Avatar m tn Ive been taking about 100mgs of oxycontin a day for about 1.5 month now. What do i do? Quit cold turkey or taper off? I cannot take days off work.
Avatar n tn ive been on oxycodone(oxycontin CR) for 6 years , 80mg 2x daily now for 3 years , and this is just not controlling my pain . Is the opana er a reasonable choice if i was to begin a different med for chronic pain relief from several back/spinal conditions which continue to worsen year after year? And what is the exchange rate for oxycontin 80 mg cr to opana er ?
Avatar f tn s definitely going to eventually affect your life with all the sleep deprivation. Oxycontin CR lasts 12 hours. Below is a great site from a pain management specialist who doesn't believe in the "addiction" myth some doctors perpetuate. http://foresttennant.com/index.html For natural stuff, I have had some lessening of the pain with cayenne pepper cream. It acts on the nerves to deaden the signal to the brain.
406989 tn?1202051282 first, forgive me if this has been asked... (newbee). i've taken oxycontin for about 10 yrs due to pain but now i can't do anything without it or just feel that way. i was takin 2 80mg's twice a day and 2 10mg lortab's at most twice a day as breakthrough med. i can't remember hurting as bad as i do now. for the last three months or so i've cut down to 1 40mg twice a day. 5 days ago i quit cold turkey. it's a b%*&ch!
Avatar n tn I went off of the sub about a month ago, had about two weeks of hell with the RLS, made an appointment with a different doc in the same clinic and he felt that taking Requip for 14 days and the other sleep aids should have worked by then. He felt there was nothing left to do but put me on oxycontin CR, it has worked well but i already feel like i need more.... I am not sure what to do now i am already dependent on the oxy. Any ideas from the the group that has been through everything.
Avatar m tn Hi all. I pray you are well. I'm on Day 17 in my two 30mgs a day prescribed OxyContin withdrawal. I've battled this long, but can't remember lack of sleep being this bad. My legs were restless, but that's a little better. Now it's the insomnia with my backpain. I've been taking a non habit OTC sleep aid, but it doesn't always work. Any ideas on when I might be able to be "reset" enough through withdrawals that my normal sleep patterns come back.
Avatar n tn Used 10 mg CR twice a day for 2 months following knee surgery - total replacement. I was not aware stopping even this low a dose would cause me problems, but it has. It has been 24 hrs since my final dose, I could not sleep last night and am now suffering through horrible hot/cold chills and feeling awful in general. Absolutely no appetite - even for water. Any suggestions on how long this will last? Any suggestions on how to make this period of withdrawal more tolerable?

Avatar n tn I am 23 years old and when I was 17 got on oxycontin for reacreation by my cousin and best friend who was shot in a hunting accident when he was 15, and we are the same age. I never have done any other drugs and took my first when I was 17 and never even heard of it before, we just went fishing and he asked me to try it and I did, but I would have never tried a prescription pill if it would have been anyone else I just really trusted him and didnt know about pills or anything like that.

Avatar f tn Hi, I am a 32yr old female who has been on pain meds since 2008 from a terrible accident. I'm currently on Percocet 10/325, 30mg Oxycontin CR, 1200mg Neurontin 3x day and Zanaflex. I was recently diagnosed with Graves Disease which is an autoimmune disease associated with ur thyroid. I have noticed that I'm needing more pain meds than normal to relieve my pain. My question is, does this disease affect the relief I am supposed 2 be receiving from my normal dose?

Avatar f tn Hi all, Just wondering, is there any 1 out there that has had a positive experience with Paxil CR. I read alot of horror stories and am just wondering if it has actually helped anyone. You see, I have had panic disorder my whole life. I am 51 now. I was put on Paxil CR a few years ago and I thought it was a miracle drug. Totally got rid of my panic attacks. Still have some anxiety but am menopausal also.
Avatar n tn I want to wean myself off the Norpace Cr , how do I do that and what is the safest way ?
Avatar f tn Due to insurance changes, my doc has changed me to Luvox CR. My usual dose of Luvox is 150 mg once a day. The Luvox CR comes in 100 mg capsules. Would it be okay to take 200 mg of Luvox CR on one day and 100 mg of Luvox CR the next, and alternate since I can't divide the capsules? Thank you.
667015 tn?1268595478 I have had 3 failed back surgeries and now have a SCS (Spinal Cord Stimulator) implanted in me for pain reduction, I take perk 3-325 6/day Lyrica 250mg 2/day and at nite I take either Ambient Cr or Tramazipne 1-2/day at nite. Now even with all of this I still cant seem to sleep that much. I am right now running on a 58hr day with no sleep. I know that soon my body will shut down and I will rest i get about 8-10 hrs when this happens and then its another long day for me.
Avatar n tn Ambien CR does come in 12.5 mg -- I have some. the regular ambien does not, but ambien CR does. just clarification.
Avatar m tn I needed advice badly from him and he was too busy to help,so I said screw that and an actual Pain Management doctor was for me. I was put Oxycontin CR 20 mg 3x a day and Norco only for breakthrough pain. I was on that for years. Finally to the point. I fell down marble stairs and did extensive damage to my knees. I go to a milieu of Pt my legs are getting stronger but the pain has worsened. I was given just Norco for the past 2 years and it was fine.
1065045 tn?1272462838 Today is my last day of pills (I have weaned down to around 50mgs/day). I was taking OxyContin 20mg (up to as much as 12 pills a day) as well as Oxycodone 10mg IR. I've been taking them off and on (more on than off) for about a year. It's finally time to deal with this; I've taken Monday & Tuesday of next week off to get off these things. My date with Satan is probably gonna be around 11:00 AM Saturday morning.
Avatar n tn anyway, we finally moved and I was able to see my old doctor for a checkup. She prescribed Paxil CR for panic, and we also found out I had ovarian cancer. I had surgery, all is fine for now. still on the Paxil CR 25 mg. 9 months ago my husband was laid off, and still is. We finally qualified for state medical coverage, but it does not cover Paxil or Paroxetine. My Dr. switched me to Prozac 20 mg. whcih they do pay for.
1796524 tn?1315586487 Watch out for "CR", "XR" and "SR" versions of meds. As far as I know, only Wellbutrin "CR" and Effexor "XR" are superior than the originals. I was taking 6mg's of Klonopin/day for many years before swiching to Xanax, also 6mg's/day. I suffer severe anxiety, and although the K-pins were O.K., they took too long to work and didn't stop panic attacks.
