My brother is 23, he has been addicted to oxycontin for 3 years. He recently was arrested and charged with poss. of a controlled substance with intent to manufacturer, deliver or sell. He had a large amount of oxycontin in his car and was not selling it. I'm his sister (25) and i bailed him out of jail. He has come to live with me. I want him to get sober, The charges are likely to be dropped because the cop broke his wrist while the police video SHOWS he is not resisting arrest at all.

I've been addicted to oxycontin/percocets/suboxone (off and on when not getting high, for almost 2 years now. My life has completely changed, but I don't need to get into that. Let's basically say I used to be the captain of high school sports, you know the whole jock story, and then got into drugs hardcore, went from 185 lbs to 140 lbs.
We have now been addicted to Oxycontin for the past 3 1/2 years now I never realized the withdraws when we were doing the REAL ocs but now that they've been changed to OPS and that's all we can get I've noticed our withdraws are a lot more intense and we get so irritated with one another we argue constantly, keep in mind we were best friends and never really fought until these ops came into play.

For a while, I was doing oxy's casually, just for "fun" with some of my friends. Nobody we know is prescribed to them, but a lot of people we know sell them, making it Very easy to get it. A couple months ago, I experienced withdrawals for the first time.
I get urine drug tested every month when i go to get my prescriptions from a pain management clinic. I have tested positive for either Hydrocodone or Oxycontin the last 6 times I tested. I havent taken Hydrocodone in 5 years and Ive never taken Oxycontin. The dr doesnt believe me and Im probably gonna be released because of it. I cant make him believe me. Can anyone tell me if any of the following drugs can give a false positive for Hydrocodone or Oxycontin.
Heating pads would help then even a heated blanket since you can not take a bath, They also sell those heated wraps for about any body part. I do not think you will get restless lg but if you do bananas are good for the potassium our they sell a product Hylands restful leg it would help, Calming teas for the anxiety. Your emotions will be all over This is normal ! Imodium if needed. lastly keeping a positive attitude will make it that mush easier.
v been prescribed about every anti-depressant on the market, as well as a couple different bi-polar meds, all of which did absolutely nothing for me, except have negative side effects. I was also prescribed Klonopin for the anxiety, but I literally felt zero relief from taking 1mg, and higher doses didn't help either. They just made me forgetful and tired, but I still had racing thoughts in my mind and anxiety.
I understand your thought process and how you need to deal with your pain but there are some CP sufferers that need more than 60 per month. The quantities all depend on what dosage the Doctor prescribes for you, for-instance, 2-5mg Oxycodone tabs would NOT be enough to keep the pain at bay for the entire day. You also must figure in the persons pain level and tolerance ( amount of time on the particular med) to justify the dosage.
Why do you feel you can't talk to your doctor? Has this type of thing happened before? Over the past 4 years I've had a few mishaps with medication and my doctor was very understanding. As I'm sure you know, methadone has a long half-life so how do you know when you need to start the oxycontin? And where are you getting the oxycontin? You could really jeopardize your relationship with your doctor by doing this.
s some advice. You should be taking the OxyContin for persistent pain and the Percocet for breakthrough pain. Since OxyContin is a 12 hour extended-release formulation of oxycodone it can probably be reduced to just twice daily initially since there's only 24 hours in one day. Of course Percocet is an immediate release formulation of oxycodone and thus has a shorter half-life than the OxyContin. Detoxification from oxycodone depends on your level of pain and your desire to stop taking it.
So because I want to get off oxycontin cause it is so bad for you has anyone at all tried the above. Better to tell doc got it off a web site rather than a friend.
Does anyone have experience with this. I have only been trying her method for three days and it seems quite OK but still need other sometimes. Dont want to ruin anything either.

It is a difficult question to answer as everyone reponds to different medications differently. While Oxycontin may work well for me, your mother may not tolerate it well. Her doctor will have to keep experimenting with different combinations until he or she finds what works.
There are people her that do well on moriphine, I am not one of them. I actually tolerate the Oxycontin well and it works for me. Does your mother take MS Contin?
Im a 22 year old female and I have been addicted to oxycontin for 7 months. It was a hidden habit that only me and my bank account new about. Recently i gained the courage to come off of it. I was snorting 80-120 mg a day every day, working all week just to support my habit. I am now at day 7 of withdrawing, the first 4 days being the worst. My problem now is completely mental.
Take a good quality multivitamin with b complex and especially b6, and 1000mg vitamin c. Take a magnesium and calcium supplement before bed. Then just before bed that hot bath or shower, and thiamine (amino acid supplement) or a few cups of strong green or black tea, which is a natural source of thiamine, about 22mg per cup. The calcium and magnesium help calm you, the thiamine helps you sleep.
