The five drugs tested for in the standard NIDA approved drug test. The standard tests are a one step rapid qualitative immunoassay for the detection of opiate and opiate metabolites in urine. The cutoff concentration for this test is 2000 ng/ml, as recommended by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the U.S. National Institute of drug Abuse (NIDA).
It is also my suggestion that every time you are required to take a drug test you have your own test repeated that day by a trusted authority. It seems these clinic and PMP have all the rights and the patients are always the liars. What's wrong with this picture?? I am mad about the injustices CP Suffers are enduring. Isn't the pain injustice enough??? Ok, I'm through with my rant.
I am always looking for information on the effectiveness and accuracy of the drug test we have to endure. I have just come across this one from Early this year. It has alot of information on how the UA works and why they are inconclusive most of the time. I am including the link as I have not posted everything in the article. The VA study I have posted in my journal and refer members to was done in 2004 I believe.

I don't understand why they automatically call you a liar and that this type of test does not lie. I seen the bill for this test and it was $1904 for a drug test. Has anyone got any ideas for me. I honestly don't know what to do. I do not have a PCP he was my only Dr. The test were done at a lab called McVee. I am so sorry for everyone having to be put through this uncalled for B.S. We should not be let go for one test that comes back neg.
Also, drugs DO NOT STAY IN YOUR SYSTEM FOR 30 DAYS...fact. And they could have sent your test for a gs/ms which will test limit of detection, that means as low as it goes, and it would have showed up. I have found that alot of DR's do not do their homework on pt. compliance testing. So you prob. know more about it than he does. You go back, not as a pt.
Any drug infested by mama after week 20 is supposed to show up in baby's meconium. Not all hospitals test me indium without reasonable cause though. If the drug use is in your medical record or if your or baby is acting suspiciously, then there will be a test for sure. But I've heard some hospitals tests all meconium. For the safety of your baby, you should be honest with your OB so that you can withdrawal properly at the right time and all precautions are taken for baby's sake.
Now to me this is outrageous that the Dr who orders these test can order the test that requires higher levels of the drug to be present in order to These are the drugs that will cause a false negitive.....
If you dont come we clean with your doctor and you test positive for these things dss will be called .POT is not a safe drug to use because you cant sleep .... plz do the right thing ........
Well after the operation I thought I'd better cut down as constipation was real bad issue, up to 45mins to pass what seemed like an Elephant, I even ruptured a nose blood vessel with the straining at one time, and as a friend who had had the same operation was off painkillers after 3 weeks I thought now's the time. ( 05/12/07 ) So taking the bull by the horns I cut down to 40mg 2x a day, and never expected what happens next.

Your natural endorphines will return with time. oxycodone and hydrocodone are interchangeable. If it seems the hydro's aren't working it is probably your mind telling you that. Because it wants the oc's . Try to tapper slowly if you can. I did it quick, cold turkey but that is not for everyone. Keep posting and you will get lots of good info. be safe!!
I thought it had worked when I didnt' have any symptoms for 3 months, but then it started happening again. It's been 3 weeks now since the last time. Every time I laugh, sneeze, cough or yawn, I do so with caution. I'm sure you completely understand that. Anyway, please write back and let me know what your ENT said. I can't wait to hear. Take care!
