Oxycodone withdrawal duration

Common Questions and Answers about Oxycodone withdrawal duration

oxycontin

Avatar m tn t have quit. because sub withdrawal is way worse then oxycodone withdrawal without a doubt. and I would not advise anyone to cold turkey quit subs if you do quit just quit the oxycodone I have done that and was only 4 days compared to the duration of sub withdrawal. but can anyone answer my ? that has done it before honestly. thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn Then it took about another 2 weeks to feel completely normal. Everyone is different. You probably will have a shorter duration and less intense withdrawal then I did. But everyone is different. Don't do suboxone or any other replacement. Everytime I tried those methods I went right back to dope. I would expect you to have about a 2-3 withdrawal with aches and pains, insomnia, minor stomach issues, and some sneezing and sinus issues.
Avatar n tn Tylenol #3 with the codeine is a little easier withdrawal than the percs...
Avatar n tn Ok, I am just into day 2 of quitting ocycodone cold turkey. My doctor decided this was the best way to do it as opposed to weaning. I have to say he was right. this is hell. He pout me on 30mg of cymbalta to help ease the anxiety which seems to be helping however tyhe nausea is really bad. I cant eat, sleep or really do much of anything.
Avatar m tn Was just curious. Do withdrawal symptoms differ depending on what type of opiates ones using? I meen I'm taking perc. 30's will my withdrawals be different from let's say if I was gonna withdrawal from morphine? Or is a withdrawal a withdrawal? I hope that makes sense! I'm just trying to figure out what I'm in for. I've went through withdrawals from large amounts of vicodin E/S, and ofcourse that was miserable.. Recently I've been doing alot of the perc.
Avatar f tn Is it possible to take 3 generic Oxycodone 5/325 (one,3x's daily) for 3 years and not have withdrawal if you suddenly stop?
Avatar f tn About a month prior to surgery, my Dr prescibed my OxyContin (2x20mg per day) to supplement the OxyCodone IM that I had been taking for about 6 months prior. Even though the surgery was successful, my Dr. upped my doseage of OxyContin to 40MG 3x per day and 10mg OxyCodone, 2 every 6 hours as needed, plus Soma every 8 hours. I'm currently in physical theraphy, so I'm wondering if the pain isn't coming mostly from that these days?
Avatar m tn Several years ago I came off long term, high doses of oxycodone over prescribed by a doctor, no longer in practice. Recently, I saw a pain management doctor who put me on 40 mg qd oxycodone. It has been 2 weeks and already I feel I have developed a habit. How bad would cold turkey be coming off that amount for that duration?
Avatar n tn Withdrawal from opiates takes a long time. As I have said many times, the reason people think that Suboxone withdrawal is so horrible is only because people can sometimes taper off Suboxone, whereas they almost never taper off vicodin or oxycodone. In general, the withdrawal depends on the tolerance (which relates more to the dose you have taken than to the time you have taken it), the half-life of the drug, and the potency of the drug.
Avatar n tn Acute withdrawal from opiates generally lasts 4-14 days, unless you're wd from methadone which can take weeks, alcohol can take up to 30 days, benzos are generally 10-14 days. These are very general estimations, and everyone is different on how wds affect them and how long they last. It's harder to estimate when wds start - opiates can be 4-24 hours after last use, alcohol can be 12-24 hours after last drink, benzos can be 6-24 hours after last use.
Avatar f tn Hi I have a question I was on oxycodone 15 mg for 3 weeks stop taking them had mild withdrawal had to go back on them for 8 days after I had a back procedure would eyes go through withdrawal again
Avatar f tn 5 s a day when I crushed my ribs in 2001 and found it took care of the fibro pain - and the back pain I was having after a day of physical work. My Dr switched me to Oxycodone after an epidural - it's a terrible depressing feeling drug for me. He won't go back to Norco. Do you think I am having withdrawals from taking 3 tabs 10/325 (I only took a few oxycodone) for 5 years or this is fibro. Without the Norco I am always fatigued, achy, and confused feeling.
Avatar f tn Could I get a little feedback on the duration of Suboxone withdrawal? I just read where someone said it has been 45 days and they are still not quite there. If this is the case, I plan to make an appointment with my shrink tomorrow so I can beat the livin' daylights out of him. He told me about 5 days. This is the man that prescribes Suboxone. I was addicted to opiods for 18 years. I might even be a good resource on hard core withdrawal. I have been through it more than two dozen times.
Avatar f tn Is withdrawl really worse if you ct from 120 mg. oxycodone or 30 mg? Opinions or experience welcome.
Avatar f tn You are now likely either in withdrawal from coming off oxycodone, or in precipitated withdrawal from the buprenorphine's opioid blocking effects. I wish I had an easy answer for you, but the right way forward at this point depends on many different factors-- factors that I do not know. I would recommend getting back on the meds you were taking, and making sure that your doc understands the complex effects of buprenorphine-- including the opioid blocking effects of the medication.
Avatar m tn I'm just short of 60 hours since my last dose of oxycodone. I have no withdrawal symptoms at all -- none. I even slept fairly well last night w/o any sleep aids (except melatonin, an over-the-counter supplement which I have been taking for years). For those who don't know my history, I was on oxycodone for about 3 months. The first two were fairly low dosages (10-20 mg/day) to help me deal with significant sciatic pain caused by a synovial cyst in my lumbar spine.
Avatar m tn If you give buprenorphine to a person who is taking nigh doses of oxycodone, you usually cause withdrawal. I am surprised that you were able to add a buprenorphine patch, while taking oxycodone, without getting withdrawal symptoms. Depression is very common during opioid withdrawal, and is the worst symptoms for most people. If you became depressed when the buprenorphine patch was started, I would not be surprised.
Avatar f tn Maybe I explained it wrong. I had withdrawal after 12 hours of last oxycodone. It was hell getting better but still very hard. Day 15 today. Legs still bad.
Avatar m tn It does sound like it could be withdraw symptoms. Usually withdraw last about 7 days. The worst days are days 3-4. Just let him know that things will get better. Luckily he was not on the meds for very long so his withdraw will not be as severe as other peoples on here. He should be fine in no time.
Avatar f tn I'm 83 years old, female, andhave for the largest part of my life lived with addiction to alcohol and tobacco, but am now off of both with family intervention. Two months ago I had hip replacement surgery with oxycodone prescribed for pain after surgery, and now I can't sleep and have severe muscle spasms if I don't have oxycodone around the clock. I'm going for surgical followup in a few days but need to know how to get off this drug without going crazy.
