breasts, you are looking for changes. Follow up with your doctor who can evaluate these changes and recommend whether you should move up the appointment or leave it as it is.
Avatar f tn Before the lump I had heavines of arm and discomfort in shoulder and upper back shoulder same side of the lump. (I don't know if these symptoms are related to the findings).
20646321 tn?1502729047 For the past year or so I have always had a small hard nodule at the base of my neck, but you couldn't see it.. I could just feel it. (Probably no bigger than a half a cm) it has been able to move with my skin and has never been painful. Since it never grew it never seemed like I needed to get it checked. 8 days ago I noticed the spot was sore and had grown a little bit, but not much. Over the course of the past week it has grown a LOT and became very red, painful, and warm to the touch.
Avatar n tn Since I exercise daily I thought it to be a knotted tendon or fluid pocket from stressing the muscles under the breast. It did not go away and in fact has gotten more painful; like a knot in my neck only now the "aching" is spreading. I made an appointment with my doctor who in turn set me up an appointment for a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound. The radiologist told me I have very thick breast tissue in spite of have very little fat but that the mass is quite worrisome to her.
