pacemaker

Avatar f tn Just to add, yes it could very easily have been the pacemaker. A wire could have detached from the heart or the pacemaker may have needed adjustment. In rare cases a pacemaker may develop a fault, all of which a proper checkup should have detected.
Avatar f tn I recently had a nuclear stress study done on june 29, 2010 I was scheduled for a pacemaker device change on june 23 2010 and it was cancelled due to an abnormal stress study in which the words used arepoor r-wave progression, chest attenuation, moderate sized perfusion defect mildly decreased tracer of the mid and distal anterior wall and apex, moderate peri infarct ischemia, and mild global hypokensis. LVEF of 43% Today i had an echo study July 14, 2010 and will not be seeing my Dr.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with PVCs in 2009, in 2010 had a heart cath to find an 80% blockage in one artery requiring two stents and have been on beta blockers since that time. Earlier in 2014 I had an ablation procedure as a result of my 24 hour Holter recording 36,000 heart beats. My 6 month check-up post surgery 24 hour Holter recording is 39,000 heart beats. The ablation was not successful. The cardiologist is indicating I may need a pacemaker.
Avatar n tn AV Node ablation seems like a drastic decision for SVT. To do so destroys the AV node and requires the use of a pacemaker. If you're not using a pacemaker, then you were ablated in some other area of your heart. Hopefully, this is the case. Please elaborate, so the proper response can be given.
163305 tn?1333668571 Companies trimmed cash bonuses but handed out more in stock awards. For shareholder activists who have long decried CEO pay as exorbitant, that was a victory of sorts. That's because the stock awards are being tied more often to company performance. In those instances, CEOs can't cash in the shares right away: They have to meet goals first, like boosting profit to a certain level.
Avatar m tn My Mom had a pacemaker put in late Dec 2010, went for testing to make sure it was working correctly a couple of weeks ago. Now the pacemaker person called and said she was going to give her some medication for hare heart rhythm...not sure what that means and Mom was sure why either since it was over the phone.
Avatar f tn It is my understanding that the answer in both cases is: depends. If a pacemaker user has no other clot forming risks, I'd guess no thinner is needed, likewise, an ablation that stops the arrhythmia would allow the patient to get off of all medications. An aspirin might be prescribed just-in-case. Arrhythmia has a bad habit of coming back.
Avatar f tn Each flare up got worse, and then August 2009 it was worse than over. Between August 2009 and February 2010, he was hospitalized a total of 9 times. He can't work and it has totally paralyzed his life. He had surgery on March 1, 2010 to have a gastric pacemaker implanted. For the last 8 years, they controlled the symptoms with Reglan, Carafate, Phenergan, and Zofran. They started not to work and that is when his Dr suggested a gastric pacemaker. So far, it's working.
Avatar m tn m 58 years old, had a pacemaker inplanted in Jan 2010. Doc put me on Xanax for anxiety and I have just recently tapered down until I took my last dose last Saturday night. I'm doing okay except I am having some pretty severe muscle spasms in the area surrounding my pacemaker. Has anybody else experienced anything like this? I can't sleep or relax because all of a sudden out of nowhere BAM a muscle spasm. And they certainly get your attention in the chest area.
Avatar f tn I had a pacemaker put in in mid-June (2009). It's on the left side. My left arm is swollen, tight and sore and really has been for the last 7 or 8 weeks. A dopler test revealed no blood clots. My electrophysiologist said sometimes (but not usually) it takes the other smaller veins a while to get the blood rerouted. He said since the test showed no blood clots, he's not particularly worried.

Avatar m tn my husband who is 44 yrs had a complete heart block in the month of August 2010 With no exact cause identified, the Doctor described his case as ‘idiopathic’ and recommended a pacemaker to regulate his heart rate. He was fitted with a dual chamber rate responsive Pacemaker .
Avatar f tn Has anyone out there had a pacemaker implanted because the beta blocker, in my case atenolol, makes their bp and pulse too low? Thanks.
Avatar f tn i had a dual chamber boston scientific pacemaker put in a week. ago. my 2nd. one since aug. of this year. i got staph infection in the first one. i had my one week check up yesterday and it looks as though one of the leads has moved. they did an x ray which shows the same as the x ray taken at the hospital the day after the pacemaker was put in. but i go back in 2 weeks to do the test again as they say the ex ray does not pick up micro changes. my question is. is this normal? and my dr.
Avatar n tn Hi. I'm having trouble with my 7y/o. He is emotionally sensitive, has sensory sensitivities, speech issues, low self image, highly competitive, social issues and very hard on himself. Here's the problem, a few days ago he went to his first cub scout pack meeting. At the meeting they were giving out awards. He broke down in tears because he didn't get an award.

967168 tn?1477584489 I had a Boston Scientific Teligen 100 w/Guidant leads implanted on August 28, 2009. Almost 2 years later my thresh holds remain high at almost 1100 and I was told they want to repair or remove them because my interrogations keep showing loss of capture, noise and tons of events that look like artifacts (254 just since May 19th).
Avatar f tn I had a pacemaker put in November 2010. It was the most horrifying experience I have ever gone through as the lidocaine had absolutely no effect and versed does not work on me so I had full feeling of surgery from the initial incision to the creation of the pocket into my muscle and placement of the pacemaker. My heart rate and blood pressure had been dropping to critical levels. A BP of 60/40 at night and a heart rate in the low to mid thirties was commonplace.
Avatar m tn Wondering if anyone has or would consider developing a Droid APP for Medtronics Pacer/Defibers. I have a BiV-ICD and live alone. With the advent of smart phones, I've done away with a land line and so the telephone checkups are no longer an option. I know my unit broadcasts a signal at certain times, because my old heart in-home monitor only needed to be within 50 ft or so to pick up my pacer signal.
Avatar f tn So I started Weight Watchers and just celebrated my 3 years of Weight Watchers in 2010 and I have lost just over 165 pounds! Just recently about 3 months ago ( Jan 2010) I was at the same doctor and my blood pressure is now at 115/62, triglycerides at 115 and Cholesterol at 138 with no med's to have to take and now my resting heart rate is no more than 40 bpm. I am not sure if this is normal with exercise and weight loss, but I exercise 1-2 hours a day for 5 days a week.
Avatar f tn Kathy Hansen went online to research treatments and found the Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, where doctors could insert a pacemaker into her stomach. The pacemaker acts similarly to a heart pacemaker, sending signals that cause the stomach muscles to contract at the right times so that Gentrie could eat. Avatar f tn I had a 2 level ACDF C 5/6 and C 6/7 with a DePuy Eagle Plate and 6 screws in November 2010. I went into heart failure - High Grade 2nd Degree AV Block after the surgery ( now with Pacemaker ) and continued with neck/shoulder/head/arm pain and numbness in right hand. I found out last November that I have NoN Union of C 6/7 and I have been in fear ever since. I am afraid of having surgery again and I do not know who to go to to get help? My pain is unbearable! My quality of life is zero.
Avatar n tn He earns points for positive behavior, and then gets awards if he earns enough points. He is very motivated by this approach -- he wants awards. Also, when he is behaving or does something good, I tell him about it -- so he hears me telling him how good he is more than what he's done wrong. We do punish him for intentional disobedience-- using time out. But we do that for transgressions at home.
