Avatar n tn I assume the fact that when I went cold turkey, I had been on meds for a good 3 years straight. Went from a 3 a day 10mg. lorcet to about 10-12 a day at the most. But I think in my case, the fact I had been taking them for soo long, my wd's were pretty horrible. Lasted about 9 or 10 days, not all awful, got better as time went on. But the first 5 were miserable. And I tapered with them as well. went from about 10 to 8 down to 4 then the 1/2 last one.
Avatar f tn I was even able to sleep the first 2 nights. Then, on day 3, it really hit me. I felt awful for days 3 through 5, and finally started feeling a little but better from day 6 on. The good new is there are things you can do to help relieve some of the symptoms. If you are feeling bad, check out the Thomas Recipe on this site for some good information. Also, be careful with the anti diarrhea meds. You don't want to cause a whole different problem.
Avatar f tn I have been averaging 3 tabs of 10/325 Norco a day. I take it for numerous reasons...spinal stenosis - but it helps all of my arthritis. I stopped 2 days ago and hurt all over...I do this even when on the meds sometimes but the meds will pull me up. If I increased to 4 a day I am fairly pain free. But my Dr. won't do that so I am trying to just stop. I have fibromyalgia and I started with 3 tabs of 7.
Avatar f tn I need some guidance. I've always been a responsible person with a good job and good morals. A few years ago my boyfriend was using pain pills regularly. If I had a bad migraine or something he would give me one. I never thought I was in danger of addiction. I've never had an addictive personality. Well I began to use recreationally occasionally. Like take one every couple months at an event or something like that.
Avatar n tn Ok, I am just into day 2 of quitting ocycodone cold turkey. My doctor decided this was the best way to do it as opposed to weaning. I have to say he was right. this is hell. He pout me on 30mg of cymbalta to help ease the anxiety which seems to be helping however tyhe nausea is really bad. I cant eat, sleep or really do much of anything.
Avatar f tn Withdrawal from oxycodone is generally not life threatening. But some of the side effects can be very uncomfortable. The main side effects of oxycodone withdrawal are the same as other opiates and opioids are classified as mild, moderate or severe.
Avatar f tn it has been since the day I decided to have the surgery. But these last 3-4 oxycodone per day have been my Achilles heel. On Tuesday I cut down to 1/2 tablet every 8-10 hours. Yesterday, I want 22 hours without a tablet. The withdrawal, physically, is horrible. Body aches, diarrhea, dizziness, nausea, no appetite. I feel there is no end in sight. I see my doctor next week, and I want to tell him I don't need another prescription.
Avatar m tn t know my history, I was on oxycodone for about 3 months. The first two were fairly low dosages (10-20 mg/day) to help me deal with significant sciatic pain caused by a synovial cyst in my lumbar spine. On November 29 I had surgery, a posterior instrumented lumbar fusion at L4/5 and a re-operative decompression at L3/4/5 and S1.
Avatar f tn Hi I have a question I was on oxycodone 15 mg for 3 weeks stop taking them had mild withdrawal had to go back on them for 8 days after I had a back procedure would eyes go through withdrawal again
Avatar m tn ive read on here that Neurontin 300 mg works for withdrawals does anyone know how many a day I need to take to releave withdrawal pain and sickness to be able to stop taking oxy?? plus how many days does it take to be on the down side of the withdrawal from oxy??
Avatar m tn Withdrawals are normally felt from 24 hours of last drug use, to 2-4 days after last use, or 3-5 days after. Most people feel the worst time around day 3 and can be uncomfortable for a week or even 2. Some people dont feel w/d's till 1 week after stopping their drug of choice. Good luck with your detox and remember the fear is always worse than the detox if you do it correctly, like taper for instance.
Avatar m tn I would usually take 3-4 oxys 15 mg a day and now decided to quit these. Just 3days ago I went from 3 oxycodone 15mg pills (45mg a day) to just 1 half of a 15mg ie. 7.5 mg a day now. The first day I went from 45 mg to just 7.5mg was hard. But then 2days later my body is now adjusting to only having 7.5 mgs now. What ill do is withrawal half the day till I cant take it and then ill take half of a 15 and ill be ok till I wake up th the next day. Tomorrow im going to try half of a half 3.
Avatar f tn Maybe I explained it wrong. I had withdrawal after 12 hours of last oxycodone. It was hell getting better but still very hard. Day 15 today. Legs still bad.
Avatar f tn e. at 2 mg per day-- butrans is ABOUT as potent as 60 mg of oxycodone per day. These are rough dose estimates, as every person is a little different, and the route of administration-- transdermal-- has different 'efficiencies' in different people. But if you were taking, say, 100 mg of oxycodone per day, there is no way to match your pain relief using buprenorphinne-- even if you wore ten patches.
Avatar m tn My Dr hase prescibed me Oxynorm 5mg, once a day, incase I experience withdrawal symptoms. I have suffered from depression all my life and are on anti-depressants at the moment, Fluoxitine 60mg once a day. Since reducing the Oxcontin I have stared to experience extreme bouts, more severe and more often, of depression since I started reducing the Oxycontin. Is that a normal side affect of Oxycontin reduction?
Avatar f tn I have been on lortab 10mg for 3 yrs 4x a day due to migraines, I had sinus surgery last year, since then I have been tapering off, I'm now down to 2x a day, I would like to know if I stop cold turkey would I have withdraw symptoms?
Avatar m tn I have been on the medication oxycodone for about 5 years 10 mg and I am currently on day 6 without taking any of the oxycodone but my question is if I'm taking 3 or 4 mg of Suboxone everyday on my 14th day, can I stop the suboxone all together and will I feel okay? Is 2 weeks of low doses 2-3 times a day of subs, long enough to get rid of withdrawal? Should I continue for one more week with subs? I don't want to be dependent on subs though. I want to take ZERO pain meds.
Avatar f tn the dr came him a 30day supply he took them all in 5 days! he is going cold turkey....first day chills and sweats, day 2 aches and chills, day 3 aches and severe stomach cramps with vominting and dirreah......i am wondering what is is store with day 4.
Avatar f tn When I called for a refill my doc would not refill the script. This weekend and still I am going through withdrawal. Today (3/4/08) makes day 5. How long does this goes on? Managed to sleep one night. Seems night is the worst time for me. That is when I would wake up every 2 hours and take 2 until about 6:00 am. My arms are crazy. No sweating today. Just sore arms. After reading the topics here, I am hoping I don't have long to go.
Avatar f tn Restless legs is one of the parts of withdrawal that has drove me nuts during detox/withdrawal and the lack of sleep it brought just about caved me. Walking everyday helped...and I did some..if you are a better walker than me then try it. The sunlight will do you good as well for sleep later. Since your doctor has been helping..you could ask for something to help with the legs. The one I am on is non addictive and really helps. There are many other choices.
Avatar m tn t have quit. because sub withdrawal is way worse then oxycodone withdrawal without a doubt. and I would not advise anyone to cold turkey quit subs if you do quit just quit the oxycodone I have done that and was only 4 days compared to the duration of sub withdrawal. but can anyone answer my ? that has done it before honestly. thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn Typical wd last 5-7 days with day 3 being the worse. Depending how long your taper has been it could be less severe and a lesser amount of time. If you are experiencing wd symptoms now during this taper then more than likely you are just supressing it for a while before it comes on. Taperring is a slow process and works better with hydrocodone than it does with oxy. I hope your detox is an easy one. Good luck.
778741 tn?1237641888 Well Ive been on and off oxycodone for the past 2 months 2-3 days off 2-3 days on around 100-150 mgs a day I just want to quite all togeather
Avatar m tn I have been addicted to Hydrocodone for the past 5 years.10/500 3 a day. Well,we all know how that goes. Soon i was taking 8 pills a day and started to get really concerned about my health. I have a amazing girl friend and 1 year old daughter that are my whole life and they deserve so much more than this. So i made a huge mistake. I asked the doc to change my meds to Oycondone with out tylenol. I knew what I wanted and get gave it to me.
Avatar m tn this is day 3 cold turkey, still feel like **** but seems to be getting better...I have been on ocycodone and more recently dilaudid for going on 2 years. 100 plus mg's daily but as the doesage went up it seemed the fun went down. I started like many, for legitimate pain, cluster headaches, but found myself taking the pills whether i had a headache or not...withdrawal is rough. does anyone out there know how long this will last?
