Oxycodone and headaches

Common Questions and Answers about Oxycodone and headaches

oxycontin

Avatar m tn The six times per day of 10mg oxycodone leave me with nausea and headaches. This is particularly bad at night which prevents me from getting enough sleep. Of course, being awoken every four hours contributes. I would think after time symptoms would lessen. Am I destined to living through nausea, headaches until I finish rehab from the surgery?
Avatar f tn I'm 8 wks PG and have started having bad headaches and migraines. Tylenol isn't working so the Dr. prescribed percocet. I'm a little hesistant to take it but figure my Dr. wouldn't prescribe it if it wasn't safe. Has anyone else had this prescribed to them for pain? Did you have any side effects while taking it? Thanks.
Avatar f tn t taken anything at all, when I get terrible headaches (and when the option is available) I just lay down in a dark room with a cold rag on my head and neck. And drink water. Headaches are a sign of dehydration. (: I hope that helps. I'm scared to take meds too.
203003 tn?1210855907 5 mg and 10mg. Percocet is oxycodone and tylenol. Oxycontin is oxycodone in a time released pill. They used to make a capsule of 15mg of fast release oxycodone that people called percocet 15's but that was a misnomer. I'm not sure that they still make them here in the US.
Avatar f tn Ive been dealing with horrible headaches thru this entire pregnancy. I am 19wks and I took a half of percocet is that bad?
Avatar f tn I did some research and some of the top side-effects with the Morphine are Headaches and Drowsiness and dizziness and being light-headed. There are many more than that but those are the ones that were at the top. I don't know if that helped you or not BUT I hope that it did. I really think you might want to consider talking to your NP about switching your BT meds.
Avatar f tn Ever since my first pregnancy I have had horrible headaches, I am getting severe chest pains (even hurts to breathe), and I am always tired no matter how much sleep I get. I am 26 yo. I am a smoker, I am a recovering addict (oxycodone I used to smoke them) and I have a feeling all of these factors have done damage to me. I do not know my family medical history (I am adopted). I had tests done recently and the only thing that came back for a little concern was my ALT which was 63.
221913 tn?1372276661 Experiencing excruciating analgesic rebound headaches from all the Oxycodone and Hydrocodone I have been on for the past 14 months. I have qnty: 7 Oxycodone 5mg left and also have an appointment with a pain specialist tomorrow morning at 10:00am. I can NOT handle the headaches anymore! They are BRUTAL!
Avatar f tn I had the Tylenol 3 first and then it wasn't helping so she decided that I could top up with Oxycodone, instead of going higher with the Tylenol 3's. I take 1 Oxycodone 4 times a day, and 2 Tylenol 3's 4 times a day. I do not think I have experienced and drowsiness on these medications, but definitely bursts of energy, and constipation, itchiness, and nausea, but thankfully no vomiting.
6726276 tn?1421126668 Hi! I just read your post about your headaches...and it sounded so similar to what happened to me. So, I wanted to share some advise. PLEASE FORGIVE ME AND BE FORWARNED...THIS IS EXTREMELY LONG & SOME MAY NOT APPLY TO YOUR EXACT SITUATION! I am Bipolar, PTSD, GAD, ADD, MVP, Dysautonomia, sever headaches, Migraines. The following conditions were diagnosed 6 months ago due to my "quest" to get rid of my headaches, migraings, pain...
Avatar f tn Technically, I suppose you could, but really why would you? Better to wait the requisite time before regular dosing. Also, just an FYI, Oxycodone and any narcotics really aren't very good for chronic headaches as they tend to cause worse rebound headaches. Good luck to you!
7502680 tn?1405284034 okay so, I told my Dr about the massive headaches I have been getting & he prescribed me fioricet & oxycodone I guess because they are harmless to my baby I'm 14 weeks 3 days.. eveyone I have told said it wasn't a good idea to take them but it like I jst bought them for the heck of it my DR prescribed them to me and I've always heard such good things about him hes the most popular Dr in my city but still should I be worried? Anyone take these while being pregnant?
Avatar m tn Let me amplify that oxycodone will not help with tendon type pain. I have two tears, one in the shoulder and one in the hip socket, and oxycodone 5mg won't do a thing for it. I'm glad to hear it helps your migraines but keep in mind it's only masking the pain. If you search in this migraine forum you'll find some comments I made that should help you narrow down which components of the weather are more responsible for your migraines.
Avatar n tn mmediate-release oxycodone has not been formally assigned to a pregnancy category by the FDA. Some combination products that contain oxycodone (such as Percocet and Tylox) are assigned to pregnancy category C. Controlled-release oxycodone has been assigned to pregnancy category B. Use of narcotic analgesics in late pregnancy is associated with the risk of neonatal withdrawal. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy.
655875 tn?1295695107 Have you tried ibuprofen? Sometimes I get headaches from the oxycodone and I find 800 mg. ibuprofen helps. For all my pains, it helps a little. I think it helps the oxy work better for me.
Avatar n tn i have had a similar experience with morphine-----it upset my stomach and didn't affect the pain very much! Your doc sounds like she (i hope) is one of the "good" ones willing to listen and wk with you. Mine switched me to oxycodone for breakthru pain and it worked really well----not seasick all day!You might try it. This is a good forum and also the Chronic couch for info and compassion. Let's fire this thing up for a while--0----get current. Get active! Get together!
Avatar m tn oh really yea and i also go to the gym and stay in the sauna for 10 min the last 2 days and tapering down 25 oxycodone sunday and 15 mg today but i dont wanna take anymore tmrw. but i only thing i feel is when i sleep i wake up with like my chest or heart poking? i dont really have aches or headaches yet idk would i get them?. usually when i WD i dont sweat or drink alot of fluids (quit) i just do more mgs. id do like average 75 mg oxycodone a day for llike 2 yrs .
Avatar n tn Ok so I was taking oxycodone pain killers for about 1 1/2 years for my back issues. 10 mg pills and I was only taking anywhere from 1 to 1 and a 1/2 a day. Never exceeded that. However I started getting nervous that long term probably isn't good on my stomach. So I lowered my dosage last week to 3/4 of a pill for about 5 days then I quit last Friday. That's where the problems started. First 40 hours I felt like I had a strange low grade current running through my arms/legs.
Avatar n tn it also matters how often and for how long you have those headaches because fentanyl is around the clock relief and you may really not need or want all that extra medication during the night. Personally, I also do not like the way it makes me feel although the pain relief is incredible. but it causes me to become dysphoric, as in the opposite of euphoric and I really feel slowed fown and medicated.
Avatar f tn For over 5 months I have experienced weight gain, headaches, sinus pressure, dry peeling sore swollen lips, and for over a month I have had dizziness added into those symptoms and also left ankle/foot edema. I had a CT of sinus and it was "ok", MRI of brain and "ok", Thyroid levels "ok", I did find out I am anemic (iron deficience) a month ago and am on iron supplements now for a over a month. Was treated for sinus infection, ear infection and still have symptoms.
Avatar f tn I have been through so much....gosh where to begin. I started taking the oxycodone regularly when I was pregnant because I suffer migraines and headaches-tension/stress. ANd as you know, couldn't take imitrex, Topamax as a preventative, Maxalt, etc. And the headaches were SO bad. I can't even explain them. I'd had them for years before, but to not be able to take anything for them was torture. I'd be in bed crying.
Avatar m tn I Just wanted to let the friends I met here, still going strong, a year and 1/2 free of Oxycodone, and Somas For those who are just quiting I am living prooof it can be done..Mr Addictive is finally leading a normal and productive life and expecting my first Grandchild in 6 weeks....
433485 tn?1321813390 Hi Sue what is Oxycodone? Do you get it from the doctors? I too have chronic gastritis and it is agony on flare ups. I take Pantoprazole,Gaviscon and I can take Sucralfate. They don,t do much though. Its really awful isn,t it I hope you find relief for your pain too.
Avatar n tn Yes I am on so many its scary!! I'm on Oxycodone, amitriptaline, omoprazole, sertraline, a water tablet amongst others. I'm almost 14 weeks pregnant and have fibromyalgia and arthritis and also have a slipped disc. I'm slowly coming off of the Oxycodone but I have spoken to a specialist who adviced me to continue with the other meds.
Avatar n tn It has been 7 weeks and I still feel lousy. I have headaches and sinus pressure and my upper arms and shoulders ache all the time. I just want to feel normal again. It is affecting my job and everyday normal activities.
