Oxycodone itch

Common Questions and Answers about Oxycodone itch

oxycontin

my husband just had major back surgery, and the dr. prescribed oxycodone for the pain. he really needs it, but we are wondering how long he can take it before he becomes addicted. not that he wants to take it, he just can't stand the pain without it. his incision is 10 inches long, down the middle of his back. he is also itching a lot. could that be from the drug?
hey people there has been a question/problem i'ld like some input on. can oxycodone cause loss of shortr term memory? i seem to be having problems remembering things in the recent (several months) that have happened to me or have been said to me. anyone else notice this?
a week It has really helped me out with my Vicodine addiction. But I itch all of the time. Not a rash or hives. Just itchy! Vicodine use to make my nose itch but that's it. Does anyone else have this problem????
I take between half and 1 whole Oxycodone before bed time, and have been doing so for around 6 months. (I don't usually take a whole pill at once because it makes me itch). I have skipped days in-between, however. I have chronic pain, mostly leg pain (sciatica) and nerve pain all over. I am somewhat concerned about getting addicted, although I will never take it when I know I'll be working or driving.
My doctor is talking about reducing my shifts but also gave me Oxycodone to help with the pain. She gave me 30 pills. I got the prescription filled last Thursday but have not taken any. I have never taken this medication and have heard so many different things from people saying it's extremely addicting and you feel good when you take it, to things like how it makes people itch and nauseous. Obviously I don't want any of that and I also don't want it if it's not good for the baby.

Therefore, 5 mg of oxycodone is about 16 mg of hydrocodone so oxycodone is about 3 times stronger than hydrocodone. However, geminigirl is right in that everyone is different. I have read that some say hydrocodone works better for their pain than percocet and viceversa. For me, percocet works a lot better for my pain. Hydrocodone does not come without acetaminophen...yet. There is a drug in development called, Zohydro that would be a long-acting form of hydrocodone without acetaminophen.
What are the differences between oxycodone and hydrocodone? Are the withdrawal symptoms similar? Is one easier than the other to quit?

I'm suffering in pain cause I can't take these side effects! I was on Oxycodone 10-325 and didn't have any problems. And have been on pain management and on Oxycodone since 2011 and never had any problems on them. They have to be made with different components?
Hello, Oxycodone/apap is a combination of a narcotic (oxycodone) and a non-narcotic (acetaminophen) used to relieve moderate to severe pain.It is possible that your wife has shown an allergic reaction to any of these two drugs.Side effects to this combination includes hives and itchy rashes, dizziness, nausea, drowsiness, flushing, vision changes, or mental/mood changes, chest tightness, difficulty breathing etc. Pls stop this drug and take her to the doctor immediately.
derive from the same family of drugs. Hydrocodone is Hydrochloride/tylenol, aka Vicodin, where Oxycodone is oxycodone hydrochloride/tylenol aka Percocet...I think that is right, I know I will hear about it if not..and that's fine...Good luck, and I hope you get better soon. I have definitely heard of developing an allergy to anything at anytime in your life....How did you know you were allergic to Hydro? I mean what were your symptoms?
ALL pain meds cause me to itch and especially Oxycodone. I itched my way through a c-section and the aftermath, only to go onto the TT... Aside from the fact that I just plain hate pain meds, it's yet another reason to get off of them ASAP! if you need the pain meds, ask for the "reaction to pain meds" med.... Hope this helps.
I AM ALLERGIC TO ANTIHISTAMINES, BACTRIM, OXYCODONE AND HYDROCODONE. I HAVE HAS NO RELIEF. PLEASE HELP ME!!

I was prescribed 5 mg of Oxycodone as needed along with the Gabapentin for the God-awful stabbing pain and accompanying painful creepy crawly sensations. This pain has been so bad that I have cried myself to sleep on occasion. The neuralgia began in January and I've noticed for the past week that the sensations and the pain come and go. I rarely take the Oxycodone but still need the Gabapentin on the prescribed basis. I hope this information is of some help to you.
it doesnt itch or bother me except to look at. it just realy red. Ive been having to take alot of oxycodone recently due to back issues, could this be making my liver worse.
Percocet (oxycodone) is stronger than Vicodin (hydrocodone). Percocet is typical prescribed in 5mg doses. Hydrocodone is also typically prescribed in 5mg doses. At these levels percocet is definitly the stronger drug. Norco a brand of hydrocodone that comes in 10mg pills, and is there for equivalent to 2 normal hydro pills. People get confused and think it is stronger because they are taking two pills in one.
I just realized that I am going through Oxycodone withdrawel and didn't even know. I thought I had the flu or something and also since I stopped taking the extreme high dose that I was on and tapered down I have had stomach problems and blamed it on the surgery I had just had so I just had a colonoscopy done to try to figure out what is wrong with me. I am guesing that they are going to find that nothing is wrong now that I have read all this information.
I don't know about it in one specific area. Vicodin makes me itch really bad, arms, inside my ears and head. Oxycodone sometimes makes me itch a very little. Keep looking for a doctor you can talk to. A physician you can't be open and honest with is no good at all as they're never going to get all of the information they need from you to treat you properly. Good luck.
You should be on a long ating pain medication, as well as an immediate release medicine for breakthrough pain. Examples---Oxycontin and oxycodone, Mscontin and oxycodone, or morphine IR, the list goes on and on.........
I take lots of other RXs...Oxycodone, Xanax, Zantac, Zofran, Allegra, Benadryl, Prozac, blood pressure med, lots of stomach stuff like Compazine, Tigan, I had gastric bypass and though I lost over 277 lbs, it has done a number of things to my stomach and metabolism..everything goes through pretty fast, but according to the dr, they sent them a list of meds i take and the metalites from the Lortab didn't linger like they should have...
I have been on oxycodone and muscle relaxers since Dec 2006 . I just think that taking all these meds are not good for my liver. I was feeling fine until recently ...I have had nausea ,stomach upsets, vomiting and diahrea, and I have really been really itchy. Could this be just the meds or ...could it be a sign of infecting my liver ? It has just started in the last 3 weeks ...I guess maybe I should contact my doctor ...I don't see him for another month .
Try some Tremidol (has to be prescribed) or Oxycodone. The burning sensation will not go away, but any other pain associated with it might be dissolved.
I see you did not mention oxycodone in the list you have tried unsuccessfully. If you have not tried it then it could work for you. The anti itch cremes are a great idea as well.
My current doctor originally prescribed 3 oxycodone a day with 1 Norco to take in the evening as oxycodone can cause insomnia. By the third appointment I needed to up the oxycodone to 4 a day and take out the Norco because I seem to have a ridiculous tolerance, the oxycodone doesn't give me energy at all, if anything, it knocked me out when I first started taking it (so i cut it in half), anyway. I've often wondered this myself.
Endocet is the generic name, and has oxycodone in it as well. Oh yes, also your first Rx had 5mgs of oxycodone, whereas your last one had 7.5mgs.
the hydrocodone never really worked for me and the patches would fall off and work for what it seemed for only 36 hours at a time. my doctor took all the meds away and put me on 15 mg of oxycodone ir three times a day and bacially said good luck and you can work throught the withdrawls. she is a doc that believes that if you go sit in classes and go run or something you will feel better. i have siatticcia, fibromiagia, cronic lower back paing, degentrative disc disease and ostio arthrritis.
My dr didn't call me back today, and I can't imagine having to tolerate this horrible itching another time around. Since i itch badly during withdrawal, and I'm again itching badly when I take methadone, I'm considering just switching to percocet and withdrawing off it. Five years ago I took myself off oxcycontin with no symptoms, and I've come off vicodin and ultram just as easily. I don't understand why methadone is such a bugger.
