Oxycodone with op

Common Questions and Answers about Oxycodone with op

oxycontin

Avatar f tn m still having a lot of post-op pain, but they changed my morphine back to the oxycodone. Originally I think it was for the post-op period but I'm going to talk to the pain clinic about sticking with this (though later spreading the doses further apart.) Right now I'm taking 30 mg. oxycodone, one to one-and-a-half pills every three hours, and I definitely need them every three. Sleep is still eluding me, but hopefully that will come back soon.
725248 tn?1316162245 I was on the table for 6 hours, when I woke up I was in so much pain. They had me on 60mg morphine 3 X a day, 15mg oxycodone 10 X a day, 5mg valium 3 X a day. I know in the hospital they increased my morpine to 90mg and was also giving me percocet. The first two days/nights I hurt like hell. I was really wondering if I had made the right choice to have surgery. They were never able to get my pain under control, I was in the hospital for 5 days.
1044894 tn?1253339091 I was prescribed oxycodone/apap for pain and an antibiotic. I also had morphine in the hospital. I was wondering if this is just post-op gas pains, or something more serious. I also want to know if i could be relieved. I'm wiling to go to the doctor for it. Thank You !
Avatar f tn Taking amoxicillin antibiotics already and my oxycodone is literally taking none of my pain away. Am I getting dry socket??
Avatar n tn I do take two naproxen 220 mg along with one one 10 mg oxycodone IR tablet and two 300 mg gabapentin capsules in the the AM when I wake up. Oxycodone is a little bit stronger than Vicodin. But I agree with the first poster that you need to contact your pharmacist to make sure the combo is OK for you to take as everyone is different and you may have underlying medical conditions that would make it an unsafe. choice for you.
Avatar m tn I'm having problems with the new oxy formulation [ op]. I've taken opiate pain management from a doctor [s] for years. Recently I've determined I'm allergic to the op's and won't take them anymore, but luckily for me I've accumulate quite a few breakthru meds which are oxycodone. I was told it's the same opiate ingredient. I think it's called Hydrochloride something or other?
Avatar f tn I had foot surgery and I was doing great weaned down to only Vicodin and only at bed but went for a post op appt they had to dig for a few surtures took of casting put me in a boot AM allowed to put slight pressure on the heel only any way can you say going back wards in pain !
356518 tn?1322263642 5 and 160 pounds and the prescription says take one or two of the 5mg pills every 6 hours also i take iy with 600 mg of ibuprofen. I still dont get sleep at night bc of the pain and i dont want to take more than the bottle says...
Avatar f tn I'll share my immediate post op experience with the idea in mind that everyone heals differently...so, here goes... I was d/c'd from the hospital after 7 days...on lots of meds including steroids...which I was to wean down slowly off of. I had to make sure I took the meds on time, or I'd have "break-thru" pain....I didn't feel like eating, but made myself eat something....kept well hydrated, too (sometimes not drinking enough fluids will make you headachy).
Avatar f tn -) So-since your doctor is not wanting you to have tylenol then your will probably be getting Oxycodone HCL (the opiate without tylenol). Oxycodone APAP is the stuff with tylenol. Either way, be careful and use it for the shortest time possible. Oxy WD's can be a bit worse than hydrocodone WD's (so people say-and I agree). Taper yourself down from the higher amounts of Oxy as you find yourself needing less of the meds to control the pain.
Avatar f tn Just for general info, there may still be some of the original oxycontins out there (stamped "OC") but I suspect most are gone now and replaced with the reformulated "OP" stamped oxycontin...The new one's that caused allergic reactions with me and a few other's in here..Them doing that was probably a blessing in disguise as had they not been changed, I probably would still be having them prescribed and never quit.
Avatar f tn Methadone will not interfere with absorption or function of Oxycodone. You may be thinking of another drug. Many ppl find great relief with Methadone.... Indeed there are some interesting articles that praise benefits of Methadone in Pan Management. So relax and enjoy a restful night's sleep. :o) If you have additional question please feel free to post them...... we'll try to be helpful!
Avatar f tn he left plenty of clearence between the nerve and the disc, just about anyone who has dealt with him hold their experience with him close to their heart.
Avatar m tn I am currently taking or should I say prescribes to take 1 40mg oxy every 12 hours. I have 7 tabes to last me until this coming Tuesday when I can see my surgeon post op and get them corrected...Im pretty much screwd until Tuesday and I was wondering if you guys knew any tricks or something that will help me not run out of these 7 tabs until Tuesday?
Avatar f tn Hi, I was in the same boat as you. We both have the same neurosurgeon... I had to have the same patch you had replaced and a second surgery at the same time you did because it was faulty. Apparently he said that it wasn't soaked long enough so it stretched? Anyway, I had to slowly taper off the pain meds at home as well. I left the hospital taking them every 6-8 hours, and did that until I started feeling better.
Avatar f tn I had thought this patch was going to do the trick for me. I started it last Thursday morning, which means I changed the patch on Sunday morning. Well, Saturday it stopped covering the pain pretty much totally. I had pain Thursday and Friday but took my breakthrough medications (1 to 2 10 mg. oxycodone up to 4 times a day.) I felt like that wasn't quite enough but thought I'd adjust after a bit.
Avatar m tn A side note - there is post op pain - generally well managed by oxycodone, but your chest does get a pretty good beating. Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn I actually had an allergic reaction to oxycodone and had to stop taking it...also had a problem with morphine... But it could be u r just not eating enuff as these are strong meds..... How r u doing now?
Avatar f tn Fourteen surgeries, three major spinal in past year ...so yeah, I am struggling with the opoids. Last left hospital in September on a mix of about 350 mg oxycodone or contin. I have two more surgeries ahead of me in the new year. But in the meantime I have become convinced that the oxycodone/contin is actually causing me pain. I have no idea how I am going to face the next surgeries but I CANNOT keep going on this particular road. So I have weaned myself down to 65 mg per day.
Avatar f tn ) worked very well for her and many chronic pain patients have said the reformulated Oxycontin ***** similar to how Opana ER super ***** now. But the OP seemed to have success with the new Oxycontin so I was thinking she might (and I say, might) have success with Opana ER as some folks are wired differently then the majority.
Avatar f tn Well, I had my post-op visit (with the PA, not the surgeon). He told me that I won't be doing any active range of motion with that arm for 4 weeks and I will be wearing the sling for 3-4 more weeks. The active ROM starts in PT weeks 5-6, confirmed by the physical therapist. Turns out that the tears were small and not sutured, and the SLAP tear was not sutured either, which concerns me a bit. The biceps tenodesis and subacromial decompression were the only 2 procedures performed.
