Avatar f tn I have now gone threw the entire course of ear drops and still having the symptoms of swelling in the neck with a little pain as well as a tender left lymph node. They are now referring my to the ENT here in town. Someone please help me ease my mind. Could it be that the infection is deeper than what the ear drops can reach and the reason for the swelling in my neck on that side and the left lymph node tender and swollen?

Avatar f tn Hi For about 3 months my neck hurts, especially when i try to tilt my head back or down to the left. The pain radiates to my ear and up the left side of my head. I cant sleep on my right side , the pain is so intense. Should i see someone for this?
Avatar n tn Itching, and a feeling of fullness inside the ear - usually the first sign of infection * Swelling of the ear canal * Watery discharge from the ear * Severe pain and tenderness in the ear - especially when moving the head and jaw, or gently pulling the earlobe. Unlike a middle ear infection (otitis media), the pain of an ear canal inflammation or infection is worse when you chew, when you press on the "tag" in front of the ear, or when you wiggle your earlobe.
Avatar n tn I had a blocked ear last week. i asked my gp about it and he said he can see wax. so he gave me softner. but after 2 days my ear started to hurt ALOT. i went to the gp again and he sent me to see an ENT specialist. i didn't get to see one but i saw a doctor who said my ear canal is inflamed so he gave me antibiotics. I took them for 5 days and the pain got worse, and my jawline under the infected ear is swollen and it's hurting right underneath my ear in my neck etc.
Avatar n tn Take a tube sock and fill it with dry rice and tie the sock off and then microwave it for 1 minute and 30 seconds and then apply it to your ear. It will ease the pain and draw out the infection. All the pain and numbness is from the infection being so bad. But i would call your family doc back and tell them.
1527510 tn?1392301344 I don't often post in here, and I am usually more confident in what's wrong when I'm feeling certain symptoms but this I'm not sure about. Just wanted to see if anyone else has an idea since it's the Easter weekend so only urgent out of hours or ER is open. My right ear has been giving me bother for about a week now. Always kind of 'annoying' and full of wax in the morning. I would randomly get itchy/shooting pains through it.
Avatar m tn She said ears look better and that pain down neck was from my tmj and to put heat on it. So a day later i woke up with red mark on outer ear and worse pain down neck and still trouble swallowing. Went to see her again. She told me red mark was from sleeping on that ear. I said tmj does not make neck swell she felt it and said it was really tight. I said still having trouble swallowing. She took scope and looked way back my throat. I was told i have vocal paralysis i said how do i get that.
Avatar n tn Just to add -- my last abscessed tooth -- which I just had removed last week actually felt like an earache at times. If I wouldn't have also had extreme discomfort from the tooth itself, I would have thought it was an ear infection. It's weird but the pain seems to travel to different parts of your face from a bad tooth, especially in and around the ears.
Avatar m tn Anyways mid way through the holiday I had pain on the right side of my neck and a little in my ear as the holiday progressed the pain was less apparent. The pain was not chronic but more of a nuisance like a muscle ache in the neck and a feeling of a clogged ear. Now somewhat 3 weeks after the holiday I have had the same feelings in ear and neck near enough everyday since. They are not excruciating but as I say they just feel as a muscle ache.
Avatar n tn Ear infection has nothing to do with anything sexual.
Avatar n tn Symptoms range from, sharp pain in the neck lymph node, groin pain, stomach pain, back muscle pain, shortness of breath, lack of concentration & memory , constantly feeling fever and fatigue, ear pain, ear pop ( like the air is stuck inside the ear ). Exercise helps for little bit. I work out. I eat right. I know it's not anxiety for sure. Pros: Vitamin helps, the right one. Cons: Too much brings fatigue. Has anyone ever experience Vitamin causing fatigue.
Avatar f tn It was hard to turn head and drive. I thought I had an ear infection so I receive an anti-biotic from my doctor without a visit. Pain is getting worse and I am nausea off and on. What do you think is the problem?
Avatar f tn On Jan 13 I had muffled sound and a little pain in my right ear, that night it got worse. I felt the right side of my face swollen and had pain in my ear which did not allow me to sleep at all. I got some antibiotics by Thursday evening and was feeling a lot better by the 16th.
Avatar n tn About a week ago it felt like a lymphnode under my chin was swollen and kind of sore. That worried me. Yesterday I started having ear pain on that same side. Today the ear pain is worse and my ear feels full, it's hard to describe. It hurts from my lymph node and into my jaw and ear. I am the type of person that always jumps to the worst conclusion. Could it be that I just have an ear infection and that the swollen lymph node was trying to fight it and lost?
Avatar m tn left neck swollen cheek, swollen headaches and ear pain dizziness and fatigue.
Avatar n tn sinus headache, sore eyes, post-nasal drip, swollen right lymph node in my neck, a little pain in my right ear, and a little pain in my right tonsil. i'm also shivering for a while and then feeling really hot and sweaty (fever maybe? i don't have access to a thermometer).
Avatar m tn s wrong with your ear, stuff you regular doc might have missed. If you have a sinus infection, by the way, it can make the ear hurt. If you like to swim in a pond or creek, fungus can get in there, you can put a drop of alcohol and a drop of white vinegar in there, it helps prevent stuff from growing. If you hurt your neck recently, the discomfort can migrate up to the ear.
1626225 tn?1306459118 I don't really know where to begin. It started several years ago with loosing my voice and didn't know why. Went to see a specialist and found out that I had irrated esophagus which was cused from acid reflux "silent" because I had not idea that it was there. I started taken Kapidex and it didn't work, then proliced and Zantac and didn't work either. Now my acid reflux is so bad that I have constant taste in my mouth from the time I get up until evening.
Avatar f tn Neck lymph nodes can be the result of tonsillitis, pharyngitis (infection of upper throat), infection in mouth, caries in tooth, internal ear infection, outer ear infection, eczema, dermatitis, dandruff, breast cancer, fungal infection, other cancers like lymphoma etc. If you had flu like symptoms initially then it could be due to infectious mononucleosis too. A CT would give a clear picture of what the swelling is—a lymph node, a cyst or a neurofibroma or lipoma. Take care!
Avatar n tn Hello, I had a crown put on a couple of years ago that never seemed to fit quite right. There is a space between the crown itself and the gum line and the metal that was used is visible. Within the past few months I have started to notice a nasty odor coming from this crown when I floss, as well as some minor bleeding. The gum beneath the crown has recently started to cause a dull aching pain.
Avatar f tn Other conditions to be strongly ruled out in your case could be Meniere’s disease of the ear, wax in the ear, infection of the middle or inner ear, and benign positional vertigo. Hence it is important to consult an ENT specialist and a neurologist too.
Avatar n tn Ear infections or viruses can cause this heavy ear as I call it (when it feels full and sound is muffled) and ringing. Is he dizzy as well? The infection or virus itself can cause it. But if you have an ear infection, it also can cause a bit of damage after the fact as well. Another common issue is Eustachian Tube dysfunction. This tube can crush in on itself and cause ringing and fullness/hearing disruption. An ENT can work on that with you.
Avatar n tn I know many people with this and it can cause headaches, neck pain, ear pain, all kinds of pain in your head/face area. First I would talk with your regular doctor then maybe a referral, if your doctor agrees, to someone who specializes in TMJ disorders. Please remember this is just a guess, so see your family doctor first OK. Good luck and let me know how it goes. Take care.
Avatar n tn I also notice that my left side of my neck, behind the ear, bottom base of the skull and down my neck hurts. soreness. When I move my neck to the right side, it's sore....can this also be a sign of a sinus infection? I'm tired of feeling this way.
