Oxycodone vs valium

Common Questions and Answers about Oxycodone vs valium

oxycontin

Hydrocodone (schedule III, in bulk formulations only containing hydrocodone its schedule II) is a opioid that is a mild potency opioid, in between codeine and oxycodone. Oxycodone (Percocet, Oxycontin, Tylox) is about 50% stronger than hydrocodone , where as hydrocodone is about 50% stronger than codeine.
It's been the very best source for me in the last week than I could have hoped for. Regarding the drinking vs. meds. I stopped my daily glass (or two) of wine cold turkey 1 yr ago Feb. I began getting ill due to the fact I was also taking Lortab and Oxy everyday for chronic joint/back pain. I thought I was "smart" enough to cut out the alcohol so I would be "kind" to my liver. Have a 13 yr old daughter.
He wouldn't return any of my calls so I went to the emergency room for withdrawal. They gave me Antibiotics, an in-haler, and OXYCODONE, till I could get back with my Doctor. Crap!, I didn't even want the Oxycodone, just the cough syrup. I've had Hydrocodone pills from Dentist visits lying around for years that I never took, till I found out that it was the hydrocodone and no other substance, that was suppressing the urge to cough.
Luckily for me, I don't like the feeling if I take too many - and certain one's in low doses make me feel just yucky (Valium for example - where xanxax seems to have little effect). Anyway - as stated above, most of these meds have a high abuse potential, and since your husband has already shown to have an addictive personality, it would be easy for him to fall into the trap of another addiction. Excesive sleep is a good sign of (benzo) abuse.

Ok guys i took a .25mg xanax yesterday at 6:30...then i took 10 mgs of valium at 1 am went to sleep by 2 or so and woke up at 5-6am took another 10mg and then nothing allll the way until now i just took another .25 mgs i was feeling really weird and it was almost 24 hours since i had any xanax...am i doing this right or am i doing something wrong ...
Codeine is converted to morphine in the liver (to varying degrees in different cultural populations), so from a practical standpoint there is no difference between an addiction to nurophen vs any other opiate, such as oxycodone or heroin. The ibuprofen is more physically harmful than the codeine (with the exception of overdose, when codeine will kill person through respiratory depression just as will other opiates, particularly if combined with valium-type meds or alcohol).
all i know is that today, i woke up and took 30mg oxycodone at 8am. then 10mg of methadone around 10am, At 12pm I took 5 mgs of valium. I lasted all day until now. I just tool 20 mg of oxycodone. All in all--after only 3 serious days with a strong mindset--i have cut my dose beyond half and feel considerably good.( I HAVE ONLY TAKEN A TOTAL OF 70 MG OXYCODONE & 10 MG METHADONE. ALL DAY...THIS IS A BIG DEAL TO ME!!!) I feel like i am in the home stretch.
I am trying the Thomas recipe. I don't have Valium but I do have Darvocet. Would this work as well and would this be as addicting as the hydrocodone?
My question is about Fibro medications and wanting to hear from others' experiences during pregnancy w/fibromyalgia (or chronic pain issues). I also NEED encouragement how to taper off of valium (I am down to from 20 mg to 10 mg a day for anxiety & muscle pain, but feel stuck here) I am probably about 3weeks along and happy about it!!
Percocet is actually stronger (although it is 5mg of oxycodone vs. 10mg of hydrocodone with the Lorcet). You are better off simply slowly tapering down off the Lorcet. I've done it several times, from a high of 25 Lorcet a day. If you are at 20 a day, if you have enough Lorcet simply go down by 1 per day (spreading it across your normal dose). For example, if you take 5 four times a day, then the first day of the taper take 4.75 four times; the next day 4.5, and so on.
(180 a month / Vicoprophen) I realize that I'll have to come off of these when my TX is over in January of 2008 along with the Ativan and the Valium that I use for sleep and my Doctor concurs. My last shot will be 01/09/2008. My habit with these pills quite honestly is the least of my worries with this disease. They've helped me get thru the SX's tremendously and I wouldn't have treated without them.
didn't like how much tylenol I was getting so she put me on oxycodone and finally found the dosage that she was comfortable with, 20mg every 6 hours, but barely helped, then sent me to a rheumatologist who put me on prednisone (2nd treatment) again. After 3rd treatment of prednisone I requested a new rheumatologist that specialized in Lupus. He increased my oxy to 30, yay I can move, and put me on methylpred which finally started reducing the inflammation.
Endocet is the generic name, and has oxycodone in it as well. Oh yes, also your first Rx had 5mgs of oxycodone, whereas your last one had 7.5mgs.
Hi... The Lunesta is like a longer-lasting Ambien. It worked for me, and I did not find it addictive. It's not a benzo/benzo ... it doesn't have that valium-klonopin-whatever effect. It's a "sleep hypnotic" - not a big deal. As for the Vic vs. Percocet.. honey, I don't know. Maybe one of the ol-timers could chime in here... whether it's better to take you DOC or something different. My guess is.. it doesn't really matter.
I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2000 and since then, my neurologist has been giving me an almost unlimited supply of Hydrocodone for my "headaches". Up until this past year, it wasnt so bad. I could have a bottle of Hydrocodone - 10/325 mg. and i could make it last me almost a month. I never really considered myself an addict because I could stop taking them at any time and I wouldnt withdraw. This past year has been different.
I agree about the Xanax, it is a benzo, I'm not sure about the equivalencies of Xanax, but I know for sure that 2mgs of klonopin is equal to 40 mgs of Valium. It's very addicting, as are all benzos and you can become addicted in as little as 2 weeks. It is a very long withdrawal, I was on klonopin for anxiety and then I had to taper off it by crossing over to valium so that I could taper safely and slowly.
or are addictive, but do work, not overnight, but eventually... Benzos (i.e. Ativan, Xanax, Valium) are highlighy addictive. It's good someone knows about it (i.e. your parents) and you have a support system. I have my wife and trust me, as much as we suffer through this, so do they... so, when you get "clean" and are back to "normal", you are not the only one that benefits, those around you do as well... Good luck on your road to recovery...
Or that oxocodone and the oxocodone in a Perc 5 mg Vs a oxocodone in a 5 mg just plain pill are different other than one has apap and the other doesnt? TO make it a little more simple , is a 7.5 es Vicodan more powefull than a 5 / 325 perc? Arent all codones in the same family and just an opiate or? I read your posts all the time and you are obviously well researched and expericend .
A long time ago when my first husband died in an airplane accident I was given valium for a short time by a doctor friend (all ligit)(sp) then about a month after I had stopped taking them I started having panic attacks and went to a walk-in clinic where the doctor gave me xanax and I felt the same way you are, I didn't feel a thing. I think you are used to how the percs were making you feel and the xanax in best description brings you back to a normal feeling. No real high from it.
Well, here's how it went down. Let me start by saying I broke down in the doctor's office when I started telling him about all the stress I'm going through. We had to get a loan against my Martin guitar and my husband's Tag watch just to get to the appt. I went in and told the doctor "I can't afford this medication and I can't afford to drive all over town looking for it either." His solution? "Percoset 10s work about 80-90% as well as Roxycodone 30s and they last longer.
I have a degree in chemistry and I've been studying the chemical structure of oxycodone vs hydrocodone; since I tried going BACK to Hydro and it didn't do a thing to me..it was like eating sugar pills. The ONLY difference between the two is that on C-14 (the 14th Carbon atom) with Hydrocodone, the C is bonded to a Hydrogen atom, and with oxycodone, it is bonded to a hydroxyl group (OH). Wow. I mean...Wow.
It does seem a bit different for those who were getting sick while being physically dependent AND didn't seek additional sources (I never liked it in the first place) vs those who somehow for whatever reason fell into it and were better able to manage functionality and weren't practically always in pain & misery regardless.
i was on 180mgs of oxycontin and 90 mgs of instant release (IR) oxycodone (the stuff in percocet w/o the tylenol) a day for legit pain from an excruciating disease. my very 1st WD symptom is not typical i guess. i get extreme, unbearable, intractable leg pain. and this began happening before i EVER tapered down the drugs. since i took it as prescribed, i maintained the same dose for over a year and i began having these "attacks" when it was even 2 hours before pill time.
and your pain receptors at the base of your brain need more and more. Hydros vs. Oxycodone......of course I took whatever, but my Rx and my hubby's (which he is NOT and addict and could take l/day....GO FIGURE FOR ME?) After I ate his script and mine we went to a guy he used to know from work and I wasted TONS of money we didn't have to spend! Secrets DO make us sick. Talk a lot on this site!! You can find out without your family knowing where some NA mtgs are.
any other suggestions for a quick fix to sleep? i dont have access to valium or muscle relaxers. Thank you all in advance for reading my post.
What withdrawl is worse, Vicodin or Valium? Just having a debate with a friend and we would like to get your opinions.. Thanks..
