Common Questions and Answers about Oxycontin withdrawal diarrhea

oxycontin

Avatar f tn What are the withdrawal symptoms off of Oxycontin of a long time abuser? Is it always different depending on the person?
Avatar f tn I had surgery a couple weeks ago to have a pelvic mass removed. The gave me instant release oxycontin 15mg every 3 hours. I came home a week ago & they gave me a prescription for the oxys. I decided to stop taking the oxys because I didn't have pain anymore. I started having terrible withdrawal from the oxy pills. Shakes, vomiting, diarrhea, sweating, can't sleep, can't eat. This went on for about 2 days. Well, I gave in and took 1 oxy pill.
Avatar n tn This may be my 3rd or 2nd post, but I can't take it any longer. I am on day 4 of going cold turkey of approx. 400mg 5-6 times a day for over a year. When will the sweats and chills and diarrhea and not sleeping and anxiety end? I can't go thru this much more. My thoughts constantly turn to ways to get some tramadol and just make this pain stop. Does it ever get easier? Any suggestions? Help.
Avatar f tn I started yesterday and had the sweats and aches all day, as well as severe diarrhea. I ended up getting 1/2 a pill and smoked it (i didnt get high but it did help me sleep) I know I cannot continue to do this however or i will never quit, not to mention it will only prolong my withdrawals. Now I am on my second day (first with nothing) --- but it is 9 AM and I cannot sleep.
Avatar m tn Check out the Thomas recipe and the Amino Acid Protocol under the health pages. It seems like so many people on here have got relief by doing them. Also, Imodium for the diarrhea helps a lot. I've also read that NyQuil is good to help some of the symptoms, like the restless legs. There's also a product called Restless Legs by Hylands. It's very small but Walgreens carries it and probably Walmart.
Avatar n tn I am new to this website, however not new to addiction. I was on oxycontin about 3 years ago and ended up having to do the rapid detox to get off of them. I did really well up until I had my baby (by c-section) 6 months ago and was giving perocet 10/325, then a month later I had my appendics removed and given more perocets. Needless to say I have been taking them for the past 6 months and enough is enough. I can honestly say I never abused them this go around.
Avatar m tn In my and others experience, the best withdrawal method is a process of cutting back your dosage over time. Going into a rehab unit is pure hell. And anyway you are not an addict. Take it slow friend. In my humble opinion the vicodin you may want to stay on the longest. Percs make me feel depressed. Vicodin does not do that. I am a pain patient. This may sound counter intuitive but oxycontin acts longer with getting a less addictive buzz or high like one does on vikes(hydrocodone).
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been taking 5mgs oxycontin 3 times a day. Total 15mgs daily. It's 33 hours since I last took it. I want off as it constipates me very badly and I already have a serious constipation problem due to a dysfuntion of my autonomic nervous system. I've been taking it for about 4 months. I'm wondering what I can expect in relation to withdrawal symptoms and how long bad withdrawal lasts.
Avatar n tn I'm 19 and on day four of withdrawing from Hydrocodone and oxycontin. Ever since the first 2 times I went through the **** (gone through it maybe 2 or three more times) since then, the symptoms seem much less intense, shorter and more bearable. Probably due to my keeping it to smaller doses. On the second day, I felt good and worked out, no problems, thought I was getting better quick. Third day, still good.
