I started having chest pains about 2 days later, so last friday I went to the ER because I called my doctor and they said chest pain isnt something to mess around with. The ER ran some bloodwork and a chest XRAY and released me with costochondritis. They gave me 5 days of predisone(steroids) for inflammation and some pain killers(hydrocodone or something). I took one day off of work and than I worked all day saturday and sunday.
THE CHEST PAIN STARTED IN THE CENTRE OF MY CHEST AND RADIATED INTO MY ABDOMEN. THE CHEST PAIN STARTED TO COME ON WHEN I WAS IN BED ON TUESDAY 23.29. WHEN SITTING ON MY COMMODE A FEW MINUTES LATER, MY LEGS STARTED TO HURT (AS THOUGH BLOOD WAS BEING STOPPED). THE NEXT CHEST PAIN WAS AT 12.06 AND LASTED UNTIL 12.17. THIS WAS CENTRAL CHEST PAIN AND THIS ALSO HURT ON BREATHING IN. MY CHEST FELT LIKE I HAD A HEAVY WEIGHT ON IT AND I ALSO HAD A TIGHTNESS ACROSS THE IN THE CENTRE OF MY CHEST.

I am a 49 year old female and have had several episodes of radiating arm pain. It starts in one arm and quickly radiates down both arms lasting only a few seconds. The pain is very severe. I have no chest pain or shortness of breath. I have had an ECG, stress echo and have seen a cardiologist. Everything is normal on my stress echo. The only thing I have is hypertension. The first episode I had was approx 6 - 12 months ago. Then I had 3 episodes within a 4 week period.
However earlier this week these pains have come back harder, now when i laugh or simply move a certain way a shooting pain comes from my back and shoots down the back of my arm to my elbow. It never affected my arm until a day or two ago. For instance last night I bent down after a shower to put my hair in a towel and a searing pain went through my back and down my arm, it actually made me cry it was so intense and unexpected. This only happen on my left side of my upper back/arm/chest area.
This lasted about 3 days. I did not eat. Since then, I have had this pain in my upper left abdomen and it radiates to the back. My stool is light. Don't know if it is considered clay colored. I went to my primary and he suggested gallbladder, even though the pain was in the left. He did blood work and ultrasound and said everything looked. The pain came on so bad the one day I called 911 cause I thought I was going to pass out and I was home alone with my daughter.
Severe pain from ribs radiating from ribs to upper chest to middle and lower back. Lower back spasms and ribs cramping.
But I've also gotten pain radiating into my chest and arms...and it has become more and more constant. I was actually sent to ER once when I called my cardio late in the day...the doc did the enzyme workout and said "no heart attack"...pain was probably from carrying around my 2 year old on my left side (he weighs 35 lbs). This was LAST fall. Anyway, I have had multiple echos, stress test in 03/06 and various blood work...everything says I am fine. I run 9-12 miles a week...
I would go to the ER. Chest pain is not something to mess around with, especially if it's radiating.

I went back to work a couple days later and after a few hours started to feel lightheaded w/minor back and chest discomfort. Once again went to ER. CT scan, ekg, enzymes, and X-Rays normal. I did have some kind of reaction when sitting up on the hospital bed where my vitals dropped and I broke out in a sweat which further scared me (Doc said it was just a normal vagal response).
It only hurts when I lower my shoulders all the way. The pain is at the center of my chest and can go to my back at the center. I played basketball last Saturday and I was chest checking people so I'm guessing and hoping it's brusised I haven't had any other symptoms. Does this sound serious?
I also get these pains in my lower back, radiating to my pelvis region. it feels something like I pulled a muscle or something. I am also having trouble with my stomach, which get bloated often, so I get gas. I don`t know if these things are connected or not.
Sometimes it was sharp stabbing, sometimes just a dull but painful ache on the left side radiating to my arm. I ended up going to the A+E several times and each time the ECG and bloods came back fine and therefore was basically just dismissed as a hypochondriac. The pain finally died down in about March meaning i'd had it about 5 months.
I am a 41 yo female and I am currently having chest pain. It is a sharp stabbing like pain that comes and goes and radiates into my back. No immediate family history of heart disease and I am not post menopausal. I also do not smoke or have never smoked, but am around 2nd hand smoke sometimes. This has been going on for 2-3 weeks with an increase in episodes. I've also had a cholecystectomy many years ago.
I was just wondering if being pregnant has targeted to come back?
My husband is 32 years old in great shape and has been having chest pain, upper left back pain, lower abdominal and side pain, and shooting pain down his left arm with some numbness. He has been dealing with these symptoms for a while now and keeps going to the doctor and running all these tests and nothing. Yesterday, while he was at work he had to leave and go to the e.r. and of course nothing, they told him to go to his doctor. which is what we have been doing.
I have had in the past 3 pancreatic attacks. Pain on my left side radiating to my back and the coming straigt to my heart. Iwas hospitalized each time just for the night and then it passed. For the past 6 weeks I have been experiencing pain under my chest on both sides and often to my back. I have noticed that I am gassy a little constipated. It seems when I eat I start to feel bad approx l0 to 40 minutes after. I am going to go in tomorrow for I guess it is called an endoscopy.
I can relate to your pain ( see my post dated 02/02/06, chest pain / undiagnosed ). Although the type of pain is somewhat different, it souds familiar. I have done some research and am looking into the costochrondritis as well. Keep me posted and good luck.
My stomach is happier when I don't put anything in it or ask it to do anything. My chest pain is center to left side radiating to my left side/middle of shoulder blades in back. Still some burning and recently lower abdominal cramping that I never had before. All my tests are normal - h pylori neg too. Ulcer biopsy said 'minimal chronic gastritis'. The constant chest/back pain worries me. I have never even had heartburn before this!!! Any thoughts on what could be wrong with me??
