oxycodone dosage

For the last year I have been taking15 mg Morphine2 times a day, and 5mg Oxycodone HCI For pain in back and hips, and knee. At this dosage I have been getting some relief.Could one say that I'm chemically dependent. I'm 6 ft tall and 172 lbs. What is the suggested dosage for 61 yr old? I just had surgery in my chest and the pain level is 10 by times 10. they increased the oxy to 10 mg every 4 hrs and the Morphine 3 times a day 30 mg a day. with little effect.

My doctor change my dosage from 30mg oxycodone 3 times,a day to 20mg 4 times a day i filled my last script for the 30mill 15 days ago can i fill my new scipt,

I have a question about other pain meds. My pain doctor has me on 20mg oxycodone twice a day and up to 6-10/325 norco a day, prior to the oxycodone he had me on 15mg oxycontin twice a day. I am not getting any pain relief from the oxycontin or oxycodone, the norco does give me some pain relief, but am limited to 6 a day as to not damage my liver. What other long acting pain meds are out there???

my husband just had major back surgery, and the dr. prescribed oxycodone for the pain. he really needs it, but we are wondering how long he can take it before he becomes addicted. not that he wants to take it, he just can't stand the pain without it. his incision is 10 inches long, down the middle of his back. he is also itching a lot. could that be from the drug?

Oxycodone is a morphine basses pill i diffinatly wouldnt take it.cause that n codeine go into babys blood stream nif u end up taking it wen ur sore like everyday baby can get addicted n come out havn withdrawls...i have major back pain n my doc offered codeine as a last resort but cause it a a every day accurance i didnt take it...tri a yoga ball or find excercises online that can help relive some pain it doesnt help as much as ud wont it to but atleast its somerhing....

what heart medications is he taking? What is the dosage (amount/frequency) of the oxycodone? How long has this been happening as is it all the time or just sometimes?

I have cervical dystonia in my neck, fibromyalgia, endometriosis, and hidertitis supperteva (sp?). I had been taking 20 mg opana 2x day along with 30 mg Oxycodone 4x day. I can tell you from research and experience that Methadone is sometimes prescribed along with moderate dosages of Oxycodone as an alternative to increasing the dosage of Oxycodone. Methadone acts as a potentiator, increasing the efficacy of the Oxycodone due to increased tolerance. I have been on the on all three medications with no issue for some time now.

Ive been on Oxycodone for 5 years. My dosage has slowly increased from 40mg day to 120 mg day. s just in my head but I feel like the gabapentin can help lowering my oxycodone dosage. I was taking 5 15mg oxycodone a day I was down to 2 1/2 a day but after this last back surgery I'm back up to 4 a day. The hair twirling is driving my family crazy, my son said he wouldn't scratch his poison ivy if I didn't twirl my hair lol.

I take liquid oxycodone through my feeding tube for pain management of neuropathic and GI pain. I also have rescue meds for migraines but I've gone off my preventative meds, Topamax and Gabapentin, as my husband and I were trying to conceive. I really would like to stay off the neuroleptics for a bit longer, but I'm concerned that I'm becoming overly tolerant of the oxycodone.

what is the half life of oxycodone in cats? I've heard it works well for pain in cats. I'm trying to get more information on what may help my 12 year old cat. I'd like to have my questions in order before I pay my/her vet?

Also are you taking the oxycodone when required or regularly? 60mg of oxycodone a day 9wks after surgery seems a high dose to be needed at this stage. But if you already have a tolerance to these pain meds then this might explain the high dose or you have other pain. Please keep in touch and a big congratulations for going through with a total knee replacement. One of the most painful surgerys' to endure.

I have been taking the roxicodone ( oxycodone IR) for awhile and had to have them switched to a different medication because no one around here ( Florida) has them. Ethex is under FDA investigation and they have stopped all medications there so there is only one company now (malikroft) and they are really seriously backed up on orders. This is so very frustrating as I was doing well on the meds for break thru pain. Are you having to change your medication regimen because of this problem?
