I do not know why the Opana ER (drug name is oxymorphone) didn't show up on your urine test but it sounds like your doctor is doing all that he can to ensure that you eventually pass your test. Most doctors immediately boot patients out the door when the first urine test comes back negative but your doctor is different...very understanding and compassionate. I would ask if he could also do a blood test...those are the most accurate tests available for checking opioid levels in the blood.

I have been in PM for 6 years after failed thumb joint replacement, total of 9 surgeries, countless procures & too many meds to count. Last year switched to my primary for the PM & was on total of 40 mg./ day. Several months ago my BP reached stroke level &they put me on second BP pill. First one was Clonidine, more for nerve pain. I have read all the responses below and have a checklist of what I need to to tomorrow morning- call the PM and find out if they use the Immunoassay or gc/ms for testing- ask what their threshold is for testing, and requesting a copy of my drug test screening report. I also want to ask that a secondary test be performed using the gs/ms if urine is still available. My question is- what happens if they refuse to give me this information? What rights do I have to demand certain things from the PM?

It is very true that wen testing for Oxycodone that it can come up positive for Morphine or Oxymorphone. Doctors often do not understand how to read the tests. There are a lot of people on here that are on signed pain contracts and have to take urine tests, or have pill counts. i was told by my doctor that the opana would test positive only for oxymorphone, and not oxycode. I have NEVER abused ANY drugs, and have a low tolerance for most of these medications, how can i prove that there was a mistake?

I guess I wasn't clear enough, I am taking the medication and can not figure out why it would come up negative. He did a urine test first which proved positive for opiates and then he did a blood test right afterwards and that came up negative. Why the blood and urine? I see a lot of people mention this on PM boards and such. Is like to test for abuse, like how much you're taking? Like if you have a prescription for Lortab, does a DR. have a legal right or if he wants to, ask for Urine/Blood to see that your not abusing your script?

I have been on opiates tyl with codeine to now oxymorphone last 3 months and I want out.. I couldn't begin to move let alone get to pain dr office hour away.. i have to have a clean urine. i feel for her, so maybe i'll give her a call. i'll invite her to a meeting. they accept me on methadone, but they do not buy when a person is trying to pull the wool over their eyes. they will call her on it. they are usually kind with hugs for all newcomers. if she speaks, then she puts it out for them. So I went and he tested me he said I failed test. He said he could tell I was taking percert just by sticking a test strip in my urine. I think he was lieing try to scare me. Does anyone know if that is true? Any way he swicthed me to the pacthes Fentyal 50 and gave me some clondine[for a month]. I had to take night time ninquil to sleep.
