Felt burst of pain at left base of neck. Think I blacked out momentarily. Shaking badly. But because the pain was just a burst, I thought I was OK. I contacted my neurosurgeon's office and was sent for a neck x-ray, which showed no fracture. Within 24-36 hours of accident developed severe neck pain in left side of neck; head tilted and turned far right. Feb - Aug: Because the neurosurgeon said I had whiplash, I turned to a D.O.

This could be signs of heart problems if your getting pain up your shoulder, neck and jaw. I heard you get pain in your jaw this way. You should really go to a cardiologist to monitor your heart! Especially if heart disease runs in the family! I wish you the best.

I do not, nor do I have a history of Osteoarthritis, or fibromyalgia....or celiac disease.....and yet I know my body, and it is crying to me....something is wrong. It is discouraging to read some of the blogs, and stories.....I only wish I had been offered a test PRIOR to the implant surgery to determine if I am allergic....
I found myself wanting to bite down to help with the pain, it started hurting my left ear, and now the pain has moved into my lower left row of teeth and kind of into my neck, like a strained feeling in my neck. Some day's I feel nothing for panin, and others it is pretty bad. I still have a wisdome tooth on that upper left side, that has grown in oddly forward. The pain isn't really in one area alone, and like I said some day's it just goes away. What could this be?

Hi Welcome to the MedHelp forum! Sharp pain in the side of face, head and neck could be due to injury to a nerve or pinched nerve, an infection or a trauma. Hence it could be Trigeminal neuralgia, abscess in tooth, exposed root canal, internal ear infection, maxillary sinusitis, TMJ, migraine, herpes (recurrent) without rash or fibromyalgia localized to face. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor. Hope this helps.

Hi, My mom started suffering from an acute face (right side) and neck pain about 2 weeks ago. She went to the hospital and they gave her some painkillers and injections. They performed a CT scan on her and some blood tests, all of which turned out to be normal. Today she had other blood test done (EBvirus, Herpes Zoster) but the results are not in yet. The only thing that is a little "abnormal" for her, is that her hemoglobin was over 15. She also has Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Hi Welcome to the MedHelp forum! The neck pain can be due to stiff neck or torticollis but in a child with fever, stiff neck should be investigated for meningitis. Please take her to a doctor immediately. Take care!

I'm lying here (sitting, standing are too painful after 5 minutes) googling and doodling, whiling away the hours, woozy from the dope or wincing and gritting the teeth, or a balance between the two. MRI coming up, but can't get excited about results when I read about others' experience with surgery, when pain relief is far from certain (and lets face it, why else would anyone contemplate the knife). I feel guilty for being a burden on my family, friends, community.

Hi, Chronic sinusitis usually manifests with cough, thick greenish discharge from nose to the back of throat, headache, pain in the jaw and teeth area, pain and swelling near the eyes, cheeks, throat etc. Neck pain along with these symptoms can be radiated pain and could be due to chronic sinusitis. But if you are having only neck pain then it could be related to trauma to the cervical spine, slipped disc, muscle sprain, hypertension etc.
Hi 3 weeks ago i woke up and thought i had a bit of a stiff neck. the pain started on the back of me head just in one spot. after a few days the pain seemed to travel all the way up the left side of my head to my temple. The left side of my head feels weird. I am aware of my ear even my teeth on left side. The doctor told me he thinks its muy muscle which runs from the bottom of your head right up the side to the front. and told me to do gentle head movements on an evening.
