Can you please help me out with my addiction such as sharing your tips, stories and so on.I just joined this site and don't know where to begin.I get T3's prescribed 3 per day, 20 every 7 days (wed-wed) but I also get them on the side from someone I lie to.I want to stop, I dont even know how long its been.It just grew out of control and i had enough but cant beat the withdrawl and i am scared cuz I also dont want help from Doctors.
Avatar m tn I get urine drug tested every month when i go to get my prescriptions from a pain management clinic. I have tested positive for either Hydrocodone or Oxycontin the last 6 times I tested. I havent taken Hydrocodone in 5 years and Ive never taken Oxycontin. The dr doesnt believe me and Im probably gonna be released because of it. I cant make him believe me. Can anyone tell me if any of the following drugs can give a false positive for Hydrocodone or Oxycontin.
Avatar f tn I mean, I know Oxycontin is slow release, but percocet is Oxycodone and how is that different from the Oxycontin? I thought they were the same only, one was slow release and one was not, but there must be another difference... Right?
Avatar n tn So Fiorinal is codeine based.. got it...
Avatar m tn Ive been taking about 100mgs of oxycontin a day for about 1.5 month now. What do i do? Quit cold turkey or taper off? I cannot take days off work.
Avatar f tn Anyway, Suboxone is not approved for treatment of pain, but buprenorphine is. The halflife is much longer than codeine or oxycontin, but it is much harder to stop taking once you are dependent. I don't know why your doctor would think that you won't get tolerance to suboxone, if you take it long enough, you will. I know that it's not easy, but this one may be time for a second opinion.
Avatar f tn The standard 5 panel tests looks for codeine metabolites. Hydro turns into codeine, as does darvocet and or course codeine. But, Oxy is a different animal. That's why there's a special test for Oxy. There's also a special Methadone test. The only advice I can give is to request a confirmation screen where the urine is sent off for analysis instead of the standard test strips. Also, you can request a blood test and offer to pay for it yourself if necessary.
Avatar f tn not exactly..oxy in theory is a bit stronger than hydro..and sub is a different type of narcotic than the other 2..but conversoin charts do compare the strength of sub to other narcotics..but it is not really the effect they r comparing//but the strength...i do believe there is a conversion chart in avisg's journal...
Avatar f tn Briefly, IMO, if you get good pain management, you may be able to build yourself back up a bit and then back down. Long-term/short-term ... debatable. I've done both. I had Fentanyl and took a while to jump from that to oxycontin. I didn't have trouble dropping from oxycontin to oxycodone.
667913 tn?1242700488 I think one is just time released (oxycontin) while the other is regular but you know it is really easy to find this info on the internet -- just google it.
Avatar f tn Each round, hard, white, flat-faced tablet, bevelled-edged, engraved with "3" on one side and "McNEIL" on the other, contains acetaminophen 300 mg and caffeine 15 mg, in combination with codeine phosphate 30 mg. Nonmedicinal ingredients: cellulose, cornstarch, and magnesium stearate. This medication does not contain gluten, lactose, sodium metabisulfite, or tartrazine.
1264863 tn?1391118193 I started Jan 9th and I was taking 60mg of OxyContin. This week if my first week off and I feel better than ever. I am clear, stopped forgetting things, I'm happy! And best of all I have LESS pain! I am still taking some Oxycondone for pain when needed but that is it. Anyone who is thinking of tapering, DO IT! You won't regret it!
Avatar m tn , doctors who will not mention new drugs -- please read on) help. I have been addicted to Oxycontin for about two years. Before I was addicted to Oxycocet and Tylenol 4 and weaned mself off successfully; although, when I told the doctor that I wanted to get of Oxycocet, he said the "usual routine" is to use Oxycontin. I have been taking about 5 80 mg tablets per day.
Avatar f tn Effexor and tramadol together = massive mistake or me! I thought I was guna die! I'm glad it works or u ok tho. My depressions more severe so I'm currently off tram for a bit...til I do take it in small doses only again if I really need to.
732412 tn?1231622884 I will point out-- my addiction to IV fentanyl started out with codeine, and my relapse 7 years after treatment was from using... codeine. It is not a benign drug. I have to get to the airport-- I wish you the best, and hope things work out OK.
Avatar f tn I'm wondering if 1 oxycontin (80mg) that my BF gives me every day to assist in my wean will help me. I am having minimal WD signs but the physical pain for which I was initially prescribed 3 Dils (8mgs each) per day by the former doc comes roaring back every morning. I am no longer on the Dilaudids.
Avatar m tn If you want to use the Tylenol 3 to get off the oxycontin so that it is easier to quit the tylenol 3 rather than oxy, then yes that is a better plan and you would also be in less severe withdrawl by doing this.. But you do not want to try and replace that feeling you were getting from the oxy with tylenol 3 because no matter how much you take it will never make you feel as strong as the oxy either..
Avatar f tn Nurofen contains ibuprofen, and the 'plus' is codeine. Codeine is converted to morphine in the liver (to varying degrees in different cultural populations), so from a practical standpoint there is no difference between an addiction to nurophen vs any other opiate, such as oxycodone or heroin.
Avatar n tn I'm glad you don't want the codeine cough syrup. Codeine is very weak compared to oxycodone and since it hasn't been that long since you were taking it the codeine probably wouldn't do a darn thing to you. By the way, congrats on your clean time! Be proud of yourself for what you have accomplished! Keep up the good fight buddy!
801188 tn?1241647626 i've no idea why i have such resitance to the Vs, I've not abused them in the past. Occasionally taken one whilst trying to taper down the doeine from the stupid amount I was taking. Only thing I wonder is whether the Vs I have are a)10mg as I think, or b) fakes. I don't think they're fake, i got them from a pharmacy - not exactly legitimately, but a pharmacy nonetheless.Maybe I need to try and check whether maube they're 1mg not 10?
210982 tn?1280983895 Yes although dosage and frequency of usage does matter. In my experience morphine, high dosage oxycontin and methadone are the most effective (and the most addicting) pain killers.
Avatar m tn yes but taking codeine will help you reduce down it works... I was on oxycontin then reduced down to trammadol then codeine now off everything and I havent suffered any withdrawal symptoms. trust me it works you arent denying your body what its used too..
