Call your doctor and inform them, they will let you know if it's something serious. I've had arm/neck pain and it was blamed on the discs in my back....never had any xrays or anything done about it because it's not constant. Also, think about what you've been doing lately, have you lifted anything heavy? Did you wake up with the pain? How old are you? Do you have any other problems going on that it could be related to?

Hello I had a neck fusion at c5/c6 about 3 years ago and now I have neck pain, shoulder to shoulder pain, and pain through my left arm, tingling and some numbness on two small left fingers and some headache. My recent MRI shows I have a broad-base disk bulging at c/4/c5 with AP canal diameters of about 8 mm, @ c3/c4 minimal disk bulge and c6/c7 minimal broad-base disk bulge. Can I get the prestige disk replacement and could it help with the problems I am having?
About a month ago I began having excruciating pain in my left breast with swelling and itching. The pain radiated into my arm pit and down my arm. Then I began to have pain in my neck and found many swollen nodules under my jaw bone and one, somewhat large nodule, just above my collar bone. After a mammogram and US, they found a 2cm highly dense mass at 1 o'clock. Highly suspcious of malignancy. I had a FNA and a US guide core biopsy.
I have had constant aching on my neck, left upper arm and tingling all the way down to my fingers. In 1996 I was told I had a bulging C-5 disk and the options were either surgery or non-invasive treatment. Needless to say I chose the latter and for the last 12 years accupuncture has helped me alleviate the pain and live confortably. Now it has come back and even with some accupuncture it has not eased.
I'm having occasional trouble with pain on the left side of my neck, jaw and arm. It comes and goes. I've had a CT of my head done (clean) as well as an MRI of my brain area and neck (both clean). The doctor who ordered the MRI gave me another doctor's name if the problems continued. I don't know whether I've pinched a nerve somewhere or having some sort of circulatory problems.

I have been having pain running down my left arm, for a couple of months now and when I also have this pain it goes into the back of my neck and feels like I have heart burn. My elbow kills but most of all the burning sensation on heart burn. It is very strange and I can't seem to figure out what is going on. When I told my dr. she told me I had tennis elbow. But it still doesn't seem to answer the question of why I have the heart burn feel and the tention in my neck and shoulder.
Dear Doctor, For approximately 3 years now I have been suffering from chronic upper back pain with headaches, neck pain and left arm tingling. The upper back pain being the worst of it. It took pulling teeth but an MRI was finally done on my lumbar, thoracic, and cervical spine. Pre MRI xrays were done as well. The findings showed mild C5-6 and C6-7 neural foraminal stenosis possibly secondary to mild bony overgrowth of the associated uncovertebral joints.
Anyways, I have been experiencing chronic left sided pain (arm, shoulder, and neck) along with back pain in the middle since February. I have had this on and off for about 2 years, but it has been chronic for almost 3 months. I wake up with it in the morning and go to bed with it at night. It ranges from a dull ache (almost like the area is weak) to a sharp pain. I have had so much testing done in the past 3 months that I don't know where to turn.
Patient with headache, neck pain and left arm numbness. TECHNIQUE: A multiplanar, multi-sequential MRI of the brain was obtained without IV contrast. FINDING: The patient demonstrates multiple areas of T2 hyperintensities scattered throughout both hemispheres, particularly in the periventricular area. At the same timed there is a rounded shaped lesion in the left Centrum semiovale that measures about 4.5 mm x 5.2 mm in diameter.
Starting this past weekend, I've been experiencing sharp pounding pain right behind my left ear running down my neck into my left arm. When this was happening I had a hard time with my vision, along with coherency. I don't want to see my PA, I do not believe she will do anything to help me. The unfortuante part is that I am in the military and have to go through certain obstacles to even see a real MD instead of a PA. I'm I being a hypercondriac? Is this all just an illusion in my head?
After going to therapy my pain began to worsen and hurt in the back of my neck next to my spinal cord which then had pain radiating down my left arm and left chest. If I barely touch that area on my neck I cause the pain to become very sharp in those affected areas, the pain in my neck is unbearable and feels almost like bone on bone rubbing. I was wondering if this was a possible pinch nerve, cervical slipped disc or just a muscle sprain?
