I need answers!, i swallowed 56 x 10mg oxycontin, 56 x 20mg oxycontin, 84 x 30mg clonazepam, and roughly 60 x 30mg duloxetine, this was on aug 13th 2010.....i'm still here...wtf !....how can my body deal with such a high amount of drugs......my doc seems to think they stuck in my gullet and did not get absorbed........this is an insult to my intelligence !.......can you please provide answers please.
some would argue that as hydro is their doc...and oxycontin has no tyelonol///pers do...so oxycontin can be abused more easily..ie snorting and shooting...neither r a picnic to get off of...at 12 days u have a good bit of clean time...what were the reasons u quit 12 days ago??? they havent changed and it will take some time for ur brain to heal..u r possibly depressed and using to avoid the doomer feelings u r having...can u hang tight?
Does anyone know if an overdose of oxcotin can cause kidneys to start shutting down? My mother who is elderly and very small and frail was given oxycotin for severe pain for gout. She slept for 4 days straight and they couldn't wake her up in those 4 days. Now, we\re told her kidneys are starting to shut down. We know she was given too much oxycotin as we heard one of the doctors in the ER mention the amount she was given.
I was reading up the effects of crushing up the oxys and it read that doin so would or could result in an overdose.. i am in the process of tapering off... i was just woundering just for peice of mind what the dose would have to be to actually overdose... i am currently on 120mgs a day and dropping.. i am scared a night sometimes to fall asleep do to respitorie depression.. thanks any feedback would be appriciated.
I have a friend that has spinal cancer and is on 10mg Oxycontin 8 times a day and 40mg morphine 6 times a day. Due to his illness I want to make sure that when I count his pills that he will not take to much. I would like to know if anyone knows what the fatal amount of 10mg Oxycontin would be fatal. Recently I read that if you take more than 40 mg of OxyContin at one time then it can cause death or permanent brain damage. Well when I was ages 14 and 16 I took one of my mom's 80 mg OxyContin pill and I remember I felt like throwing up for like 16 hours straight. I took it in the evening, went to bed, and woke up the next day still very nauseous. I started to feel completely fine about 20 hours after I took it.

He had a reaction that I thought might be an overdose. He got dizzy, his breathing decreased and he was confused. I told me Mom to bring him to the ER. They gave his something to counteract the medicine and he was fine- thank God.
Yes, 30 mg @ 100 pills a week. Unfortunately she passed away 4 weeks ago from accidental overdose from the oxy. A general practioner was prescribing this to her. From what I was told cancer patient don't even take that much. I'm pretty upset because I think the doctor should not have been giving her that amount. We didn't realize she was going on a weekly basis to get a script until we found all the receipts. I just don't know what to think or do.

Hi. I've been on these boards a long time. My last failed treatment had to fail because about 9 weeks into the treatment, I developed retinal hemmorhaging. My husband (we've divorced now, but not because of this). He had to do my shot that night into the back of the forearm because I felt so awful. As he prepared the medication, I had to keep correcting what he was doing.
s a day and now he is trying to quit himself. I have begged him to go to the doctor or treatment center to get help and he keeps telling me that he has to do this on his own. He's taking methadone to try to come down.
Hello, I have been on Oxycontin for a few months now (very low dose) and notice it only works about 5 hours. If my doctor increased my dose would it work closer to 8-12 hours? (I have been taking 15mg every 6 hours). I am thinking if I just take the whole 30mg maybe it would last longer than taking it in halves and when I reach 8 hours take break through meds.
Anyone know if you have taken a higher dose if it last longer?

- i am on it for a bad addiction to heroin and oxycontin(snorted) and its a great treatment option for me, but its def. addicting too.and its easy to overdose because it builds up in youre body and you dont realise you have so much inyoure system when you take more and you end up dying of respiratory dpression(especially when mixed with benzoslike valium or xanax or alcohol). since its been a year slowly taper youre dosage down and you should only feel minor discomfort..
