Avatar f tn This new treatment is offered at the Cleveland Clinic and the “pacemaker” can be inserted laparoscopically. The Cleveland Clinic is among the few centers in the United States to implant this device laparoscopically. For additional information on this therapy, please visit the manufacturers Web site.
Avatar m tn But if the area between the aneurysm and the renal arteries is too slight for a conventional commercially-made ordinary stent, then you need to go to Cleveland Clinic (which uses commercially made fenestrated stents from Australia), Mayo Clinic (surgeon-modified stents), Emory in Atlanta (talk to Dr. Ricotta, from Mayo, adept at what they call surgeon modified "fenestrated" stents, or to the University of California, San Francisco.

Avatar f tn I finally found a neuro and rheumy at the cleveland clinic that are in my insurance's network!!! I am so close to throwing in the towel and accepting fibromyalgia as my only diagnosis. However, deep down inside I know that something else is there and fibro may be a part of it but not all of it. Lately, I've been getting this sick feeling. It isn't the kind of nausea you get when you have a stomach flu. I can still eat and I don't feel like I will vomit.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had any experience with the Cleveland Clinic? I am going on the 28th, its about a 4 1/2 drive for me. I'm seeing a Neuro/Ophthalmologist first then hopefully one of the Chiari Specialist (they have 7). Since I am newly diagnosed I was wondering if anyone has dealt with a specific CM Spec up there and which one they would/would not recommend.
Avatar f tn My deepest sympathy for your very difficult heart condition... and I wonder if the law suit mentality here in the US isn't at the root of your problem finding a cardiologist. Your payment, e.g., insurance, method can also be a problem here in the USA. Still, we have the very best in medical care and being you are in NYC you are near some. Have you checked with one of the heart center hospitals..
151462 tn?1359172276 From everything I have read online my doctor has done just about everything. I have a appointment at the Cleveland Clinic in three weeks, but I just wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions that I have not tried yet.
Avatar n tn I had a septal myectomy done at the Cleveland Clinic in Aug. of 2000 and an ICD put in July 2005 also at Cleveland Clinic. Personally, I think a septal myectomy is the better option with relieving symptoms. I dont have alot of faith in the alcohol abliation therapy. Good luck.
Avatar n tn Does Cleveland Clinic have a syncope specialist who would be able to assess him and give a second opinion?
Avatar n tn Is there any concensus on the more, or the less reliable pacemakers on the market? Does each Dr. have their favorite? Does Cleveland Clinic support any particular manufacturer? Is there a device better suited for those who are still very physical in their excercise routines?
1569985 tn?1328247482 I traveled to Ohio State University to be evaluated for the FIRM ablation and now have an opinion from Cleveland Clinic. The question I am asking myself is more meds or pvi ablation and I decided a while back when I had a bad reaction to a new anti-arrythmic med that I wasn't going to try anymore of those. So I am down to a pvi ablation (90% success rate with 2 tries and 1% complication rate).
Avatar m tn The pain associated with an implanted pacemaker may be musculoskeletal or nerve related. Most likely related to the minor surgery required for insertion of the pacemaker. This type of pain related to the incision should heal within weeks. If you have persistent chest pain at the site of the pacemaker, it might be reasonable to see your doctor so that possible causes can be evaluated.
Avatar n tn will there be personality changes after pacemaker insertion? My son is 24 and fears becoming"hyper",he now is fairly "laid back".Is this unfounded?
Avatar f tn I have dizziness, lightheadedness, I have passed out, extremely high heart rate, and very low blood pressure (the list actually goes on) Some of my symptoms may have to do with my chiari malformation, idk. Anyway,I see doctors at the cleveland clinic. However here where I live I have my family doctor who is really not up on what is wrong with me I guess.
1217309 tn?1267050177 Does anyone know if it is hard to get seen at the cleveland heart clinic? I requested an appointment but it didnt say what types of insurance they take. Does anyone know?
1569985 tn?1328247482 I am hoping to be seen at the Cleveland Clinic this month for an evaluation for a catheter ablation, so that may answer my question. I am just stunned that people are jumping to this as an answer. My question to the nurse was the drugs are making me sick, I feel like crap and could they fine tune the drugs somewhat to make me more comfortable. Her response was pretty much put up with it, other drugs are worse.
Avatar f tn I am on my 3rd pacemaker after an ablation and pacemaker insertion 12 years ago. Since my new one on the 5th of May was ok with the exception of lacking energy to walk far. Prior to my last insertion i was walking 4k's a day. Since then no way. i went back to my Doctor 4 weeks ago and told him. He said he would make it more sensitive. Then I experienced headaches amd feelings of nausea on many occasions. i went back the following week to be told my BP had gone sky high. 160/102.
Avatar f tn I decided that I should travel to the United States and hopefully get a diagnosis. I know that Mayo clinic and Cleveland clinic have a good dysautonomia clinics but I don't know which one should I choose so I would appreciate any suggestions !!! Also I know healthcare in the US is so expensive and since I don't have insurance I wonder how much such a visit to one of those hospitals will roughly cost ?I know it's hard to tell but I'm asking for a roughly cost. Thanks.
Avatar m tn This procedure has a much higher success rate. I am now being seen at the Cleveland Clinic this summer to get their opinion. I don't know where you are located, but they are one of the best centers in the Midwest, and one report I read said in the world. The AV node ablation with pacemaker is a possibility also, and some people are in permanent afib. See Jerry_NJ's posts for information on that. I would definitely look further for help.
Avatar n tn In my experience, when a Pacemaker is inserted by a Cardiologist, a representative by the Pacemaker manufacturer follows up the insertion and programs the pacemaker in the hospital. It's not unusual that it has to be tweaked from time to time. If your husband still isn't feeling right, I'd request that you contact your Cardiologist and ask for a manufacturer's rep to be present to review the history of your heart beats since it was inserted.
251395 tn?1434494286 I would go see Stevenson in Boston, Calkins in at Hopkins, Tchou at the Cleveland Clinic, Morady at U. of Michigan, Packer or Asirvathum at Mayo or a host of other very well respected authorities on EP. Good luck.
Avatar m tn I am 48 and am on my 3rd pacemaker since 1999 for SSS. In Dec 2011, I was found to have moderate to severe tricuspid regurgitation. I had an echo which also indicated mild enlargement of the right atrium and ventricle; I then had a right heart cath and I do not have pulmonary hypertension. I don't pace very much and I have about two years left on this system. (Medtronic EnPulse) Questions include why I would develop tricuspid regurg all of a sudden? Could my lead be causing this?
