You might be mistaking what you read. I've never seen it written anywhere that a fetal heartbeat can be heard with a stethoscope, and certainly never had a doctor listen to my stomach with a stethoscope when I was pregnant. You might have read that the baby's heartbeat can be heard with a handheld doppler with a wand. They can be bought from hi-bebe's website for not a whole lot of money (I think $75 to 100) and are very nice to have.

I also have been playing the PSP (handheld video game) a lot more lately, could that be it? What could cause it to be here for a month? I have a doctor's appointment in a month (earliest appointment) so if anyone has any information on what it could be and how to treat it, I'd appreciate it.

DJ is in a serious medical crisis and currently in ICU. She has been there since Tuesday and I have been waiting to know more before telling you this news. You probably remember that she recently had her morphine pump exchanged for a different unit. Unknown to the surgeon, she has an extensive abdominal and bladder infection.

I did want to say that what you and Moki are going through is far worse than tics. A tic is more like a tiny muscle twitch, but the body or extremity doesn't actually move. People often get tics in eyelids, and I'm having one now in the heel of my hand.

A friend of mine generously let me borrow her handheld doppler so I can listen to baby's heartbeat at home! It works REALLY well. Heard it super strong at 160 beats per minute several times. It is a very cool gadget! Question is, do you know if it is safe? I'm finding mixed research online.

Hey everyone - here's the news. DJ and her daughter Lori are on a United flight out of LAX Saturday morning, 10:30ish. It is a direct flight to PA, so no layovers. Please keep a positive thought, say a prayer, spin around three times and spit - whatever it is you do! LOL - that they have a safe journey and encounter kind, compassionate workers at LAX, in the security line, on the flight and arrive intact and in good spirits in Pennsylvania.

DJ continues to be a guest of the hospital in Arcadia. They removed the intrathecal morphine pump last week. The spot where the lines went into her spine continue to leak spinal fluid, so they are going to do a blood patch on Monday. Here's hoping it helps. They have not yet found a way to handle her pain that she gets from the extreme spasms she experiences, and she is relying on the oral morphine to take the edge off. The movers come Monday morning for her household goods.

As few beats of VF occured, vision will out as itdood said but I stayed concious. Once the pacemaker detected my AF, it'll switch mode from DDDR/DDIR to VVIR. As I know, VVIR will pace like mad at my ventricle until the rhythm corrected. During this mode switches, I was staying concious and I can feel my chest like a garbage truck loading.

Besides movies, books and the computer, I occupied myself with handheld video games on Nintendo DS. If you have a smart phone, you can even surf the 'net from bed holding nothing heavier than a cell phone. I've posted a few responses to this forum from my phone!
