1347434 tn?1282591778 t seem all that out of the ordinary. She determined hormones were not causing my excitable heart. My TSH came in at .6, .3 being bottom of normal. Hyperthyroidism runs in my family and my TSH has been steadily decreasing for over a year now. I am also getting night sweats and waking with a pounding heart early in the mornings. But, this could be practically anything, I understand this.
723800 tn?1230887234 When it came to having my second pacemaker inserted about 5yrs ago, they decided to put in a smaller pacemaker and replace the problem lead, after I recovered my chest felt better with the pacemaker not bulging out so much and everything was normal until yet again with the new lead that they had inserted was not working properly.
Avatar n tn She fell down on the cement and cracked her skull. She needed emergency brain surgery and almost did not survive. She received a pacemaker (Medtronic brand) and lived another 12 years. Your EF is low. Normal is 55 to 60. Your cardiologist knows what is best for you. Sometimes a person does feel fine and has no symptoms, but that doesn't mean that everything is okay. I have heard people say that their EF went up after they received a defibrillator.
Avatar n tn CB radios, electric drills, electric blankets, electric shavers, ham radios, heating pads, metal detectors, microwave ovens, TV transmitters and remote control TV changers, in general, have not been shown to damage pacemaker pulse generators, change pacing rates or totally inhibit pacemaker output. Several of these devices have a remote potential to cause interference by occasionally inhibiting a single beat.
Avatar f tn If you are conservative and demand clear evidence, you would perhaps choose not to accept the risks if the size of the benefit is not certain (or if it is there at all). A mathematical model published in Lung Cancer August 2006 estimates the gain in survival for a stage 1 would be about 4% at 5 years. Without chemotherapy, about 66% are expected to survive. With chemotherapy, the percentage would be about 70%. Hope I did not add more confusion.
505800 tn?1226394593 HIYA, ANY ADVICE ON PALPS AFTER ABLATION THEY ARE NOT AS BAD BUT STILL REALLY REALLY SCARY i get them more now than what i did before my ablation sbout 6 -8 times aday is this normal???
Avatar m tn The two men who say that they have Bigfoot in the freezer are the same to men who, when not hunting for Bigfoot, are also hunting for Leprechauns and the Loch Ness monster. They have as much chance of having Bigfoot in the freezer and capturing a Leprechaun or sighting the Loch Ness monster as finding the proverbial pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Avatar m tn at that you may need a pacemaker, then they are worried about you irradict heart rate. A pacemaker will help keep your heart rates at an optimal level, while both working out and when at rest.
326176 tn?1239515689 However due to a number of reasons the same could not still be done.As for me I am not at all experienicing any sort of discomfort, near syncope or dizziness. Can I disregard the earlier medical advice on the pacemaker implantation option for the detected bradycardia(post MI)? This discussion is related to post a episode to worry?.
536225 tn?1213506783 Sounds like you are trivializing PVC's. They can be nasty, and cause a lot of real discomfort. Because a few people don't even notice PVC's, and because doctors can do little about them, they try their best to trivialize them. My PVC's were bothersome but "harmless" for years, too... until they turned into sick sinus syndrome and necessitated getting a pacemaker. Not trying to worry you here, just trying to encourage you to find a doc that takes PVC's seriously.
9263335 tn?1403463032 As to my last post me & my husband decided to work our relationship out because we love each other & be both know what it's like not having a father around & we want the best for our baby. Anyways.. Last night we went to Target to buy a movie & he made a stop at the baby clothes. I can't explain how happy we both were looking at baby clothes & cribs, etc.
1339332 tn?1329854366 Thank you for the changes that have been made in Sleep Tracker. It's a little tedious to scroll through each minute individually & have to categorize each sleep session, but it captures my overall sleep pattern much better than the old tracker as I wake for 5-10 minutes several times an hour and having to round up to 15 minute blocks wasn't really capturing my sleep totals accurately---was always over or under estimating.
Avatar f tn The pacemaker itself should not be a deterent from having an ablation. I've had a pacemaker for 6 years (because of an ablation actually), and then had another ablation about a year ago. Unfortunately, the ablations don't work for me, but I have IST, not SVT so hopefully they're more effective for that.
675084 tn?1233087505 t set my pacemaker for life depend.. Good news is now my pacemaker is set for it not to be ever turn off.. sometime my heart skip beat and beat to fast i take med for that.. but i get around like i don't have a heart problems most of the time... no one knows i have heart problem if i don't tell them.. i have 3 open heart surgery i was born will many hole in my heart..
Avatar f tn t have a battery. Is this true? Incidentally, my pacemaker had not been activated for several years, as it was set for the minimum and didn't ever have to kick in.
Avatar f tn The problem is is that the new Pacemaker is not like that at all! My heartbeat goes from 56 to 93, back to 71 then 86, and has gone a high as 100. It is all over the place. The Enrythym never went under 80. This Adapta is not doing that. Since the new Pacemaker I am weak, dizzy, have had low oxygen levels, and chest pain. Can anyone answer me? I feel that they have put in the wrong Pacemaker.
Avatar m tn Is there any other tests than a MRI for finding a tissue injury ? I have an ICD/PACEMAKER and can not have a MRI. I injured my shoulder several months ago and have tried cortazone injections and physical therapy. I have been taking celebrex and ice , moist heat but the pain has not stopped.
Avatar n tn I think you need Dr Ruth.
Avatar n tn I have a Boston Scientific Teligen 100 Pacemaker/ICD combo for both bradycardia and tachycardia issues. They've tweaked my settings from 50bpm to 60bpm to stop fainting spells and low hr's - but I can't tell a difference and it hasn't made me have more "pep" or energy, I wish it had =) I have 8.
Avatar f tn I also understand a pacemaker would treat AFib only if your had a full shut-down and are are operating under full-time pacemaker timing. I could be wrong on this point, I am not a pacemaker patient myself. What has you doctor said about your symptoms?
1712282 tn?1308440362 s and during the night i have the wenckebach block, I had a holter last month and they confirm it (the block is very symptomatic but is not infrahisian acording to the doctor and im not indicated for a pacemaker.. but sincerely i want one) the doctor recommended me Propafenone 150mg three times daily. Im upset because this means that the ablation was a fail right? i also afraid of taking the pills because i read somewhere that propafenone is contraindicated if you have 2 degree block.
Avatar n tn Thanks Brokenpen, actually she is not getting pain in around pacemaker, she is only getting pain stating from shoulder. hardly she is getting pain near by pacemaker.
Avatar m tn The usual seizure like activity associated with breath holding only last around 15 seconds and are usually not seizures. He has a very long recovery time associated with seizure episodes but his EEG, CT scan, chest xrays, blood work and EKG all came back normal. They have referred me to a specialist in pediatric neurology but his appt is not for another week. He has had 3 seizures associated with the breath holding and the most recent one was today.
Avatar m tn I also recently had a St Jude pacemaker put in but it was for pauses and slow rate. I also tried an ablation but it was not successful. I have sick sinus syndrome. I am trying to adjust to the pacmaker but it is hard.
