Hello everybody, I am new to this board and want to voice my concerns. I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. Here is the situation: I have been taking Percocet's constantly for a year and a half now. Typically, I take four 500mg's a day (2000 mg total of Oxycodone) My dear friend started with Percocet & Vicodin and moved on to Oxycontin, recently taking up to 200mgs a day. The both of us are very close and are the only ones who know about one another's troubles.

I am currently taking percocet as a break through med with morphine sustained release. I didn't have a choice on what I could take for breakthrough medicine. Approximately one year ago she was prescribed Oxycontin (180 mg per day) for relief from pain of fibromyalgia, DDD and carpal tunnel. At least the addict knows where to find a street or internet dealer, but most of us pain patients do not even know where to start in the black market on the street or on the web. And if we do get a dealer on the street or one of these phony doctor/pharmacy websites we have to pay ten times the price for a pain med than from a pharmacy. And more often than not these internet "no rx" pharmacies are scams that give you fake pain or anxiety meds.

(So is determination/desire) Remember, a week of acute w/d is a small price to pay to get your life back! You CAN do this. Stick close to the forum as the time approaches & post for support.
