Common Questions and Answers about Pain relief ovarian cyst

pain

Avatar f tn Has anyone had to deal with pain from an ovarian cyst for over a month? Should I be concerned about having to wait 2 more weeks? Does anyone have suggestions for relieving the pain in the meantime? Thanks so much.
Avatar n tn The size of a cyst does not necessarily determine how much pain it causes. Small ones, especially when you put a high volume of them together which then pushes on other organs, can definitely cause pain. I'm not sure if the quantity has anything to do with PCOS or not and I am not much aware of that disease. You don't mention how old you are which can determine how you would be treated.

Avatar f tn Appendix inflammation? Ovarian cyst?
Avatar n tn i am a 40 year old female -- had my appendix removed 5 years ago when I had an ovarian cyst removed because it was causing severe pain in lower right quadrant. Last week i had a period and began experiencing severe lower right quadrant pain.
Avatar f tn I have been suffering from ovarian cyst pain off and on for the last 2 years in the last week the pain has become unbearable I went to the er a couple of days ago and they said that I have a large ovarian cyst on my right ovary today I am in so much pain that I cannot function please does anyone know what I can do to make the pain tolerable I have taken ibuprofen and used heating pads I even tried drinking camomile tea please help
Avatar n tn Heat was always very helpful for me. Both hot baths and microwave heat packs can get you some pain relief. But, if the pain persists, you should go back to your doctor see if anything has changed. If your cyst has grown or changed, it could account for the pain. Sometimes, doctors will give your birth control pills to try to help reduce the cyst and prevent others from forming. Hopefully, your doctor can help you find a solution! I hope you feel better soon!
Avatar f tn I am not sure why the anti-inflammatories made the pain worse. Ovarian cysts can cause a bit of pain and nausea so your symptoms are not unusual. And the pain caused by rupture can linger for some time. It seems someone I recall had pain that lingered for over a month after her cyst ruptured. I think she was prescribed antibiotics as the rupture caused or was thought to have caused infection. Of course, you do not want to take antibiotics unnecessarily.
Avatar f tn 2 1/2 years ago had laproscopic surgery to remove cyst and they found stage IV endo, drained the cyst and cleaned out endo. 3 months later cyst and symptoms were back. 2 years ago had uterus removed and endo cleaned out again and all was fine for a few months but then slowly symptoms came back. Last week I had cramping and gushes of clear vaginal discharge, no odor, which has now stopped. I now look 5 months pregnant and the pressure under my lungs is almost unbearable.
Avatar n tn My doctor gave me a shot to relieve the pain (it didn’t help) and pain medication (also not much relief) and referred me to have an ultrasound. March 2014 - Ultrasound US Pelvic (non OB) Transabdominal 1 results: INDICATION: Dysmenorrhea, rule out fibroids. FINDINGS: The uterus measures 11.7 x 4.3 cm in size and the endometrium measures 7mm in thickness. No free fluid is seen in cul-de-sac. The right ovary measures 5.0 x 3.4 x 2.1 cm and the left measures 5.4 x 1.8 x1.4 cm.
Avatar f tn I suffered pain from a 3.5 cm cyst and had a hysterectomy. I consider it to be one of the worst health care decisions I have ever made. I should've taken the "watch and wait" approach instead. The cyst was benign and now my libido is high due to life- saving Vivelle estrogen patch, but orgasms are weak and frustratingly long to achieve. If your doctor can give you lortab it may reduce that pinching feeling that comes with a cyst.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with vulvodynia last year. My ob/gyn stated i might have a weak pelvic floor (which I'm starting to think I do because I'm still experiencing vaginal pain and spasms around my period and now pelvic and rectum gurgling). Now I'm starting to think I might have ovarian cyst or Endometriosis. I've been experiencing nausea all the time and pelvic soreness around my period. Also I have discomfort in one of my hip and my leg feels tingly all the time but im not pain.
Avatar m tn Hello, A complex ovarian cyst is less common than simple ovarian cyst. At such a young age it can be dermoid cyst which is a type of complex ovarian cyst and is the most common type and develops during the childbearing age. Complex ovarian cysts are generally benign. The risk of malignancy is generally higher among postmenopausal women. You should get a repeat ultrasound and CT scan done. A CA125 blood test should also be performed.
1294482 tn?1354489288 I just felt achey, menstral cramps were worse than the cyst pain. I also had endometriosis and around AF I would get horrible pain that would put me in the bed for a few days but had surgery to remove that as well.

Avatar f tn Thanks for answering me. I'm thinking it's possibly gas pains. Today has been one of the easiest days. Definitely taking it easy.
422425 tn?1307992990 t know about your condition, but it worked very well for my cyst pain and pain from my periods. Best of luck.
Avatar f tn You should not be left to that kind of pain without a solution for at least relief from the pain. If you cannot walk, go to the bathroom etc, how much worse does it need to get? I vote second opinion.
763734 tn?1249384736 My doctor said it was not related to my ovarian cyst. She told me to schedule a diagnostic mammogram and ultra sound. Yesterday, they found a complex cyst in my left breast. They are going to take a waiting watching approach to that also. Is all this just a coincidence? Seems to me what ever is happening on my left ovary maybe affecting my left breast. Or could it be the other way around???
Avatar f tn ve been on birth control(nexplanon) for over two years straight, why would it be a simple follicular cyst, which usually happens when you ovulate? I do not believe the cyst on the "right" would be big enough to cause pain and pressure on the left side. Can anyone help please?
