Valium and clonazepam are both benzodiazepines, which are no different from opioids when it comes to being addictive. So if you trade off the oxycontin for the doloxene, valium and clonazepam, you will only be trading one addictive substance that is strong enough to sufficiently control your pain, for THREE addictive substances that are not nearly as strong and probably won't do as good a job at controlling your pain.
Took her to a specialist, who agreed that sudden discontinuation of Subatex and Valium after prolonged use can be fatal. He has put her back on both, with a plan to gradually wean herself off. Hopefully she will be feeling OK within a few hours, and totally weaned off in a few weeks. Thanks again, much appreciated.
Oh gees! I didn't know you had replied to my post about this. I'm so sorry I never replied to you. I do appreciate what you wrote, so thanks. I'm off Tramadol and feel terrific, mentally. No anxiety whatsoever since I stopped it on the 11th April. Weaning off valium & zopiclone now. Next will be the Oxycontin, hopefully, as it doesn't seem to help my arthritis pain much, but it does a little, I guess. I'll wait and see, as I'll have to get off valium first.
Not sure which drug had the worse anxiety in withdrawal. I used methadone, pot, OxyContin, MScontin, and Valium. I think the Valium was the hardest. I cold turkey off them all at the same time. Major seizures had to stay in HOSP for a bit. Am doing great now. Still have some paws but nothing like it was before.
In my case with taking 40mg. oxycontin 3 times a day, oxycodone10mg. 5 times a day and valium10mg. 4 times a day what should my level be after given a blood test? I want to understand what I am reading when I look at my test results. Just a guess would be nice if possible.Blood test was sent to a lab for results.
First, I'd like to give you a bit of a background on me. I've been struggling with depression and since I was a senior in high school. I was hospitalized for a week my senior year because I wanted to kill myself. I recently completed my sophomore year of college. Last summer I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I am in a long distance relationship. He lives in GA and we've been together for a little over a month.
I was on it for over 8 months and it kept me clean from a nasty habit with snorting heroin and oxycontin for over two years, along wtih benzos(xanax, valium,klonopin) and sleeping pils(ambien, lunesta). I had a huge tolerance for opiate and once I was in bad withdrawals about two days they amde me wait, I was given my first dose of suboxone, They started at 4 mgs and it took away my withdrawals isntantly and gave me a warm buzz that lasted a really long time.
I am off methadone 125 days and off OxyContin and Valium 191 days and I can feel the light at the end of this tunnel. I am feeling so much better and I know there may be rough times ahead but I also know that I am making a full recovery. I have a new appreciation for life and am grateful. This disease has made me a better person. There were many times I really did not think I would make it but I trudged through everything that was in my way. I faked it till I made it.
Can anyone help me, I have read a few posts but alot of the drugs you talk about are not available in Canada. My Son is addicted to Oxycontin a drug I take on a daily basis for chronic pain. I went into taking it myself knowing I would be on the drug for the rest of my life, It's a matter of pain management and being able to function. I only found out about my son's addiction this week I knew but didn't realise how bad it was till I had to go pay for my Jewelry he pawned.
BE VERY CAREFUL. Benzodiazepines are contraindicated for use with Sub....unless like these posters...a doc has said it was okay.
Using them together cam cause serious respiratory depression.
Just be careful, please. My advice would be to find out from the doc what he could safely take.
thanks so much- strange that xanax is stronger than valium. I've taken both in the past and find that valium REALLY relaxed me and hit me- whereas xanax really did nothing but make me sleepy and they were the strong ones too! I've never had a problem with them though- so am not worried at all about another addiction. But as I said- I have NO idea if I'll even feel wd's after I taper down and then jump.
I know now that this journey may be much longer and harder but I have come pretty far. I stopped methadone a a few weeks before stopping the Valium and OxyContin. I hope I will make a full recovery and it won't take 2 or more years. My addiction specialist said that she thinks 6 months to a year. Just don't want to go crazy the anxiety and lack of sleep are horrendous.
I have been using narcotic painkillers off and on since about 12th grade. (I am now 22). I was clean from Feb 2005- August 2006. In the past 6 months I have been taking about 5-6 10mg percocets everyday. Within the past month I have been either doing that or snorting ATLEAST 1 80mg oxycontin a day. My friends finally found out about my "double life" and this gave me a strong incentive to quit. I havent touched any opiates in about 48 hours...
Not sure how much your using,,But I was using 120-180mg of Oxy plus 2-3 somas a night..You need to ne honest with your Doc, and get some valium and clondine for sleep..First 3-4 days are the worst with flu like symptoms..You may sneeze, yawn alot, and have trouble sleeping, and maybe the runs..Immoduin AD will help..Take lots of hot baths, Vitiamains, and drink lots of water to flush out toxins! I'm 59 days clean and life never looked so good!
I will be fine for several days and then suddenly I get sick to my stomach and start throwing up. The most current episode began on Tuesday night. I have zero appetite and force myself to eat. I have been down since then. Nothing seems to help. Im on 80 to 120m of oxy daily. I been continous for about a year. I was on vicodin for 3 yrs prior.

i couldnt exactly tell if it was methadone youare on for pain or other painkillers, but assuming its methadone you are on for pain its definitely going to be hard to get off of, it is a very effective pain killer and long alsting, and prduces less of a rush or euphoria than heroin and toehr strong opiates, but it is very addicting and can be lethal.- i am on it for a bad addiction to heroin and oxycontin(snorted) and its a great treatment option for me, but its def. addicting too.

I have an anxiety disorder as well along with depression that is currently in remission. I take valium and remeron for both these conditions along with percocet and morphine.
You can always call your pharmacist and they can also address your concerns but based on experience from taking these types of medications long term, you are most likely okay and the headache may be unrelated to the percocet.
