Oxycontin cost

Common Questions and Answers about Oxycontin cost

oxycontin

Avatar m tn ok so i quit doing oxycontin cold turkey (160mg) a day. I'm now on day 6 (finally getting life back in order) and i have a couple questions about aftercare. I don't ever want to go back to the way i was before so im trying to figure out: 1) Does it cost money in canada to meet with a counsellor? (don't really want to go to the meetings) Kind of looking for a step by step program type thing to keep me clean? 2)Can you keep it anonymous and not release your name?
Avatar m tn Canada is on the verge of banning oxycontin and it is expected that it will be happening in every province.
Avatar f tn GENERIC NAME: oxycodone. BRAND NAMES: Oxycontin In case someone was unaware of the names.
Avatar f tn I have had 2 back surgeries the last causing constant pain. I have been on oxycontin for pain for years. Even though it only dulls the pain, i am able to move now and have to raise my grandson, who is 9 and i have been raising him alone for the past 8 years.
Avatar m tn That is correct! Now if she is taking the oxycontin then it would be around that price. Oxycontin is the extended release form of oxycodone ( percocet). The salvation army or catholic social services may help with them she could always try.
Avatar f tn Hi Everyone, I was just wondering if Norco, 10-325 is easier to withdraw from than Oxycontin 80mg. My friend was taking 2 oxycontin 80mg a day and told her doctor ( they were not prescribed) and she told the doctor that the only thing stopping her from quitting oxycontin was the horrible withdrawals. He put her on Norco and told her to wean down with those, and that going cold turkey off Norcos ( once she's weaned down to 5 a day) is easier than w/d from oxycontin.
Avatar n tn the only thing im wondering is if the suboxone will give me bad withdrawls if i only take it for 4 to 5 days max. will all the oxycontin be out of my system so that when i stop the 1mg of suboxone i have been taking for the past 4 to 5 days so that i wont go into withdrawls all over again.
Avatar f tn Well, I did a lot of reading and thinking this weekend. And after all that, I've decided (and sent an email) to talk to the NP at the pain clinic about switching me over to a long-acting medication for my pain. I'm thinking it will give me better relief. Even though I'm on a high dose now (45 mg. every 4 hours of oxycodone,) my pain seems to return after 2 to 3 hours.
725248 tn?1316162245 Are you thinking about switching to Methadone due to the cost of the Oxycontin? If that is the case there are other long acting meds that are much better than Methadone. I have heard so many horror stories of others, and one of my own, that I would never take it again unless it was the last med on Earth for pain. What other meds have you tried? I also noticed you were taking 90mg. of Morphine after your surgery. Why does the doctor have you at such a low dose of Oxycontin?
Avatar n tn So before ruling it out, be sure to get the cost information from your insurance. I am not taking Oxycontin but I did price it as it was a medication that was considered awhile back. There are other long-acting opiods such as MS Contin, Kadian, Avinza (morphine extended release) that are also good medications for the treatment of chronic pain.
582937 tn?1218177043 I was going through wd when my Dr gave me "one last Rx" which I am tapering off of. My story in brief: SUV -vs- Nissan and I lost. Three herniated disks and Fibromyalgia on top of that. I tried various (read taht every) opiates until we found Oxycontin. Finally! So for seven years I've been on this stuff-- when I have it, it's a miracle and when I don't it's a nightmare. I have also been using cannabis tea to help (a lot) with several Female Conditions. For years.
135691 tn?1271097123 While I was in the hospital these past couple of days, they started me on Oxycontin 40mg sustained release tablet. I've previously been taking percocets and I'm finding that, the longer I take them, the less of an effect they have on me, which I understand is totally normal. At the hospital, they were giving me the 40mg tablet every 6 hours and I literally felt in a constant daze - which was fine, when I was confined to a hospital bed!
Avatar n tn To make a long story short, I have been on Oxycontin 40mg 4 times a day with Hydrocodone 10/325 for breakthrough pain. My pain is hardly helped by the drugs. I NEVER feel a buz, I truly only take the pills to help a little with the pain. When Oxy went back to not being generic, the script cost of $758 for a one month supply which made me ask my pain specialist for something that works better and that costs less. What a nightmare ... he switched me to morphine.
Avatar n tn I just witnessed my girl smoking a powder off tin foil..she told me it was oxycontin, and she doesnt do it all the time. She has some wierd tendencies and I think she is still doing them...What are the most unique signs of someone high on oxy's?
Avatar f tn Also take Norco with this medication. Fentanyl works for me but I can no longer afford. Does not cover Oxycontin either which is what i took previous to Fentanyl an insurance stopped covering. Please help an thank you in advance.
Avatar f tn My husband has been taking oxycontin for about 2 years through the Indian Health Service's Pain Management program. (He's disabled and the pain meds were prescribed for chronic hip problems; he stuck to his doses, with frequent monitoring by the clinic.) However the IHS recently discontinued the pain management program and just left the patients with no help in getting off their meds. So he's just tapering himself down.
Avatar n tn one last thing a family doc is ur a big help it cost me$60 for the visit and he gave enough samples for the week cuz he knew I was inbtween INS.
Avatar f tn I have numbness to both feet and some in lower legs now. I am prescribed Oxycontin 40 twice a day and Panadeine forte BT and Oxycodone 20mgs 3rd hourly. I have worsening pain to the area of surgery and now can only find pain relief laying down. If I go walking or standing for too long the pain is unbearable. Am I on a very high pain relief regime?
Avatar m tn t enough, so like you, I asked around and started buying em from the streets at $3 a pop. It cost me about $800 a month and it took a toll on my credit and even more than that. I already have a family. I'm married, I have an eight year old boy and a 6 month old baby girl. Detoxing from this stuff is never easy, but there are drugs that can help. If you can see a doc, go and explain to him/her and most would be able to help you.
