Oxycodone withdrawal day 3

Common Questions and Answers about Oxycodone withdrawal day 3

oxycontin

I'm just wondering how long i can expect the withdrawal to stick around as I said I'm into day 2 and i'm going from 60mg to 100mg oxycodone a day to nbothing. If anyone culd give me an idea of how long I can expect this living hell to go on it would give me a little hope.
I assume the fact that when I went cold turkey, I had been on meds for a good 3 years straight. Went from a 3 a day 10mg. lorcet to about 10-12 a day at the most. But I think in my case, the fact I had been taking them for soo long, my wd's were pretty horrible. Lasted about 9 or 10 days, not all awful, got better as time went on. But the first 5 were miserable. And I tapered with them as well. went from about 10 to 8 down to 4 then the 1/2 last one. And the next day I was miserable.
it has been since the day I decided to have the surgery. But these last 3-4 oxycodone per day have been my Achilles heel. On Tuesday I cut down to 1/2 tablet every 8-10 hours. Yesterday, I want 22 hours without a tablet. The withdrawal, physically, is horrible. Body aches, diarrhea, dizziness, nausea, no appetite. I feel there is no end in sight. I see my doctor next week, and I want to tell him I don't need another prescription.
I've read through some posts, but some are 4-5 years old. I'm on day 3 and I feel like cutting my legs off, ripping my heart out (if it doesn't already jump out of my skin on its own) and just plain giving up. I haven't slept in 4 days because as soon as I lay down I feel like my chest is on fire and my legs are buzzing all over the place. I assume this is normal? I have a family and a career and I have GOT to get through this. How long will this last? ANY help to make this go faster?
ive read on here that Neurontin 300 mg works for withdrawals does anyone know how many a day I need to take to releave withdrawal pain and sickness to be able to stop taking oxy?? plus how many days does it take to be on the down side of the withdrawal from oxy??
i now have gotten a migraine almost every day for the last 2 weeks and the oxycodone is the only thing that takes the edge off. i was having contractions at 35.4 day and dr stopped them now im taking something 2 keep them at bay.. now all tha being said i am reading alot about baby and withdrawal. so my question is if i dont feel withdrawal from the oxycodone does this mean my baby wont either?
It is not the amount of time you have been on Norco or Percocet specifically, but the amount of time you have been on opiates all together. Usually the worst of the withdrawal is on day 2 or 3 then it should start getting better is most cases. The symptoms is like a really bad flu. You can have diarrhea, muscle ache , anxiety , lack of sleep and etc…Which ones you will have and how bad will it be is impossible to tell. I wish you all the best.
I have been addicted to Hydrocodone for the past 5 years.10/500 3 a day. Well,we all know how that goes. Soon i was taking 8 pills a day and started to get really concerned about my health. I have a amazing girl friend and 1 year old daughter that are my whole life and they deserve so much more than this. So i made a huge mistake. I asked the doc to change my meds to Oycondone with out tylenol. I knew what I wanted and get gave it to me.
Cocaine withdrawal is merely psychological, where as, Opiate withdrawal is physical. Instead of reverting to smoking pot or taking another substance like Lyrica, I would suggest looking into vitamin, herbal and over the counter remedies to help you get by the first few days. Magnesium and Potassium both aid in neuromuscular communication, which will help your body alleviate your pain symptoms. Also, get yourself sone icy hot patches and take hot baths.
I hated to have to start injections (never did that b4) but I feel great. 3mg 5X pr day. Absolutly no withdrawal-My ? is what will happen when I stop taking the Buprenex?? Dr. says take it for 2 mont--a slow withdraw--I plan to do it in 2-3 weeks--I want to cut down a lot faster--anyone had ecperience with this? I'm almost afraid I will get addictd to the Bup! I then plan to follow Thomas's recipe for vitamins. I expect to feel rotten for a day or 2. Any of you know what I am in for?
I would usually take 3-4 oxys 15 mg a day and now decided to quit these. Just 3days ago I went from 3 oxycodone 15mg pills (45mg a day) to just 1 half of a 15mg ie. 7.5 mg a day now. The first day I went from 45 mg to just 7.5mg was hard. But then 2days later my body is now adjusting to only having 7.5 mgs now. What ill do is withrawal half the day till I cant take it and then ill take half of a 15 and ill be ok till I wake up th the next day. Tomorrow im going to try half of a half 3.
the dr came him a 30day supply he took them all in 5 days! he is going cold turkey....first day chills and sweats, day 2 aches and chills, day 3 aches and severe stomach cramps with vominting and dirreah......i am wondering what is is store with day 4.
I am now on Oxycodone for my surgery and have already started to wean off from 30mg per day for 3 days down to 5mg per day for the past 24 hours. 2.5mg morning, 2.5mg in the evening. I am ready to turn my life around and stop taking these narcotic pain killers as well as stop drinking. My question is, how long can I expect the withdrawal symptoms to last after weaning down to 5mg per day for 6 days and 2.
My boyfriend and I have been taking both oxycontin and oxycodone for about 3 months on and off. Mostly on the last 6 weeks. I am now doing them in the morning before I leave the house. We are snorting them. We were taking about 80 to 120 mg a day. I stopped taking them last week for a few days and found my weakness unbearable. I could not even leave the house - no amount of caffeine would help.
So I got rid of the Oxycontin by tapering and going through the withdrawal and eventually got down to 60 mg of IR oxycodone per day. Now two years later I've crrept back up to 80mg due to pain. So I want to stop NOW....this stuff i think is causing me more pain than it is curing...every couple of hours my pain flares to get my body to take this med. I think its awful. My pain is calming down I believe, I still have pain telling me to take a dose..
We have no health insurance and my husband needs shoulder surgery. His shoulder is scraping bone against bone and I give him one opana and one oxycodone per day out of mine. If I tell the doctor, they will probably do something rash and I cannot just stop. Him too! That is why I went online for help. I have to get off this stuff. I think it is evil. I had no idea what I was taking when they first put me on this crap.
I had been taking approximately 2-3 a day. That night I had terrible leg cramps, sleeplessness, and diarrhea the next day. I thought I had the flu and didn't want to deal with the pain and the flu at the same time so began taking 2 of the oxycodone a day for the next couple of days.
Day by day is the best you can do. I am tapering off massive doses of fentanyl myself and def struggling with it. A slow and steady taper is best, it just takes a lot of mental control to be able to get yourself down on the dose. You are doing great! Keep your mind on your motivation and remember what you want for an end result!!
Is there a danger in stopping cold turkey for someone with other health problems and who takes a lot of additional prescription meds? should I taper off the dosages day by day? I am wanting to do this so that I can then find a pain management doctor with this out of my system. How long generally does it take Percocet to leave the system? Thanks for any help you can provide. Blessings to you and yours. PS I will post my lengthy medication list in my profile if you would like to take a look.
Hello there people, i recently was prescribed 30 20MG oxycodone pills and i consumed only 8 of them if im correct, a few days later i got another bottle with the same exact amount and this time i did comsume all of them with in a 7 to 10 day period maybe a little less i can't recall anyway...
I have been taking about 60 mgs per day of oxycodone..... that's 3 10 mgs of my own plus 3 10 mgs of my husbands. The thing is, they barely do anything for me anymore other than to keep me from falling apart completely. Yes, I realize after reading all of the information posted by others that I have left the quitting a little late before starting a new job... but I was trapped in the I will quit tomorrow line of thinking for at least a week.
Hi, I am on 30 -40mg of oxycodone each day for over a year now. I want to quit. How do I do this? How bad wil it be?
I had started the anti-depressant citalopram at day 15, but it's hard to tell whether these symptoms were due to it or the original withdrawal. I'm now at day 22 in the wd and day 8 with the citalopram with the last 3 straight days feeling O.K. (a milestone!) except for insomia with a mild lack of energy and occasional episodes of restless legs. Interestingly I tried Hylands Restful Legs for the RLS but that failed.
I HAVE BEEN ON MORPHINE EXTENDED RELEASE TABLETS 800 MG A DAY AND OXY IR'S 5 MG. X 8 A DAY FOR BREAKTHROUGH PAIN AND MY DOCTOR LEFT HER PRACTICE AND LEFT ME HANGING... I HAVE ABOUT 30 OXY IR'S LEFT AND 2-3 MORPHINE TABLETS LEFT AND IM SCARED IM GOING TO GO THROUGH WITHDRAWALS IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS.. WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO?! ITS SCARY.. On a good day, the pain might be a 3 or 4. On a bad day, it's more like 8. It's mainly from Osteoarthritis in my Lumbar spine, but I also have arthritis in my hands, feet,, neck, knees, shoulders, etc., but also fron Crohn' s and Fibromyalgia. I have maintained the same dosage level of meds for about 10 years. I REALLY don't want to get into the doseage increase spiral. I'd like to get off the opioid.
