pacemaker

Avatar n tn THE MICROWAVE is NOT dangerous! You can stand in front of it safely! It has a magnetic field which traps the micro waves inside the micro! Properly used, a microwave oven is extremely safe.
Avatar n tn His small but well controlled study showed the degenerative force produced in microwave ovens and the food processed in them. The scientific conclusion showed that microwave cooking changed the nutrients in the food; and, changes took place in the participants' blood that could cause deterioration in the human system. Hertel's scientific study was done along with Dr. Bernard H. Blanc of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and the University Institute for Biochemistry.
Avatar n tn CB radios, electric drills, electric blankets, electric shavers, ham radios, heating pads, metal detectors, microwave ovens, TV transmitters and remote control TV changers, in general, have not been shown to damage pacemaker pulse generators, change pacing rates or totally inhibit pacemaker output. Several of these devices have a remote potential to cause interference by occasionally inhibiting a single beat.
208686 tn?1293030503 Kessler said Schiffman is clearly an expert on the workings and characteristics of microwave ovens and would be permitted to render his opinion related to that. He also ruled that two expert witnesses for the defense may testify as long as their testimony coincides with their areas of expertise. George Nichols, a pathologist from Louisville, Ky.
Avatar f tn You should buy some cake mix and use it to make a microwaved cake in a mug, you use 2 tablespoons cake mux and one tablespoon water, microwave for about a minute(keep your eye on it cause ovens are diffferent) and you will have your own personal piece of cake. I like to undercook it a bit so its still gooey in some of it.
Avatar m tn I have cardiomyopathy and received a difibrilator 12/04/09. I was told my microwave wichi is 23 yrs old, i could not use. Last night I set it and hit start button. It went 5 seconds before I realized what I did. The area around pacemaker has been swollen since that time. What has happened? Did it damage pacemaker? I am female, 65.

Avatar n tn That ban has long since been lifted. Please name ONE country where microwave ovens are banned and please use a reputable source for the information (not someone said so).
Avatar n tn I don't believe a pacemaker is used to control AFib. Perhaps your father has other heart problems. The most common use for a pacemaker is to keep the heart from beating too slow, or stopping. Some times a PM is used when the heart electrical system has to be totally shut down, in which case there would be no AFib or other arrhythmia, but this is not done to my knowledge, to control AFib.
Avatar n tn 1 beat every 3 second) and that the pacemaker lower rate limit is 60ppm (1 pulse every second) then what happens? how the heart reacts to our stimulus? if the heart make a contraction based on the pacemaker stimulus, then when the next natural contraction is supposed to be?
Avatar f tn I have a pacemaker and still have pvc's and pac's but the pacemaker is set to only let so much time go between beats so if there is too long a pause it will pick up and beat for you. Yes, they are frustrating but not dangerous at all. I also had pauses for seconds before pm and I know how scary that can be but don't worry!
Avatar f tn It used to be atrial fib - have had 3 cardioversions for that and only the first one worked (for 3 weeks). Now on flecanide and toprol but is it common to have an ablation when I also have a pacemaker? It was put in last March after a fainting spell.

Avatar f tn Hi princess4485, I noticed you posed that you have had a pacemaker since you were 1 yr old? I am 20 weeks pregnant and the baby has been diagnosed with a heartblock needing a pacemaker right after birth (if it can make it to term). How many operations did you have to go through? Was your childhood affected by the pacemaker in any way or were you oblivious to it? We are offered to terminate the pregancy now, but cases like yours give me hope.

1535596 tn?1292469791 I am 35. On July 9 of this year, I was implanted with a pacemaker and now am a card carrying member of the Pacemaker club. The reason, complete or phase 4 heart block with bradycardia. Before the implantation, I was monitoring my blood pressure on my own with a home monitor. I am also a trained nurse. I noticed that I was having palpitations, quite regularly, and my blood pressure was averaging 160/100 where it used to be 112/80. My heart rate, resting, was averaging 100 bpm.
