i am too, but the reason for this posting is because, as of a few days ago, i now am feeling faint when ilight>laughingilight> and my ilight>chestilight> feels 'tight' as well. i check my blood pressure all the time, and have always been in the normal range (120/80 most of my life). i just don't know what to think. i don't have any insurance and am unemployed, and i just don't know where to turn since i've been told my heart isn't the problem. i'm mostly concerned it's my spinal cord and will wake up paralyzed one day.
Another possibility that can explain the ilight>painilight> is pericarditis. it causes ilight>chestilight> ilight>painilight> aggravated by ilight>laughingilight> yawning and deep breathing and also causes radiation of pain to arms. Again an EKG, heat echo and chest X-ray is required. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Hi Welcome to the MedHelp forum! ilight>chestilight> ilight>painilight> aggravated by ilight>laughingilight> yawning and deep breathing goes more in favor of costochondritis, which causes pain and tenderness at points where your ribs attach to your breastbone. The inflammation around the joint area gives sharp pain on taking a breath. This can also cause tenderness on pressing the area which pains. An orthopedic doctor can diagnose this for you. Generally there is no cause.

However i started getting this severe ilight>painilight> in my ilight>chestilight> ( right side under my breast) about 5 days ago. i thought maybe that i pulled a muscle or something and that the pain would go away, but its not going away and my breathing seems to be more difficult and shorter. i cant lay on my right side at night as it shoots a sharp pain throughout my body. i just want to know what is going on. i was hoping someone could give me some advice or something and save me an expensive trip to the doctors!

Can you tell me the causes of ilight>chestilight> ilight>painilight> in a child? There is a familial history of HCM, but childs echo is essentially normal. my child has occassional bouts of chest pain some lasting seconds other lasting several minutes no more than 5. Pain normally occurs in the center of the chest, or along the left side about 3 inches from breast area to by underarm on the left side. Pain occurs while doing nothing, (standing) playing a video game, laying up on left arm in bed. Could it be muscles?
After the blockage was discovered thanks to a persistent PCP, and the stent inserted, i had ilight>chestilight> ilight>painilight> afterwards. Was re-catheterized, all the major arteries were given a clean bill of health, but was placed on a beta blocker. Terrible reaction to the first one, put on a second one, and finally my cardiologist took me off that one as well. Although i see some improvement, i still have chest "aches" on exertion.

Low was 46, high was 128. Right after i got my holter results, i was sitting at dinner and had a horrible crushing ilight>chestilight> ilight>painilight> while laughing. it was so bad, and so sudden that i went to the ER. They did blood testing and EKG's, all of which were normal. They diagnosed a pulled chest muscle. Ever since this incident 3 weeks ago, i have had terrible intermittent chest pain. Sometimes while sitting, sometimes, while talking, sometimes when standing/walking. There is no rhyme or reason to it.
