Avatar m tn I am 63 y/o male and I had two heart surgery, the first one was a AVR, but my last surgery I had two bypass and aorta root and AVR , But the question is I have all way had a low heart rate, on my sleep study my heart rate was 34 and at my DR apportment it was 41, so what can I do to up my heart rate
Avatar f tn I think there has been a huge mistake. I'm 57 y/o female, good weight (bmi 20), good health except I have ALWAYS had a very low resting heart rate and b/p (35 bpm, 95/54 in early morning & sleeping). I fainted at home a few weeks ago (I think from dehydration) and my husband called 911. My 1st clear memory is ICU 3 days later with a doctor saying sign a consent for a pacemaker or I could die. Obviously, I signed. A week later, I had emergency surgery for a dropped heart lead.
Avatar n tn My ep discussed the problems with ablating around the av node and I was quite concerned about the possibility of needing a pacemaker if the av node was compromised due to the ablation. He said that in the last 10 years, great advances have been made to better understand the AV node and reassured me that a pacemaker was very unlikely. I am SVT free and pacemaker free. Just did some quick research on the other part of your question and found a site with some good information on the latest info.
Avatar n tn My hobby had a bi v pacemaker put in 4 years .workedcfine so far. Unfortunately he caught some bug , turned out to staff auri or something. Inf d team strongly suggested removal of the device so it was done. Now heis without on. He is 72 y old. His choices. Amio Duran or life vest. A miowould help with the hr. but we r concerned about the other issues. It will be at least 6 months before they put. A new device.
Avatar f tn ve been craving sweets like crazy like doughnuts and cake! Ugh, i have to stop.
Avatar f tn He is very practical and strong willed, was told he had high cholesterol 20 years ago and cut out cheese and butter just like that and has maintained healthy eating habits, no smoking, and is very active..works out at the Y 3x a week and has a 6 pack, ie he is fit!! Meds are coumadin, metoprolol, atorvastin and ASA.
Avatar f tn To all who wished me good thoughts over my pacemaker "generator" replacement. It does sound more impressive than "battery" !! I'm told I have the very latest in technology and can now be "found" by the new system that "reads" your pacemaker without you having to "phone home" and do the telephone game; alas I had to burst the pacemaker rep's bubble and remind her that I am only near a "landline" in the winter.....
Avatar m tn ve done multiple invasive tests, and they see it functioning fine with no heart blockages whatsoever, and not anywhere near ready for replacement. Another history piece if it helps figure out what is going on is I did crack C2 in a ski accident 36 years ago. There may be other things too, but hopefully this much can give someone enough information to point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn 42 y/o female diagnosed with inappropriate sinus tachycardia. Average HR of 102 over 24 hour period. I had a relatively new proceedure in Aug '08 (sinus node isolation). The surgery was very successful in eliminating the tachycardia; my HR is now around 70. I'm now experiencing episodes of syncope. I did wear a 30 day event monitor which showed numerous reoccurrances of long PVCs and a "dip" in the P-wave. My cardiologist and electrophisiologist seem unconcerned.
Avatar f tn Just found lump in one of my breasts, has anyone used k-y Jelly, (who knows what hormones is in it) and then had a lump?
Avatar f tn I always used Playtex dropins/nursers. They are the only ones you can squeeze the air out of and the only ones my kids didn't get gas-y or colic-y on. And for pacifiers I love the gumdrop. They are really good when baby gets older and start teething too because they are all 1 piece of rubber. You can freeze them and baby will chew on any part of it because all of it is softer than the hard plastic ones.
Avatar m tn Both say my heart is strong and keep what I am doing. I am actually worried about surgery for a pacemaker or ??? without anti-coagulant medication with my previous stroke.
Avatar m tn Also, if you start losing weight, the doctor needs to know this right away. My mom had a medtronic pacemaker for 12 years before she needed a new one. Should could not live without a pacemaker/defibrillator and her heart medication. There have been 12 people in our family with heart disease. Only one was recommended for a pacemaker/defibrillator so far. I know doctors here in Minnesota do not suggest a pacemaker/debrillator unless it is really needed.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am a 19 y/o, African American, woman. This summer my sister noticed a had a small bald spot when I took my weave out. It was really small though. I thought that I might have cut out a piece of hair off when I was taking out the thread used to attach the extensions. Maybe a month later, I used a relaxer on the nape area. I might have left it on too long. But long story short... I put a bold spot into my head. Will it grow back with treatment? Help!!

Avatar f tn EP tells me this tachy is coming from my sinus node. I am aware of the risks of the surgery and am not sure I am ready for a permanent pacemaker. Anyone out there that could offer some experience/advice? Thank you!!!

Avatar n tn i am a 35 y/o female who had an unprotected one-night stand in dec 2008. i went to the health dept and had an hiv test at 7 weeks and also at 16 weeks of which both came back nonreactive. i've still been so worried to the point that i've been losing weight. should i retest at 6 months?
Avatar f tn The pacemaker itself should not be a deterent from having an ablation. I've had a pacemaker for 6 years (because of an ablation actually), and then had another ablation about a year ago. Unfortunately, the ablations don't work for me, but I have IST, not SVT so hopefully they're more effective for that.
