Opana ER, an extended-release form of oxymorphone, is available as tablets in strengths of 5 mg, 7½ mg, 10 mg, 15 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg, and 40 mg. Some resources assert that 2, 12 and/or 15 mg IR tablets and 25, 36 and 50 mg extended release tablets will be introduced although apparently the timeline on that is not known to the public at this time. Opana Extended-Release tablets are based on the TIMERx system developed by a consortium led by Endo and Penwest.

For example, 1 mg of oxymorphone is stronger than 1 mg of oxycodone...to be precise, oxymorphone is approx. 2 times stronger than oxycodone. Therefore, to get equivalent strength of oxymorphone through oxycodone, one has to take their oxymorphone dosage and multiply it by 2 to yield equivalent oxycodone dosing in mgs.

My disease has resurfaced with this Opana though.I have cut my intake from 20 mg a day to 10 mg a day for the past three days.I have been blessed to avoid the terrible sickness of opiate withdrawl that I went through last year with this **** when I went CT off of it.Still the mental side of it is a bear.I know 20 mg a day doesnt sound like much but Opana is some POTENT stuff.Anywho a couple of you encouraged me to keep you informed so thats whats up.Pray for me!

I am currently prescribed morphine sulfate 30 mg and morphine 100 mg. I recently took a drug test where Oxymorephone showed up in my urine test. Does either of these pills contain the components of oxymorphone or opana? Any help will be appreciated!

I have a hard time remembering what each medicine is, generic name versus brand names. I'm once again having a hard time controlling the pain. I have come down to a very small dose and I haven't been using anything long acting. Stands to reason that: 2 x 5mg Percocet = 1 x 10mg Oxycontin Don't quote me on that though. I know Percocet has both Oxymorphone AND Acetaminophen in it, and Oxycontin has Oxymorphone only. I'm not certain what the Acetaminophen brings to the table as far as drug-interactions go, but your statement that the Perc and the Oxy are the same (2x5mg vs. 1x10mg) sounds about right. I’ve been taking 5mg oxymorphone extended release pills for 8 years. I recently had to switch primary care doctors because mine moved away. The first urine drug test I was asked to do was last Friday and they called today and said the drug didn’t show up in my system, and dropped me as a patient. Oxycodone is about half as strong as Oxymorphone per mg. So you were talking 60mg of Oxycontin (Oxycodone) and going by a Opioid (Narcotic) analgesic converter you would need 30mg of Opana (Oxymorphone) to get the same pain releif and most likley the same to cover the withdrawl. You are now taking 10mg of Opana where 30mgs is what the converter says you need. You need to talk to your Dr. about dosage and don't take more than your Dr wrote the Opana for until he or she OKs it.

Not sure if you have tried Opana (oxymorphone) yet but based on pharmacology, it is a little stronger than Dilaudid (hydromorphone) mg to mg. I am on 30 mg of Opana ER twice a day. They do have Opana in immediate release form. Opana has a long half life, even in immediate release form, such that 6 hour dosing works extremely well for most patients versus the 4 hour dosing of oxycodone. Oxycodone is metabolized by the liver into oxymorphone. Oxymorphone is about 2 times stronger than oxycodone based on pharmacology. When I was first switched to Opana, the drowsiness and tiredness were unreal! It was a real struggle for me at first and I also have a desk job. However, the sedation effects only lasted for a month at the most. Now I don't get sedated anymore and in fact I am more alert than I was on Morphine.

So if you remember I converted your total daily dose of Fentanyl to Oxycontin and it came out to be 210 mg of Oxycontin. That is 150 mg of Oxycontin less than what you were taking through Fentanyl vs. 90 mg of Oxycontin more than you were taking.

has anyone ever been prescribed opana er 20 mg i take it q 12hrs but it only lasts 8 hrs and for bt pain i take norco 10 -325mg q6 hrs. that only lasts apprx. 1.

My mother has been on pain killers for the past 5 years, they started her at 500Mg of vicodin, to 1000 of vicodin, to Lortab, then to norcos, now to Oxy-morphone, a RX called "Opana ER". Ever since she got these, I would take them, I started out taking some vicodin here and there, to a full on addiction to the Opana ER, over time of course. My tolerance is so high, I take the same dosage she does daily, which is 4-5 20MG tablets a day. I need them just to feel normal. I have no pain.

im on opana er (oxymorphone) 5mg x2 day, neurantin 300mg x3 day, hydrocodone 7.5mg x1 day, ambien 10mg x1 night, synthroid 225mcg x1 night, alegra180 mg x1 day, and benedryl as needed. Hi everyone, I was recently taken off my usual pain med regimine of 75 micr of Fentanyl Patch every 48 hours and 4 mg hydramorphone ( dilauded) 4-6 times a day.

I've just been switched from Fentanyl 25mcg every 48 hrs to Oxymorphone 10mg every 12hrs. I feel way worse (pain) & was wondering if anyone knows what the equivalence is between the 2. I have a feeling I've just been decreased in pain relief. My dr & the pharmacist told me to wait a few days to "feel it's working" & in the meantime I'm in excruciating pain. Can anyone help with what I can do here? Btw...

I have been taking ms contin and oxymorphone (opana) for break through for YEARS. Frankly I'm concerned with the dosage of ma contin my pm doc has me on. I am not getting the pain relief I used to and even ibuprophen works better at times. I have been curious about Dilaudid or hydromorphone because my mother takes it but am too afraid to ask my doc.

I am going home today after 3 nights in the hospital for detox from 300 Mg daily Hydros. Feel really good, as they gave me 20 Mg methadone to start and tapered to my last dose at 1:00 am of 10 Mg. Had total of 6 doses,Am pretty nervous about how I am going to feel when the last of the Methadone wears off. Not sure what to do next, any suggestions would be appreciated.
