Avatar f tn My son wakes up nauseas everyday, which sometimes lasts until the evening. Sometimes he is also very dizzy. After seeing the gastroentrologist and neurologist and all test negative, he was referred to a psychologist. She says it is not caused from anxiety, but may be heart related. His pulse when he is at the neurologists is usually in the 50's (it was in the 40's when he was on medication). Could his pulse drop too low while he is sleeping causing him to be sick daily?
351404 tn?1299489130 Many thanks and I understand what you are saying. However, I have had hypertension for many years now and it is successfully treated with Co-Diovan which is a beta blocker which I take daily. After a recent stay in hospital when the A-fib was identified, I was placed on a Warfarin program and also have 10mg Bisoprolol daily. Following a week on a Novacor monitor, the doctor has now also diagnosed bradycardia with a resting beat of 45-50 pm which I don't think is severe rating.
Avatar f tn It is my understanding that the answer in both cases is: depends. If a pacemaker user has no other clot forming risks, I'd guess no thinner is needed, likewise, an ablation that stops the arrhythmia would allow the patient to get off of all medications. An aspirin might be prescribed just-in-case. Arrhythmia has a bad habit of coming back.
Avatar n tn I believe it is the damand type that requires sensing and pacing parameters for irregular heartbeats and daily monitoring. The asynchronous pacemaker is adjusted to the EKG, and the patient would know if there is rate problem and almost always no problem unless there is a malfunction!
Avatar f tn Just wondering, has anyone out there had a pacemaker implanted as a result of an arrhythmia? If so, how is it for you, are you aware of it all the time or do you forget about it? Thanks.
Avatar n tn During the ablation the cardiologist had a hard time controling my heart rate and blood pressure. I now take a beta blocker daily and still have SVTs even on a cardiac diet. I ended up having every type of SVT except Wolf H Syndrome. My cardiologist was scared he would have to put a pacemaker in at the time and wants to go back in for another ablation 3-d mapping in 3 mths. My questions are: 1. Is it normal or common to have more than one type of SVT? 2.

It is named for Thomas Parran, the groundbreaking US Surgeon General who first made the country aware of its uncontrolled syphilis epidemic in the 1930s and 1940s and is the architect of modern approaches to STD prevention.
Avatar f tn I was just curious if there are any Oklahoma mommies on here. If so, how far along are you and when are you due?
Avatar n tn He is a distance runner who is now not allowed to run, walk more than 1/2 mile, bike or do any other exercise. His current meds are Proamatine 10mg twice daily and 5 mg once daily, Fludrocortisone .1mg once per day. He drinks 64 ounces of Gatordae daily. He is becoming very discouraged by the restrictions to doing any exercies. He hopes to run track in three weeks, (distance events) and I know he will not be cleared for this. Would a pacemaker help him resume his normal life?
Avatar n tn My last pacemaker check revealed 1000 PVCs per week. Based on my calculation, that's about 8 PVCs per hour. I also have runs of SVT. This is my second pacemaker, and my cardiologist installed the device the first of September. I can't take a beta blocker because I have asthma. Of note my heart does about 99%, sometines 99.9%, of the work. Essentially my pacemaker is a monitoring device. I would like to know if there is cause for alarm? Am I a potential candidate for ablation?
