Avatar m tn What are the withdrawal symptoms and side effects from oxycodone? How long do they last?
Avatar f tn But some of the side effects can be very uncomfortable. The main side effects of oxycodone withdrawal are the same as other opiates and opioids are classified as mild, moderate or severe.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had issues with withdrawal symptoms coming on suddenly? I know the Opana ER doesn't last 12 hours (even my doc warned me this was the case) but this latest batch of opana seems to poop out & give me old sweats about 4 hours after taking it. I've been on Opana ER, 20 mg 2x/day for a couple of months. It's my 2nd experience with long-acting opioids (1st was Oxycontin MS, quit after 10 days due to gluten issues).
Avatar f tn Did you taper off the vibryd or quit abruptly? You can't just switch from one medication to another even in the same class and avoid withdrawal -- these meds are not easy to stop taking and it must be done carefully. Unless you completely stop taking a medication before starting another it's impossible to tell if your symptoms are a sign you're suffering withdrawal and quit too quickly or are side effects of the new medication.
Avatar m tn They seem to keep you calm and really help with the cravings and side effects for some. Your not taking much so u may want to just have someone u trust taper u. I know if your like me, I have no one I can trust. LOL.. found that out the hard way. But i am trying the lyrica I have had in my pill bag for quite a while after reading that it helps alot of people, just started today, but usually by now I would b having cravings and probably have given in and taken another oxy 30.
612876 tn?1355514495 Weaning should be slow -- no more than 10% per month -- to avoid severe negative side effects of withdrawal. Medical treatment of withdrawal symptoms should be provided. These may include treatment for runny nose, diarrhea, etc. Hyperalgesia is a common symptom of opioid withdrawal. While symptom fades with time, in the early months of withdrawal it can be quite debilitating depending on your underlying pain condition.
Avatar f tn I began to realize that it was possible this could be withdrawal and made a note to check the symptoms tomorrow at work. So here is day 3. I'm miserable. I feel like I was hit by a bus and have the worst flu of my life. I looked up the symptoms and was shocked to see that I had been experiencing precisely what cold turkey withdrawal is. Over the counter sleep aids haven't helped at all. Nobody in the world knows I was using these pills so nobody knows what I'm going through.
Avatar f tn I have morphine cr 45mg 3x/day which I asked to change due to side effects. Dr put me on Oxycodone 20mg 4x/day. After my back surgery recuperation I want to stop the meds. Which one should I be on for an easier withdrawal. I am scared because I have been on this for ages. When I have the surgery I can ask the dr to use the med that would be easier for me to withdraw so what do you think.
Avatar f tn Ibuprofen/Oxycodone All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome when using Ibuprofen/Oxycodone: Anxiety; constipation; diarrhea; dizziness; drowsiness; headache; indigestion; infection; nausea; nervousness; sleeplessness; stomach pain; swelling; tiredness; upset stomach; vomiting; weakness.
Avatar f tn You are now likely either in withdrawal from coming off oxycodone, or in precipitated withdrawal from the buprenorphine's opioid blocking effects. I wish I had an easy answer for you, but the right way forward at this point depends on many different factors-- factors that I do not know. I would recommend getting back on the meds you were taking, and making sure that your doc understands the complex effects of buprenorphine-- including the opioid blocking effects of the medication.
2030686 tn?1351688548 Interferon can exacerbate existing medical conditions. Chills, body aches, fever or flu like symptoms are all normal side effects of interferon. High doses of vicodin means you're getting a high dose of acetaminophen which can be very liver unfriendly. Those with hepc should not exceed 2000 mg of acetaminophen daily.
Avatar n tn Now I am just on the wellbutrin and I am fine, no side-effects at all. Also, the effexor withdrawal symptoms did have nausea, headache, vertigo... as well as other symptoms too for me, so it sounds like it could be effexor withdrawal for you too maybe. Hope the withdrawal symptoms get better soon! I really like wellbutrin, I hope it works well for you too!
Avatar n tn I felt it the first time off but have been back on twice and had no side effects with withdrawal, nothing at all. SO who knows what to expect? You say you are taking some other drugs as well but don't say if they are legit or street. Either way please don't mix without doc's knowledge, it's a certain disaster looming if so. It's not the Wellbutrin, it's Effexor withdrawals.
Avatar m tn I'm a fellow expert on Xanax use-long term. I've taken it for 26 years and have developed a tolerance to it over the years so that it no longer is helping at the dosage I take. You must continue to raise and raise the dosage to get the desired effect. My suspicion is that is what is happening to you. The dosage you are on is no longer effective, your body is crying out for more, you are not giving it more, and it is responding with WITHDRAWAL symptoms.
Avatar n tn Shortly after I started the drug, I started having hot flashes and bad leg cramps. My doctor then prescribed Effexor for those side effects. I started at 37.5 mg and worked up to 75mg which I took for 5 years. A month ago he changed my prescription to 37.5 mg and said to stop once the medicine ran out. I took my last pill 3 days ago. I feel horrible. I have nausea, dizziness, a swoshing feeling when I turn my head from side to side and just feel bad overall. I have been cranky and moody.
Avatar f tn t just quit Zoloft -- you need to taper off it as most people get some withdrawal from quitting these meds. That most likely explains your symptoms more so than the Prozac. Often, at the tail end of a taper down, Prozac will be used to help when withdrawal is bad because it's considered easier to stop taking, but that's only at the very end of the taper. So you're probably suffering from Zoloft withdrawal because your doc took you off it abruptly instead of tapering.
Avatar f tn Thanx for that great information Jeff. I found that interesting; that the cost of this drug can be so expensive when purchased illegally. To include the patient that was taking upwards of 700mg a day? When you honestly put all this into perspective, all oxycodone/contin is...is synthetic heroin. My personal hands on experience with this pain killer has been a "love hate relationship".
Avatar f tn Supplementation with DHEA/DHEAS may be a preferred treatment in women due to its ability to raise androgen levels without significant side effects. Anecdotally, rotation from one opioid medication to another may also be effective. In summary, opioid treatment is intended to reduce patients’ pain, and to improve physical and social functioning.
Avatar f tn It takes far more than a week for withdrawal symptoms to abate but you should speak to your psychiatrist about it for follow up as regards what is happening.
Avatar m tn If she is not having side effects from them, there is no need to rush the tapering process and go through withdrawal!
Avatar f tn However, I have taken other SSRIs and SNRIs, and while the withdrawal effects can be really unsettling and uncomfortable, they do decrease in severity and eventually go away with time. I wonder whether the tremors are a side effect from starting Paxil, or a withdrawal symptom from weaning off the Cymbalta, or both?
Avatar n tn the first batch of symptoms you mentioned were definitely withdrawal symptoms. Back when I was first taking Paxil I had gotten really sick and I had forgotten to take my Paxil for two days, and I got even worse. When i told my doctor I had forgotten to take my pills she freaked and told me It was the beginning of a withdrawal and I can NEVER do that again. and My advice if you are thinking of weaning off Prestiq, to talk to the doctor before you start.
175734 tn?1225134440 A lot depends on how the drug effects you. I have heard methodone has little side effects but getting off it can be a horror story on it's own. There will be more experienced ppl on the forum that can better answer your question. I too am working with my CPC to find a long lasting pain med that "works" for me without side effects.
