Avatar m tn Have you seen your doctor about this symptom? If not, you should pronto. What kind of arthritis do you have?
Avatar n tn I have a lingering pain (about 3 weeks now) in my back. It's on the right side, just below my rib cage and even around on the right side of my rib cage. It really only bothers me when i take a deep breath. I am having an ultrasound and chest x ray Monday. Might this be pleurisy? Also, I have a very bloated feeling in my upper abdomen and even kind of up under my right ribcage.

Avatar m tn I was tying my shoes yesterday morning and when I stood up I felt a knot in my back that radiated through my body to my upper stomach area. When I take a deep breath, that area of my back hurts, in fact I get a really sharp pain. I was concerned that this could be heart related, so I went to the doctor. He said that my risk factors for a heart attack were low and told me to go home and take tylenol and if it worsens, go to the hospital.

Avatar f tn I also had remember that I needed to relax, and when I felt that sharp pain between my shoulders I would take a deep breath and relax my shoulders. It takes time, but helps. Good luck.
Avatar f tn It starts at just below my bra strap and goes down about 2 or 3 vertebrae. Also, sometimes when I take a deep breath my back will either click or pop in that area. It doesn't cause an excruciating amount of pain when this happens but it is still a little painful and feels very gross. I would like any ideas on what this could be.

Avatar m tn In the morning I usually wake up and raise my self and take deep breath, but now i get this sudden pain in my chest that stops me directly from the deep breath. I don't smoke but I do get second hand smoking. So anyways, I would have to lay on my back and take small breath before I can do anything. The pain is like my lungs were squished together and so when I take the deep breath in the morning it tries to open up and it hurts. If you guys got anything to help that would be great.
Avatar n tn it hurts when i take a deep breath. Or any movement...What can I do to help the pain? This discussion is related to Persistant Cough and Back Pain.
Avatar f tn However, I did hit my left shoulder rather hard on the dashboard and have a substantial bruise because of this. Today i began feeling pain on the left side of my back under my shoulder blade when taking a deep breath in or when exhaling deeply. I was wondering if maybe i simply pulled a muscle or if this pain could be more serious and have to do with my left lung. If anyone has any ideas or think they could help me, your knowledge would be greatly appreciated!
248167 tn?1220363690 If it hurts when you breathe or take a deep breath, it's likely a subluxated rib head. If not, a visit to a Chiropractor would probably be your best bet. A good resource directory for finding a referral is here: www.UpCspine.com - there are doctors listed from all over the world who can help you. Pick the one that's closest to you.
Avatar m tn Ok this is going to be really hard to explain, it has me worried. when I wake up in the mornings and go to take a breath (deep) I get a sensation in my back, it's not wheezing, because I have heard that before, but it I can feel it. sort of makes me think what wheezing would feel like if we could feel it. it's generally around by shoulder blades and spine area.
Avatar n tn Actually this is my story, now for me it has reached to my chest, I have shooting pain in my mid back while sleeping, get up and gasp for breath while having to curve my mid back upward to make my diaphragm get down and make room for deep inhale and exhale. I know what is my problem but unfortunately I have not been able to find suitable doctor who can understand and believe that I am not creating stories about my pain, so they just send me for physiotherapy.
Avatar n tn Hello, sorry to hear about your back pain. I had upper back pain that ended up radiating down my arm and back and forth. I thought everyone would think I had gone crazy stating that the pain traveled. Also I had burning sensations and tingling. Turned out to be a pinched nerve in my neck C6&C7. When this happens there are tiny nerves that go down your back and down your arms. depending on which nerver produces the different locations of pain.
Avatar m tn For the past 3 and a half weeks. I have had pain in my back that getting progressively worse. It's difficult for me to sleep, I cannot lie on my back or left side without bein gin excruiating pain. The pain is also in my chest at times. I can'y walk but a few feet outside before feeling short of breath. I have asthma but I know this is something more. Scared becasue I don't know what's wrong with me. Went to the hospital 3 weeks ago but n they checked my chest not my back.
Avatar f tn I was thinking maybe if you could take deep breaths while in different positions maybe this could tell you something?
