Sorry to say it but no. The reason you are in withdrawal isn't be wise drugs are still in your system or anything like that. The withdrawal is your body wanting the drugs because it has got used to having them and now does not.

If you are going to quit a drug the body and mind go into a shock wanting the substance. Different drugs withdrawal symptoms are different on the body and mind. Most of us started for a pain situation. In my case I became used to the dose and over time used to feel 'good' and not control the pain anymore. I was miserable but was afraid because I started with a pain situation. Everyone knows in their mind if they are taking a drug for medicinal purposes or abusing it.

Yes I will give you that the z drugs are not as bad as the a drugs but both have pretty bad withdrawal symptoms. I know about these things because I'm a long term chronic pain patient, and long term benzo and tranq patient, as well as badly physically and mentally dependent, and addicted to all 3. Was just curious. Do withdrawal symptoms differ depending on what type of opiates ones using? I meen I'm taking perc. 30's will my withdrawals be different from let's say if I was gonna withdrawal from morphine? Or is a withdrawal a withdrawal? I hope that makes sense! This is not the time to worry about withdrawal and quitting drugs. Inform your doctor about your addiction history, keep a good journal of pain level and when and how much pain killer you are taking and show that to your doctor. Your hip surgery is a big procedure with a strenuous rehab post operative and you will need your energy for that.

Have gotten addicted to oxycodone for about 10 months now. When I called for a refill my doc would not refill the script. This weekend and still I am going through withdrawal. Today (3/4/08) makes day 5. How long does this goes on? Managed to sleep one night. Seems night is the worst time for me. That is when I would wake up every 2 hours and take 2 until about 6:00 am. My arms are crazy. No sweating today. Just sore arms.

I titrated down from 6 x 8mg Suboxone and took my last single dose of 8mg yesterday how long before it is completely out of my system? does anyone know when I can start back on oxycodone?

I am also in recovery for drugs/alcohol for 3.5 years now. I was prescribed Oxycodone (Percocets) for the pain. I have taken them as directed and not looking to refill the script. My doctor and the pharmacist both told me I would not go into withdrawal from the Lortab if I was on the Oxycodone but they were wrong! He told me the same thing about the valium if I took the Klonopin I would not withdrawal and he was wrong there to. I am so upset right now I don't know what to do. The ER doctor told me that if I went into a detox center they would take me off of it cold turkey and might put me in a medically induced coma for 3 days! I am terrified right now!

I take 20 mg of oxycontin morning and night. I use oxycodone twice a day 5/325. I have chronic pain. Severe arthritis, fibromyalgia, senior citizen, unemployed. I am ready to stop taking oxycontin. I've used them for about a year and a half. I had exhaustion and left my job. I've had two knee replacements. I am ready to return to the workforce. I hope half-time. Money is an issue and my husband is ill with Alzheimer's. He is in LTC at this time.

Hi everyone, I have posted here just a couple times, so most of you don't really know me well. I am on 51 mgs of methadone that I started using 7 years ago when I had pain, osteonecrosis in my jawbone, the pain was unbearable and I had no break in pain whatsoever.

I'm aware that those are also known causes, but we were eating dinner and though he was "slow to process", there were no other associated symptoms. when confronted he blamed "coming off lexapro", but i am rather skeptical. Indeed, the use of "recreational" with drugs, is in fact a cop out, but not mine; it's rampant in the literature. this man is a know drug abuser and addict.

It was mild compared to Lortab, Darvocet and Oxycodone. The worst of all was Ultram believe it or not. The worst with all these drugs was the Depression I had. Just make sure 2 Darvocet doesn't lead to 4 then 8.......you get the picture? Good Luck To You..........

Ok, I am just into day 2 of quitting ocycodone cold turkey. My doctor decided this was the best way to do it as opposed to weaning. I have to say he was right. this is hell. He pout me on 30mg of cymbalta to help ease the anxiety which seems to be helping however tyhe nausea is really bad. I cant eat, sleep or really do much of anything.

I've been on Oxymorphone (Opana) 80mg per day and 15mg x 4 per day of Oxycodone for breakthrough pain for about 6 months. Before that I was on Kadian and before that I was on Oxycontin. I started having severe anxiety on the Kadian (200 mg per day) and so my doctor switched me to a slightly higher dose of Opana and the anxiety stopped. I've been on the Opana for about 6 months and I had a Discectomy and Laminectomy about 10 days ago.

I have spinal stenoisis and im on ms contin and oxycodone for the pain. I take 60 mg of ms contin 3 times a day and 60 mg of the oxycodone every 4 to 6 hrs a day. but sometimes lately ive been taking 90 mg of the oxy, to get threw work. I've been on these meds for 2 yrs.
