Avatar f tn I have had a constant neck ache for about 3 weeks now. It is worse while sleeping and arising in the morning. Eventually through the day, it feels better (but not healed). I have tried different sleeping positions but nothing has helped. Of course this is just one of the mysteries that we all experience with MS. Maybe it's not MS related at all.
1457315 tn?1288459746 t want to go through all of that again. What is making my neck go WRY? A physical therapist at work said sleeping under a ceiling fan. Any thoughts?

And it comes with verry annoying pains in both temples and ears and behind my eyes as well. And thats not the worst part, my shoulders both are in pain when I move them, or lift things. All the way down to the palms of my hands, and then when I change sleeping positions at night, my hips hurt the same way and all the way down to my feet ..

Avatar n tn About 3 or 4 days ago I started getting pain starting on both sides of my neck, starting at my jaw line. It radiates down and into my shoulders. It's a kind of burning pain. Don't take any medications. When it happens it lasts a few minutes then stops but usually starts again right away, then stops totally.
Avatar n tn Without medication pain level is above 10, after medication pain level is 9. My pain is so severe that it appears to lock the turning of my neck to the right. I am asking for any help regarding if there is exercises for this type of problem. My mornings after waking are the worse for me. I have been sleeping with 2 pillows under my legs, flat on my back, and 1 pillow under my head but this doesn't seem to be helping either. Is there any help for me?
Avatar f tn s way worse!!! Every time I move my neck it hurts. When I turn it to the side, Its a pretty sharp pain about an 8 out of ten that shoots all the way from the top to bottom. Letting my head lay straight down doesn't really hurt. Turning it in any way or putting it back hurts. Sleeping hurts. And I never rallied how much Swoosh my head to move my bangs until recently, when it started to hurt. I am so tired of this.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have a neck problem too. I have neck pain just by sitting and tingling and numbness in my right arm. Anyways, I found this book on how to treat your back and neck by Robin McKenzie. It gives you exercises you can do. I started doing them my condition improved a lot. I still have problems but getting better. You should give it a try.

Avatar n tn Last night I tried sleeping in a position beneficial to my spine, by propping up my legs on pillows and laying on a rolled up pillow under my neck. I fell asleep like that and woke up like that and this morning the pain was agony...ten times worse. It really feels like someone twisted my neck violently. Doing anything hurts, even just keeping my head straight or nodding the slightest bit. Even taking a deep breath sends a sharp stab down my neck and back. Where the heck did this come from??
Avatar f tn If you sleep on your side, try putting a pillow in between your legs - this helps to keep the spine in better alignment. If you are a back sleeper, you can try putting a couple of pillows under your knees to help keep the pressure off your lower back and hips. They also sell wedge type things made for this purpose also that tend to work better - mainly because they don't slide around like the pillows could.
Avatar m tn My wife has had the above condition for several years. Sudden pain from top of neck which travels almost to back of her head. Until recently, these episodes have ended almost immediately and the pain went away. The episodes occur about twice/three times per month.... always during the morning - before noon. Very recently, the attacks have become worse whereby she has to lie down and take a pain killer (GP advice).
Avatar n tn I have a pain on the left side of my neck and my left arm has a tingling feeling all the way down to my fingers. I've had this feeling for about 2 years now. know what could be causing it?
Avatar f tn Chronic neck pain is difficult to treat. You describe everything you sould have with neck pain, cracking, popping, difficulty sleeping. You really need to back to the doctor and start over if he dosen't respond to this then maybe find another docotor.
1823499 tn?1370090289 Had problems sleeping before surgery. Really have problems sleeping after surgery. I have slight case of sleep apnea. My uvula is too big. Lol. But since my surgery I wake up in pain in neck and head. I toss and turn all night and I can only sleep on my right side. I cannot lay on the back of my jead at all. Anyone else have this problem or any suggestions?
Avatar n tn Whilst out running I fell down a steep slope tumbling head over heels and hitting my neck & lower back on rocks and knocking myself out for approximately 30 seconds, I went to doctors who told me its just bruised and there's nothing wrong. they did not look at my back or neck. I have shooting pains and feelings of water being poured down my legs, any pressure on the back of my neck gives me horrendous headache and my vision goes blurry. I am worried as this has been a week and half now.
Avatar f tn I had been so exhausted from the last three days of not sleeping and being in incredible pain that I actually managed to fall asleep after some of the pain subsided. (For a while, I thought I was going to have to leave the study and go to the hospital. Pain has been awful. ) She said she can't give me a full report but it appears as though I only had a few minor incidences during the night. I'm guessing that means I don't have sleep apnea.
Avatar n tn However, there were no other symptoms except fatigue which I felt was secondary to the pain and stress of the neck. I have kept up with the chiro and gotten more relief over time. He does not mechanically adjust it, but does use an electric stimulation which really helps the mobility and the pain is reduced. It's about 5 weeks now and I am much improved, but still going 2X a week. Had a friend who had the exact same symptoms, had spinal tap which was negative for meningitis.
12680822 tn?1429498573 Anyone else having trouble sleeping at 4 weeks? My body seems to think I'm having my period and I am in excruciating pain when I sleep lying down in any position. The only thing that works is to elevate myself with two pillows stacked on eachother under my neck and shoulders. After thinking I'd have to accept never getting sleep again I actually slept through at least half the night so far and I'm ecstatic!
