I was having extreme pressure and gurgling with the pain. Also tightness in my chest and minor pain there. I have been taking NSAIDS for close to ten years now , I have been to the ER 5 times this week I had 2 full blood work ups, 3 urine screens, a lower cat scan w/o contrast , an unoffical ultrasound the dr called it,and chest xray And they said other than my kidney function being a little low everything looked ok.
Hi, so i went to the doctor for having awful stomach pain in the center of my chest right under my breasts and nausea. first they thought it was acid reflux and when the pills hardly helped me that they had prescribed they were sure i had an ulcer and gave me a blood test, turns out this came out negative. they were so sure thats what it was, and since it isnt, im worried if it could be anything worse or maybe better.. what is wrong with my stomach!

I have had what feels like chest pain through to my back for over a month now; with series of stomach spasms, diarrhea, and nausea. The chest/stomach pain is always worse after a meal; much worse with fatty, spicy, or ruffage food items. I have had and ultrasound, CT, EGD, and pipda scan. All tests showed no abnormalities and the scan showed 60% ejection fraction. I feel that my physician(s) are not taking my pain seriously because nothing is showing up with testing.
I have been experiencing severe chest and abdominal pain for two nights now. It lasts between 4-8 hours ... I am fairly certain I have ulcer(s) in my stomach or duodenum somewhere but I don't know how to treat them. I keep hearing and reading so many different remedies from several sources; is milk bad for it or not? does cayenne pepper really help or aggravate? Should I avoid taking antacids or not? I can't sleep on my side or stomach, strictly on my back and this is killing me.

In January of this year (2008) I was having heartburn so bad it made me sick with feeling of muscle cramps on the right side of my chest. My doctor prescribed a 2 week course of Nexium. The heartburn went away for a few days after the 2 weekes but returned. Maalox used to help but after a few days of constant heartburn the doc told me to buy Prilosec which worked well.
Do these symptoms sound like it could be a possibility? Chest pain from the middle to the left, middle and left back and shoulder pain, loss of appetite, and nausea.
About 2 weeks ago I started to get very bad indigestion which I've never had before. The chest pain happens when I'm relaxed or when I exercise, it really doesn't matter. I'm starting to worry a lot and I think that is making it worse or giving me an ulcer! What should I do? Go back to my doctor again? See some sort of specialist? Not sure what to do... Oh yeah, I'm not taking any medication or had any history of any illness or diseases.
I am a 23 year old female-nonsmoker/nondrinker/normal BMI who began having chest pain 4 months ago. I believe the pain was initially onset due to stress (I was switching jobs at the time). Stress is gone (went back to old job) but pain remains: blood test (hepatitis, h pylori), EKG, gall bladder/liver function, echo cardio/stress are all normal. I have been treated with arthritis medication for costocondritis and been perscribed both prilocec and nexium with no help.
I still get really bad chest pain and burping a lot. I have had chest xrays, and stress test done my heart is fine. The pain gets so bad sometimes I don't know what else to do. I also have syncope so I really need to eat foods high in salt which does not always help my heartburn. I have tried syncope medicine but it made me very sick. I am not sure what else to do. I also suffer from migraines and IBS am on meds for both of them.

Hello Doctor I'm 25 years old male, for the last few days I've been having chest pain, on and off. I noticed that after sleep everything is fine, then after like half an hour it starts. There is no particular reason why it starts, I can sit in one place and it will start, then it will stop after half an hour or hour, recently I've been having it for hours. Only way to stop it is to go to sleep, and when I wake up I will feel good , but then it will start again.
It hurts only on the left side of my chest along the line where the underwire of my bra is. Could this be another ulcer or still pleurisy? It feels very similar to the ulcer pain that I had.
in your name refers to birth year 1974, you are young and angina is really uncommon. Your doctor should decide the next step. If you have chest pain, along with a positive stress EKG (ST depressions) angiography is usually indicated. It also depends on your risk profile (heart disease in family, smoking, blood pressure, cholesterol, etc).
This is something I've been dealing with for a while. At any given time I get a really "tight" pressure type pain in my chest. most of the doctors I've seen have told me acid reflux or Indigestion. I've tried various types of Anti acids, zantac,I've even been prescribed ulcer meds with no luck. It really weirds me out because It happens at any time. I wake up in the middle of the night with it sometimes. It lasts about 5 to 10 minutes.
I know what you mean I have similar issues I have been dealing with for two+ years. I get chest pain mostly center of chest, sometimes to either side, with thickness under my tongue, feel dizzy and some left arm sensations( sometimes pain other times tingling) and nausea. Had all the tests done and cannot find anything. i wish someone could tell me what this is if it isn't cardiac. I'm afraid to give up on the cardiac in case its something weird and something happens. Still pursuing cardiac.
The problem has been that this chest pain has not ceased since Sunday. Originally my chest pain was located on the left area of my chest by the ribcage and would float around my pectoral area. On Thursday the 21st I went to my family doctor. I told her the story that I tell you now. She ran an EKG on me, took my pulse, and measured my blood pressure. All was fine. She prescribed me prescription strength Ibuprofen (600 MG) and told me to take this three times a day for the next week.
Duodenal is more common. Duodenal ulcer causes pain in the epigastric area ( the area you have mentioned). The pain is relieved by food. Pain usually disturbs sleep and you wake up in the middle of the night because of pain (though not in all cases). GERD produces heart burn, excessive salivation, chest discomfort, which are worsened by bending down, by alcohol, smoking, after meals and uncommon symptoms like asthma, sore throat, stickiness in throat, cough, dental erosions.
It seems to ha e helped me abdominal pain, but I am still getting the upper back pain. And now, just a few days ago, I've started having pain in my right chest every time I swallow. It almost feels like something is trapped there but I wasn't eating anything when it started. Are these common symptoms of an ulcer?? Wouldn't the meds have fixed it by now? Or is it maybe something else.
This stopped after a day or two but now it is reoccurring on and off. I could be fine for a few days and then the pain in the chest will come again. I find that I am being woken at night by a sort of burning pain in my chest area which sometimes spreads down to the stomach. I have also found that I am waking with a bad taste in my mouth some mornings and with slight pains in both of my arms.
Consult a gastroenterologist and work towards taking treatment regularly and healing your ulcer. Peptic ulcer pain is usually a burning pain. They commonly occur in the stomach and duodenum. Stomach ulcers cause pain on eating and duodenal ulcers cause pain on fasting (2-3 hrs after eating). Peptic ulcers are eroded areas in the lining of the digestive tract usually in the stomach and duodenum.
Still have the acid feeling in my mouth, a headache and sore neck and nausea and some other symptoms (chest/ back pain, plus feel like I have a slight temperature). Is it normal to feel so exhausted with gerd? All I feel like doing is sleeping. I have compensated for the lost sleep over the weekend but are still tired. Would I know if I had an ulcer? Generally if I do get reflux it passes fairly quickly. This feels different. Just concerned. Thanks in advance for any feedback.
Please,i have severe pains in my chest and back for quite a while now,i went to hospital and did lots of tests and i was diagnosed with ulcer, ever since then i've been on omeprazole 20mg and treating ulcer, but still yet the chest and back pain is still there and won't go.I need help seriously!!!
I also have pain in my left chest/rib area and constant horrible heart burn. I generally feel better when I am up and about. On top of that, however, is swelling: not painful or hot or red. Soft, puffy, almost liquid swelling. The first place was in my temple almost immediately joined by swelling at the base of my skull. I treated it like a sinus infection after a ct scan revealed a left maxillary mucus retention cyste and it went away.
I had an ultra sound for gb and no stones just a polyip, but now, 2 mos. later i'm back with pain across my chest and upper right side. So what does the ulcers meds to if it's gb cause I too feel it doesn't do a thing. What do you if they don't want to take it out?
