Oxycontin with klonopin

Common Questions and Answers about Oxycontin with klonopin

oxycontin

I am not a user, I support my 21 y/o daughter that began her oxy w/d 7 1/2 weeks ago. She relapsed early in her recovery, and has been oxy free since. She has shared with me that the mental addition is considerably harder to overcome than the physical side effects. There are some mornings she awakes restless, anxious and a bit testy, and those are always because she dreamed of using all night.
oh holly, becareful of the tramadol...many here have been addicted to it and the w/ds are said to be worse than oxy....just wanted to make you aware of the. i went c/t off oxy, i was a snorter....i agree that clonidine will help ya...i didnt have it but nmany here say it makes a huge difference. reality is that the physical w/ds are over in a bout a week. you can endure for a week to get your life back...after the first week its mostly lack of energy and sleep...at least it was for me.
-- listlessness -- no energy, yawning, difficulty concentrating (only time seems to help -- sorry) -- depression, combined with a vague, unfocused panic (valium, klonopin, librium - any benzodiazipene-family drug; some say the non-benzo Robaxin helps, which is certainly easier to get than valium; I recommend Soma if you are going with a non-benzo) -- all-body sweating, hot and cold flashes (time, again) -- diarrhea (good news -- over the counter Imodium is excellent, but don't be conservative o
I wrote down your question,SO I wouln't forget,as I see my last post had really nothing to do with what you wanted to know.. You can use Klonopin as needed, like I said, it just takes longer to kick in, lasts longer, and after drinking one whiskey with Lamictal and going psychotic, i am never drinking while on meds again. (so i guess there goes drinking for life!
hmmn if you do have a history of abusing pills, I would probably agree more with a "formal detox." Because if you take klonopin or valium you will end up having a new addiction.
Valium (or another benzodiazepine such as Klonopin, Librium, Ativan or Xanax). Of these, Valium and Klonopin are best suited for tapering since they come in tablet form. Librium is also an excellent detox benzo, but comes in capsules, making it hard to taper the dose. Ativan or Xanax should only be used if you can't get one of the others. 2. Imodium (over the counter, any drug or grocery store). 3. L-Tyrosine (500 mg caps) from the health food store. 4.
I have been taking oxycontin now for 2 years. I started by taking them orally then went to snorting them; I take about 150mg a day. I don't know who I am anymore. I can't live with them and I can't live without them. This drug has completely taken over my life! I have tried to stop numerous times but I can't bear with the withdrawls. I am sure I could go to a methadone clinic but I do not want to replace one addiction with another.
Below is the famous Thomas Recipe. It gives some general information along with supplements that help with the withdrawal symptoms. The only thing I would add to this list is a blood pressure drug named clonidine. It effectively lowers the blood pressure and lessens many of the withdrawal symptoms. Most any doctor will prescribe it if you’re honest as to why you need it. Discuss dosages and frequency with your doctor. Thomas Recipe: 1.
(being molested as a little girl had alot to do with it.) Anyway, they detoxed me with first 40 then 20 then 10 mgs of Oxycontin every 6 then 8 then 12 hours. A few times during the first few days I was even given oxyIR for the acute part of the withdrawel. So, do not use the fact that you took half the pill as an excuse to say "screw it", if you do go back to them, you'll really be saying "screw me". It's not going to get better if you give up and go back.
I have recently come off Oxycontin for severe spinal pain. I had a tripple fusion, screws, hardware etc. bone graft. I am not a recreatioonal person, never have been. I want EVERYONE to know, there is a huge difference in abuse and dependance. I do want to make a comment however as to the withdrawal. My doctor would not allow me to come down properly, if I went to another doctor for a lower dosage, then I would be accused of doctor shopping. I decided after much search to come off the oxy.
) in my sleep. I do have Klonopin which helps at night but I am still waking up several times a night with body aches and have a hard time getting back to sleep. Also, I hate the friggin' constant yawning. I keep thinking each day I will feel radically better but that is not really the case. I am getting better but it is coming in smaller increments than I had hoped. I do have some Darvocet to take during the day to help with the aches.
I have been taking Oxycontin for four months for my back. I have a tethered spinal cord with disc complications. I have so many allergies to medication that the Oxycontin was the only resourse for my pain. I am afraid of becoming addicted and have recently taken myself off for one full week with no with drawal effects. During that time I tried Ultram and it did nothing to help or relieve the pain. So I went back to the Oxycontin.
It’s good to come clean with your doc concerning your desire to get off. Ask him to prescribe clonidine, (not klonopin), and ativan. These will help with sleep, RLS and anxiety. These are best to try before formal detox and drugs like Suboxone. I had to do formal detox because I tried everything else, including alcohol to get off and nothing worked for me. Keep in mind that when you try… make it a good one! Have some time off of work if you can… maybe a four day weekend or more.
I know what to expect. And if I can cold turkey from oxycontin, I can quit the klonopin. But I will have to taper on the Klonopin because it's now wise to just quit benzos all at once. Thanks again. By the way, why don't you create a profile? It's the new thing, don't you know? Everyone gets to private message each other.
I took my last dose of OxyContin almost 10 days ago. I was prescribed it for Extreem back and neck pain due to an MVA. I started out 80mg 2x day. Then went to 60mg 2x a day. Then the last time I saw my doc I told him to decrease again to 40mg 2x A day. Well stupid me went through the percsription WAY TOO FAST. I went through a months worth in TWO WEEKS! I was in so much pain at the time I did not care about the consequenses. Anyway......
No pharmacist with a brain would fill that Xanax script. Something is missing here. Even with Klonopin being long acting....20 mg of Xanax os NOT comparable to your Klonopin dose.....not even close. IF we have the whole picture here (which I am sincerely wondering)....get a new doctor right away. Whatever you do, do NOT just stop taking the Klonopin cold turkey, it could actually be dangerous. Seek the opinion of a new doctor if you don't have any other options.
Ive been on percocet and oxycontin for about 3 and 1/2 years with the doses ranging from 240mg or oxycontin a day and 2mg klonopin to percocet 30 mg a day with .5 mg kp. Currently taking 60 mg percocet a day everyday and 3mg klonopin. Get the meds from the doc and from the streets. Wanna stop but have to work and cant go through the withdrawl. Been to rehab intensive outpatient 2x and passed both times (court ordered). Any suggestions?????????????
Initially I was taking phenergan to help with the nausea associated with the oxycontin I was taking, for quite some time I have been taking the phenergan with usually a low dose of xanax, or when out of xanax, with klonopin to help me calm down and get some sleep. Now my question is, I haven't taken oxy in approx. 72hrs. and don't really feel any withdrawal since day one and day two, can it be that these drugs are masking the withdrawal symptoms?
Dear Doctor: For the past ten years I've been taking both Oxycontin and OxyIR. My dosage has increased over the past five years and currently I am taking 340mg day. I've noticed, especially these past for years that I have absolutely no interesin anythig whatsoever. I shut myself away and don't want to talk to people, especiallly my husband. Since I was 17 years old, I've made my own way in life and quite successfully too.
Is there anything OTC I can take that would help with the withdrawals? I have access to Xanax and Klonopin to help with the anxiety and sleep issues, but what can I buy at the drug store, OTC, to help relieve the withdrawal symptoms? I tried to detox and was on day four without anything but couldn't take it anymore.
I am tappering off of Oxycontin and was wondering if I should taper down to 5mg Oxycodone's once I get to 10mg of Oxycontin?
He advised taking it slow, say six months, because of the length of time I'd been on them and the dose I'd ended up with. I went to the Doctor who was prescribing the Oxycontin and he had a different idea. We started titrateing down in mid Feb. and I got to zero on April 8th., 2000 The next few days were hell. Super depression (suicidal), chills, sleeplessness, horrible gnawing in the pit of my stomach, bad aches and pains throughout my body especially my legs.
if so you must have a plan for pain management talk with your doc about it maybe he can help or I hear there are natural supplements that help with pain, maybe you can look them up on something like GNC website you'll probably have to go there for the amino's and Thomas recipe but I order most of mine on line at supplements101 , keep posting it helps, and I wish you the very best I will always be here if you want to talk just message me I am still going through this so I cant offer you my suce
I went from eating 4 of them a day for about 7 months, to 1 week now with eating 3 for 3 days, 2 for 2 days and im out , I ate my last one at 11:30 today. I did have a try at this last month but for many reasons it didnt happen. It is on for sure right now and i feel like ****. How long till i can take a Suboxone.I have a scrip for 90 ..8-2MG is what the label says,My Dr. told me to wait till the next day but no time frame.
he now takes oxycontin (20mg twice a day) along with vicoprofen (as needed) since taking the oxycontin his personality has gone downhill (not much laughing very very irritable!!) its ruining our marriage. any suggestions for him or me and is there alternative paid meds that can do the same or more for him that he could try??
there is NO REASON to dismiss planning a family. there are multiple ways to deal with this with your physicians help. it was unclear in your post whether you are dependent or an addict. huge difference. therefore there is no way of putting a label on you regarding your future parenting skills. if you have a kind physician who is knowledgeable please rely on him. remember this is an addiction forum so the answers you receive will be addiction minded. good luck to you.
Yes, I have some advice, I'm Jennifer, 33 yo and I have battled with oxycontin and oxycodone for 3 year, aprox 80 mg a day and the truth is your going to ruin your life, and you are young and can change that right now. I'll tell u what I have done so far I went to detox because its very very hard to do this alone, and yes it sucked, but it needed to happen.
Tapering is actually more difficult with oxycontin because, as the prior post says, if you break the pill in order to reduce dosage you will cause it to increase the amount hitting your system at one time (since it will not be time released).
if he has mixed methadone with klonopin, he will be very drowsy, nodding off, eyes closing while talking, slurred speech, slow moving...he may seem fine while he is up and moving around, but when he sits to relax is when you will notice it the most...but if he is on a high dose of methadone, that alone MAY do this also... but mixing methadone and benzodiazapines is extremely dangerous...i lost a close friend in december from this combination of drugs..
